I have been doing security camera installations for 8 years now and have used Samsung enterprise cameras, Google Nest and Ring cameras. I installed the G4 Pro for few clients in different locations. No issues at all. The condensation build folks have mentioned is caused when the camera is hit by rain. If you install the camera in a good location (with a good angle without obstructing the view) you should not see the condensation issue occur. Of the 16 I have deployed on poles and roofs, only 1 had this issue and once I changed the placement and angle it worked fine in heavy rain.

Apparently a known issue with Ubiquiti, there is condensation on the lens especially is the ring diode is on. For $400, this is not acceptable. Having mine replaced via RMA, however many have stated that replacements have the same issue ...

We have approximately 60 UVC-G3 bullet and dome cameras on our campus. We bought a G4 Pro for an area we needed better quality coverage of. Placed it in direct replacement of the G3 and so far we are not impressed. For almost 2 1/2 times the purchase price there is very little quality improvement. Both cameras get very pixelated when zoomed in trying to identify people. For the price the camera does not meet my expectations.

For the cost vs performance unify protect can not be beat. It is a self hosted with a hybrid cloud approach with no subscription costs.It has all the smart detections as the cloud providers without the high costs of being fully in the cloud
Mechanical build quality is good, and image quality is very good, but not great, even set at 16000 kbits/sec and 24 FPS. I recognize that there’s a substantive bit of compression going on here, and these are designed as security cameras and not TV news cameras. What’s very discouraging is that 2 out of the 4 copies I bought have enough condensation on the lens that they’re unusable at temperatures below 65F. That doesn’t bode well for the coming winter. When I get junk $10 electronics items shipped with desiccant packets, why can’t Ubiquiti include them in a $435 camera?
I have purchased a few of these already and I have zero regrets. No issues with stability or video quality what so ever. I highly recommend this camera.
Its 4k. Its crisp and nice to look at. Has auto-focus which works well. Adoption was easy to the UVNR. Person detection works from edge to edge of the viewing angle and easily detects people across the street. Side note - it detects dog butts as people but not when the dog is facing the camera lol
It’s a really solid camera for household, and sharp image quality, but the FPS and night vision can be improved from my pov.
B&H's website doesn't appear to allow me to edit my review, so since I bought 4 of these puppies, I'm allowed to write 3 more reviews. I made very good progress today on reducing the condensation by slipping an oven mitt over the mounted camera for 10- to 15-minute periods today. As soon as the mitt slips on, the IR LEDs turn on, and the camera steps up to its full POE power draw. After 10 to 15 such treatments, most of the moisture appears to be driven out of the RJ-45 jack. I'm not sure where the moisture ultimate escapes because the camera appears to be well gasketed. If this problem stays resolved, then I think the camera merits a 4-star rating.
I replaced Hikvision 4MP Outdoor Bullet Camera DS-2CD2642FWD-IZS that had 2688 x 1520 Resolution at 20 fps IR LEDs for Up to 98.4' of Night Vision, 2.8-12mm Motorized Varifocal Lens, Input and Output for 2-Way Audio WDR, 3D DNR, and backlight compensation enable the camera to capture clear images in ambient lighting.The G4-Pro Camera is great, easy features to focus, 3x Optical zoom and then 4x digital zoom. The built in microphone is a great feature for no additional wiring etc all part of PoE connection. If you want to get the most from this Camera add UDM-PRO that has built in NVR.
