I've been using various UniFi gear over the past 4 years and have been pretty happy with their functionality. I bought these new mesh AP's to upgrade to dual band and take advantage of the latest technology. They seem to work well when you can get them to connect, but their range is much less than the UniFi Outdoor+ AP's we were using. The old radios had no problem connecting across the 125' distance between units - however, the mesh AP's have only internal antennas and cannot make the connection easily if at all. And, there is no way to connect an external antenna upgrade - bummer. Basically, I cannot use two of the five units I purchased because they cannot "see" each other even though the old units had no issues doing so.So, in my opinion these will work fine ... MoreI've been using various UniFi gear over the past 4 years and have been pretty happy with their functionality. Otherwise, find something else.

A terrific product once setup. You will be lucky to get controller program running straight away. I tried 5 different computers before I got it to work. Port 8080... Is the problem. If its used by another program then you either change it or it won't work. Connected another mesh ubiquiti one to it and finally got that to adopt. Overall great wifi coverage but tricky to set up. This set up replaced omni directional antenna with bullet titanium 2.4ghz and performance is far better now with capability for more users to connect. Once adopted the interface is great and has all the options you need. Range of device is great. Once setup it should be set and forget.

I installed this in my house along with the 8-port 60-watt Unifi Switch, which has 4 PoE ports. I also installed the Unifi Controller on a Raspberry Pi device. Coverage is great in my 2-story 3500 square foot house, but I have ordered a second AP for stronger coverage and redundancy for when I make network changes and need to restart an AP. My house was pre-wired with Cat5e throughout and structured wiring to a closet. I have a battery UPS powering my broadband modem, router, and switch, which in turn powers my wireless access points. The Guest Portal is great. I configured a guest wireless network that can accept limited-time vouchers. I have a technical network background (CCNP/CCDP), so I was glad to find an "enterprise" solution that is inexpensive enough to ... MoreI installed this in my house along with the 8-port 60-watt Unifi Switch, which has 4 PoE ports. I really like the niche that Ubiquiti has found between the consumer-grade stuff that has to be rebooted once a week and the "big name" enterprise stuff that can cost as much as a small car. Although I'm using this for home use, the Ubiquiti gear seems like it's quite suitable for business deployment.

Using this to broadcast wifi signal to a 1500 sq ft cottage located approximately 75 feet from the transmitter. The access point mounted on a pole about 20 feet above ground level attached to an adjacent building. Works well delivering strong signal throughout the interior spaces - including the far side of the building. There had been a problem with the existing underground ethernet cable serving this cottage - so implementing this Ubiquiti wireless solution was an easier fix than trenching a new cable. Once setup, the signal strength from the Ubiquity unit transmitting from the adjacent building is as strong as the signal from the old Netgear Access Point that had been mounted within this cottage.
Ubiquiti's product line provides near-enterprise functionality at a comparatively low price. I do not recommend them for business use except for very small SOHO applications. Support for the most part is limited to what Google reveals and SLA is not in Ubiquiti's vocabulary. For non-critical use, however, Unifi gear can be outstanding. The Flex HD Pro is an example of this. Far superior coverage, weatherproofing, and client capabilities to the non-Pro version. Wireless mesh support works, although throughput definitely drops.
Easy to install and setup. Using with a USG, Unifi controller and mesh connection.Am a little disappointed on range. These are advertised as 600 feet coverage. In open air, line of sight, I am seeing signal and performance loss at just under 300 feet. Not a lot, but I did not expect to see losses (open air, line of sight) until closer to 400 -450.I will not see heavy usage on these unit until April, but am hoping they are able to handle 100 connections. The Unifi web interface controller has a fair amount of options and was easy to understand and use.I am hoping these will hold up to outdoor conditions and higher end traffic.
Probably good to 600 ft for iPhones. But has much longer range for freestanding devices like cameras. Line of sight I am able to get 3000 ft to a camera with this on a 60ft tower. For crowds you’ll have to get it over everyone’s heads to get any range out of it. That’s just the way radio works.
Purchased 3 NanoHD for the basement and main floors of my home. Needed a little better coverage for the outdoor pool area. Decided to add another UniFi AC access point that was outdoor rated. Decided on the Unifi AC-M-Pro.Installed at the back of the pool (near pool pump/cleaner) and hidden by large hedge. Mounted on a scrap 1" white PVC pipe. Provides great speed outdoors. When pool was installed, had folks installed an unisex conduit; Pulled cat5e (gel-filled) cable in that unused conduit. Buried the remainder within the landscape rock bed. This entire UniFi system is superior to stand alone WiFi routers. BH ships fast and has the best products.
We recently installed two of these APs at our lakehouse to allow us to install remote cameras (we were robbed last winter, as were several of our neighbors). The system installed easily, and worked great, but the range was no where near the advertised 600 feet. Granted, our property is hilly and wooded, but we were getting more like 200-300 feet of useful range. We had bought two devices and created a mesh to extend the coverage area, but realized we need a third to cover all the areas we need. I've now ordered a third unit, and that will get the job done. Otherwise, fantastic product!
Installed this outside in order to support my backyard cameras which were connected to a cheapo Joowin unit which was only marginally better than my Asus AX11000 router (30' farther and indoors). After spendings hours on channel selection, using a channel meter, and different settings, this unit is far less powerful than my Joowin unit and even less powerful than my router - which is located behind my exterior wall and a total of 30' further away! This is with the latest 5.43.43 firmware installed. To say I am highly disappointed would be an understatement.Im addition, while setup was fairly easy, total speed output was limited at 164 Mbps compared to my router's 498 Mbps, even though I am closer to the UniFi unit.Again, I tried multiple channels and power ... MoreInstalled this outside in order to support my backyard cameras which were connected to a cheapo Joowin unit which was only marginally better than my Asus AX11000 router (30' farther and indoors). After spendings hours on channel selection, using a channel meter, and different settings, this unit is far less powerful than my Joowin unit and even less powerful than my router - which is located behind my exterior wall and a total of 30' further away! This is with the latest 5.43.43 firmware installed.
