Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 Speaker - Active Black

This little speaker packs a punch! I definitely didn’t expect the sound quality to be so good! It has great base and crisp clear sound and is LOUD. The best part is that the battery lasts 14 hours!! It has an outside mode and podcast mode that changes the volume and pitch of the sound. It’s completely waterproof so I dont need to worry about any accidents happening with it. We use this speaker outside on the deck, by the pool and at the track.

The wonderboom4 delivers fantastic sound quality, especially given the compact size and how lightweight it is! I love the hook at the top to tote it on a backpack when hiking or at the pool, you can even hang it on a plant hook on the patio to deliver portable sound. The fact it floats and is waterproof is great for peace of mind and not worrying about getting it wet on adventures. I have an older ultimate ears speaker called megablast that is much larger than this and I will say that one gives more base, but it also weighs way more and is not very portable like this one! At full blast I don’t think the quality of sound holds true, but as middle and high middle this is so good and is plenty for smaller spaces!! I received this speaker for free for my honest review.

Great compact speaker

Overall this is a good compact speaker, the sound quality is good for the range of different music I listen to. It has different functions which change the audio so you can get clear sound for podcasts too, a good feature. I found that the speaker needs to have clearance all around, against a wall the sound was impaired. One issue is that the on/off button is tiny and offers no resistance but the speaker makes a loud noise to indicate that it is on. Conversely the volume up/down buttons are huge and very easy to use (yes the big + and - on the front!). I have a classic car with no radio so I tried out the speaker as an option, the sound quality in the enclosed vehicle was not as good as when the speaker is in the open but was reasonable. Great sound quality!

This great little speaker arrived very well packed in a cleverly deigned fully recyclable box, without any nasty plastic packaging. Set-up was incredibly easy with instant connection to my Bluetooth which remained uninterrupted from one end of the garden to the other. The sound for such a small speaker is amazing; crisp, clear and with a lot of bass. The controls are quite intuitive, being limited to 3 discreet buttons on the top, and a very obvious volume up or down on the front (although a couple of friends have pointed out that from a distance the + and - looks like a crucifix...). Admittedly I haven't dropped the speaker or left it out in the rain, but the design does look and feel very robust, with a securely closed charging portal flap, and a handy elasticated loop to hang this up for best audio positioning. All-in-all I think this is a great little speaker; good for indoors but really fantastic for taking outdoors, for personal use in the garden, but also powerful enough for larger social events, and ideal for holidays.

Greta compact speaker

Great speaker! It's smaller than I expected but it really packs a punch. Music sounds great and as the volume is increased it doesn't sound "tinny" like some speakers do. It has 360 degrees speakers so the sound is really thrown around the room. Comes with a universal charger and easy to read instructions. Set up is super quick too as I was playing music from it within 30 seconds of opening the box! Ive had a few speakers from popular brands and this is just as good if not better. Can't wait to take this away on holiday with us as it's waterproof too and floats in water.

I also love that its a 360 speaker so no compromise with it facing a certain direction.It also has a handy little loop which appears to be really sturdy so you can easily attach via a carabiner clip or something.Im struggling to think of anything negative to say about this little speaker but if I had to say something, the power down noise is quite foreboding. . .can't explain it, just dont like the way it makes me feel in fact the first time both me and my partner heard it we looked at each other and said 'NOPE'!

I was initially sceptical as to whether it would make a difference, but if you enjoy podcasts, you'll appreciate this facility, which seems to make the voice quality more comfortable and clear.The design/aesthetic is really neat and unobtrusive, and for something so small, it certainly packs a punch. Whatever you like to listen to, I don't think you'll be disappointed with the quality, and it's great value at this price.

The Wonderboom is a small speaker but for its size the sound quality is excellent.From taking it out of the box it was easy to pair via Bluetooth to my phone as well as my sons phone. In the short amount of time I have had the speaker I have not had a chance to test the podcast mode but the outdoor mode does give a better sound outdoors.The Wonderboom is waterproof and can be dropped and seems rugged as haven't tested these features!According to the info the Wonderboom can last up to 10 hours between charges. Of course, the effective battery life will depend on how loud you play your music. But on using it for various times over the last week or so I have not had to charge it yet!It gets impressively loud and its performance is solid and it can easily fill a room with sound or outdoors too.Overall I think for the sound quality and ruggedness it is good value for money.

Wonderboom 4 Review

The speaker was very easy to set up for someone who isn't particularly tech savvy, I switched on the speaker, picked up my phone straight away and notification was instantly available to connect to.Looks good, sleek and modern with a great little hanging loop/hook for the garden, shower or anywhere else that you'd perhaps like to use it.
