UHU glue in the .74 ounce sticks are perfect for my high school art classes. The thicker stick makes gluing go more quickly and the sticks don't dry out as much. UHU glue goes on smoothly so it doesn't wrinkle more delicate papers. I buy these every year and they stay sticky and are able to be used to the end of the stick, much better than cheap glue sticks, they are also acid free so they are good for artwork.

While Uhu is a little more expensive than most glue sticks, it will last. They are super sticky and hold projects together so well. More important, it will last through hundreds of projects. I find with cheaper glue sticks, they disappear so quickly and my students were constantly asking for new glue sticks. With Uhu the only issue you will run into is its strength and stickiness.

Fast drying time. Strong hold. I use it for everything when building creative boards - holding down pictures, fabric, buttons, etc. I have used it to glue pieces of plastic onto faux leather high-heels - made a rainbow around them. It holds up!

I've tried wrinkle-free glue sticks, and always come back to UHU, they are great. My go-to glue stick and you can't beat the price. Being blue when applied allows you to see where you've put it. It dries clear.
I use UHU glue sticks in some of my own artwork because it works! And, as a K-12 art educator I included UHU glue sticks in my art department supply orders for students' use in art projects. UHU glue sticks willcreate a secure bond (when used on surfaces recommended by the manufacturer) that will not disappoint by having collage elements peel away from the compositional surface over time. That said, it is possible to make adjustments in position as you work. UHU is agreeable as you work with it, and adheres securely once you've made your design decision.
I really don't mess around with other brands of glue sticks anymore. A bookbinder recommended UHU glue sticks to me years ago and I've never regretted my purchases since then. Be sure to teach your students how to care for them--keep the glue surface just slightly above the collar when using and wind them down flat before screwing on the tops. I can get through most of a school year with the same glue sticks if they are cared for properly. It is great to have a quality product.
