It's not super easy to make but in the end the product looks great and works well. This was our first build and we're going to definitely be doing more. My 8 yr old waxed and removed parts while I assembled. We got it done in about two hours. Lots of excitement, huge smile, and the big hug was all worth it!

The packaging, visual design, and manufacture of the pieces for the mechanical flower are just fine. The assembly illustrations are quite good, too. But, there are problems with the assembly. I watched the entire build video after running into problems on pages 10, 11, and 12 of the instructionsl. I notice the filmed builder had some of the same problems I encountered. The internal gears were binding and the petals would not move. In the video, the builder disassembles the bottom of the model and makes adjustments...twice. Eventually, the gears start moving properly. But, each time the builder took things apart, he removed parts number 2, 4, and 13 quite easily. He just snapped them out and snapped them back in. The tooth picks are useless, and I could never get the gears to spin at all. The key shaped gears never stayed in place. It would make me so frustrated having to take it apart a million times. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone ever.

We got our kit from a small local toy store. My 9 year old put this together almost all by himself. Waxing all the gears helped a lot. We appreciate the extra pieces as he broke one of the decorative flourishes but most of the pieces came away from the base nicely. It is beautifully crafted and made project. And it kept my son busy for a few hours.
Great design. I understand that you don't want to give the design away. too many people would copy. BUT you could give a run down on the mechanism you used. It would make it educational as well.. anyway. loved it and will learn from it.
I loved this gift, my daughter attempted to assemble it the day after receiving it. A few pieces snapped, but we glued them together. Piece #4 was not mentioned in the assembly instructions, so it sat unused after assembly. It was inoperable at the end, so we are assuming that piece #4 was quite important in the rotation of the opening of the flower. It would be nice to know what went wrong so we can fix it so she can fully enjoy the gift.
So much fun to put together, you need patience, but the end result it amazing. These puzzles are quality pieces and work! This is one of the basic models and I'm excited to try my next. Remember, be patient and take your time. Also, if you get stuck there are several amazing You Tube videos for each model which are very helpful. ENJOY!!
Very impressed. It's been fun putting together all 3 of the UGEAR models I have tried. Precise engineering, easy to follow instructions, and you don't need glue. Well done!
Spent hours and hours trying to put it together and it it just fell apart. Very poor instructions. Put together with toothpicks. I don't recommend this for any age. Very poor design.
My granddaughter finds things like this intriguing. So I am hoping that she enjoys putting it together and then has a beautiful item to display. Since she is a little ballerina herself, I find it to be very appropriate for her and very pretty.
