This is a very good transceiver for the price. It allows you to adapt SFP+ to 1, 2.5, 5.0 and 10Gb Ethernet. Used this as the downlink from Netgate 4200 2.5Gb to UniFi USW-Aggregation switch. It does use more power than typical fiber or optical transceiver, but well worth it for this use case.

Got this to go from my Ubiquiti rack mount cable modem to the UDM Pro SFP port to get the full speed of my ISP connection. (Non SE UDM Pro doesn’t have the 2.5gb RJ45 WAN)You must set the speed of the SFP to (auto negotiate) on latest firmward, change the original WAN1 to LAN, change the SFP to your WAN1… then it still wont pass the IP to your router until you reboot the modem and router. After that it should work.Works great though, no issues!
Auto negotiates at 10G or 1G with UniFi switches seamlessly. Happy that it seems to run cooler than generic FS or other cheap modules out there.
I put it in my USW Enterprise 24 PoE to provide a 10gbe port for a NAS. It runs at that speed and while it gets warm, it’s not what I’d call hot. Supposedly it’s cooler running than some other SFP+ 10gbe modules.
The Ubiquiti SFP+ module works fine but the best part about the transaction was the awesome customer service provided by B&H! The original module was lost by the shipping carrier and B&H shipped a replacement Next-Day air service. Thank you B&H!
