I bought this for SD Cards. The other key point was the USB3 transfer rate. I needed to make a data storage drive for a new tablet and used a 1TB SD Card, transferring over 500 gigs of data from my PC's USB3 port. Time required was less than a day including stops due to various file issues. I was seeing over 22MB/sec transfer rate compared to 7 MB/sec using USB2 hardware. The only negative point is the 18 inch USB3 cord. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase. Tech support was not used.

This reader replaced one that turned "gummy" it still worked but don't want to touch it anymore. So, the case on this reader is hard plastic, no more gummy, CHECK. The attached cable is about 24 inches, Check. The cable is hard-wired into the reader, no more looking for the old B style USB Cable to be able to use it, CHECK. The cable is USB 3, CHECK. It is automatically found when plugged in, CHECK.So overall it does what it says, I did not analyze the speed but it shows the 300 pictures on the screen pretty quick and the transfers from the card to the PC are super quick. The case looks and feels well built. I would recommend this and if I need another reader I would buy this one again. I recently went to plug in one of my 128 gb micro SD cards, and it would not work. The smaller cards still did, but the 128 would no longer work. I tried with an adapter and all I got was "write protected" I said I'll try in the tf card slot, and nothing came up on my pc at all. The pc didn't even register a card was inserted in the tf card slot. I contacted support and explained my whole situation between 4 emails so far, and they told me I didn't hit the "lock" switch on my micro SD card which by the way doesn't have one. On a side note, I know there is a problem with sandisks 128gb micro sd card, however, with an adapter it would still show what was on the card, it just wouldn't let me do anything with the info except view it. Which means if I plug it in to the tf card slot, which originally worked for the 128gb card, it should have done the same thing.

This reader is fast! And it works great with multiple slots for every kind of card. It's compact and sturdy.I'm a professional motorsports photographer and I need all of my gear to work perfectly. I had a more expensive Lexar "Professional" reader that I thought would last for years. A couple of month ago I was at an IndyCar race. I was working in the media center the Lexar reader failed. The USN connector failed. Fortunately, one of the other photographers shared his reader me. I looked at a few replacement readers on Amazon and found this one. It's worked perfectly since I got it. And its just as fast as the reader it replaced!

I bought this card reader to supplement my new Epson Ecotank All-In-One printer/scanner/copier which does not have any memory card ports. I use my Canon G3 Powershot digi-camera constantly and my old HP Officejet 7210 to transfer snapshots to my PC for cropping color definition etc. and then print them. But ink is no longer available for that so the new Epson looks to solve the ink problem and this UGREEN SD Card Reader reads the G3 CompactFlash card quickly and is small and USB friendly under Windows 7.Reasonably priced, easy to use, no setup required, true plug & play. Another problem solved!

I guess "LED indicator will be ON when the card reader is connected to computer. " is up for interpretation. I hoped this means "logically connected". Nope. It's just a power LED. It's just another USB card reader to me, nothing special. If you're going to bother to put an LED in, also use a controller in that can show status. Most of the other ones I know of use dark to indicate disconnected (including in software, when you umount it and use udiskctl to power it off), blinking for reading/writing, and steady on for logically connected and waiting. I have a Kingston which is similar (with an LED that works like described), but its slot that I use the most is not reliable anymore (worn out perhaps?). I was looking for this to be its replacement. I have seen reviews that say this device is super slow. All I can say is they must have bad media or they are doing something wrong. I purposely left my 128gb sd card full so i can test the transfer when i received this device. The transfer speed was 90.2mbps and 112gb transferred from sd card to PC in less than 20 minutes instead of the usual nearly 2 hours it used to take.Make sure you plug this device into the BLUE USB 3.0 port. If you use the older 2.0 ports the transfer speed will be terrible. You MUST use the blue ports for fast speeds. I recommend this product.
