AI features only work with cloud account

Ubiquiti products stand out and this one is not an exception. Specially, when bound into the UNIFI echo system. Camera is build solid and connect easlly to the system. It has a small delay, a high-quality image, and a wide view, flawless.

Good security cam, if you like Ubiquiti

Was previously running two SV3C cameras and they were PoE to a basic PoE switch and then mapped in Blue Iris for monitoring/recording. Ended up getting a Ubiquiti Dream Machine SE and saw these cameras. Figured I could more easily manage these from there. It mostly does everything I would want/hope it would, but there are some drawbacks.Pros:Quality of the cameras are good. They have a pro (4k) version, but seems overpriced since these are 2K. I was previously using 2k so was surprised that despite the same resolution, these look more clear and have better field of viewEasy to setup with existing Ubiquiti gear. The phone app shows the cameras ready before I can get off the ladder from installing!ConsProbably not the best if not using Ubiquiti gearNot ... MoreWas previously running two SV3C cameras and they were PoE to a basic PoE switch and then mapped in Blue Iris for monitoring/recording. Hopefully high winds are not an issueNo option to backup to the cloud without workarounds.

Have bought 11 of these now in multiple purchases over two years. Expect i will buy more as locations suggest themselves. Only one has failed (last month) and that was first one I bought. That should say it all.

Review of UniFi UVC-G5-BULLET Camera
7 April 2024

As is typical for Ubiquity products this camera is excellent for quality and value. Maybe not as good as much more expensive products, but a good, better than average, picture quality. Recommended.

Cameras are clearly very good and work well. My only criticism is the lasck of set up instructions and guide from Unifi. I still have some pretty basic o/s unknowns and trying to fathom the answer is a challenge.

[Rewarded Review] Great Cameras for Ubiquiti Protect at a Great Price
14 August 2023

I debated between ordering this camera or the Pro cameras at a much higher cost. The pros have higher resolution and optical zoom, which are nice if you need them, but this comes at almost 3x the price. I installed two of these, and I am very happy with the video quality both day and night. I would highly recommend the G5 bullets if their zoom and resolution meet your needs.

[Rewarded Review] Simple setup, great images.
28 July 2024

This weekend I installed three of these and it was a breeze. There is a tricky point in that the waterproof gasket is super tight and I didn't think I could get the ethernet plug through, but you just have to be persistent. Besides, you want that gasket to be really tight to avoid moisture problems.

[Rewarded Review] These are great!

The quality of footage from these are pretty decent, especially compared to my old g3 cameras. Paired with AI, they are smart enough to detect vehicles and people, and will push notifications instantly. I like the fact that you get all this on your own self-hosted system, free from any cloud subscriptions.Unfi is a game changer for the prosumer.

[Rewarded Review] Ubiquiti is great and so it their support
17 February 2024

I messed up my install, I thought the mount allowed for left and right movement along with up down but it is only up down. So I mounted it on a tree then discovered I couldnt turn it left to hit my mailbox. When I went to remove it, I stripped the screw (I used my own because the included ones were not long enough) because it was over my head and in a tree. I could only remove the screw with force of a prybar and it bent the mount making it unusable. Ubiquiti support was able to find a spare lying around and send me a new mounting base for free. Beyond that, this camera has been 100% reliable over my previous reolink wireless camera that is 100 feet from my house. I ran an ethernet cable that was 200 feet long to my unifi 24 poe switch and it manages to power it ... MoreI messed up my install, I thought the mount allowed for left and right movement along with up down but it is only up down.
