Umbra Otto Automatic Soap Dispenser White

I just had to share this amazing product. I received this awesome soap/sanitizer dispenser. I wasn't sure about having on. But I am in love ... So in love I bought 4 more . The sleek design is perfect for any room. It comes in either black or white. You must use liquid soap or liquid sanitizer. Not gel , foam or granulated. I had liquid sanitizer and it worked perfectly. I also had gel soap and I diluted it slightly and it is wonderful. What I like about this product is that there is no contamination. During these times no one is touching the pump to get sanitizer. And in the kitchen when cooking it is easy to clean your hands with no cross contamination. DOES NOT WORK ON HAND SANITIZERS

I was excited that there's a product out there for hand sanitizers, so I purchased four of these for my company and added liquid hand sanitizers. All four worked like a charm on day 1. After two weeks, one stopped dispensing. I looked online and the only troubleshoot was for clogging, but the viscosity for liquid hand sanitizer is similar to water, so I called and had this replaced. Great little soap dispenser

Great product and great use at the kitchen sink, use it for washing dishes and only have to wave the brush in front to get a small squirt of soap to keep going with the scrubbing! Works great.I have found a few slight difficulties when first using it with the thickness of the soap, I typically used between Dawn and Myers’s dish soap, when first setting up I used Dawn and had a heck of a time with the soap draining back from the spout where you would need to wave 3-4 times to get it to come out. After the first week of that I was pretty disappointed so thought I’d try the other type of soap I’m used too. Literally DOES NOT WORK

I bought two of these a week ago. First, the screw on the bottom comes screwed in wayyy too tight. Near impossible to open without wearing your screw or screwdriver down. Once we were over that hassle, this dispenser refuses to work. The first unit worked a few times (dispensing the tiniest amount of soap, but maybe you appreciate the novelty??) and then stopped. We’ve tried everything from changing batteries to thinning out the soap, to adding warm water. Nothing. Legit refuses to budge lol. The second unit has not even worked once. I don’t have my receipt otherwise I would return this ASAP. Would not recommend regardless of how good it looks.

Nice Look, inconsistent dispense, small capacity

The unit looks really nice, modern, and sleek; nice to have automated dispensing of dishwashing soap as a convenience. The design could be improved. For how tall it is (too tall), it holds a very little amount of soap - I have to refill every day or every other day depending on usage. The sensor is very inconsistent, some times you have to hold your hand or sponge at a certain angle or lighting to get it to recognize and dispense. :( The base is a bit unstable, I had to remove the rubber part for it to sit properly and not tip over. The button to turn on and off is also inconsistent, works sometimes, but sometimes you have to press really hard or multiple times. For the price and how expensive it is, it could have been made a bit better.

Useless!

I bought 2 of these at the same time - big mistake! Neither work as one would hope they should. I put brand new batteries in them and filled them with soap.....they work when they feel like it, nothing to do with movement just as and when. I am going to return them both as faulty as they are definitely not fit for purpose. I have a friend who has the simple human version - it works as it should, when it should. I guess you get what you pay for. All the same, if it is a sensor soap dispenser, it should work. Very unhappy customer.

Very nice when was working

Very stylish design, working well (when was working) and we will really miss it. I was really curious what went wrong, so I opened up and look inside. Here is my conclusion. The whole thing is hanging in balance because of 2 little rubber gaskets of the screws used to attach the gear pumping mechanism to the DC electrical motor case. These gaskets were of bad quality or during the assembly, were damaged so now during the 10 months of usage, the soap start going slowly into the motor. A better interior design would have prevented this situation. Because of these very cheap gaskets we will need to throw the entire device into the garbage. Where is save the planet and sustainability. I will do my part and try to save it, fixing it.

The Otto Sensor Soap Pump by Umbra is a great addition to my kitchen sink. It has become an invaluable tool in my kitchen cleaning process. The soap pump works as expected and looks great sitting on the edge of my sink.I use this soap pump multiple times each day. It dispenses a perfect amount of liquid soap to wash hands or a dish. I have never used an automatic soap dispenser before but after using the otto I will never go back to not having one. I love how it dispenses the correct amount of soap each time which keeps the kids from using too much. It also makes it more fun fo them so they want to do the dishes, sometimes,.It matches the decore of my kitchen great with the metal finish. The blue light is also great because it gives some feedback when putting something under it to get soap.I've been using this for over a month and have not had to change the batteries at all and it is still working just as great as it did on day one. Umbra cheerfully sent new s replacement, & when that one failed, sent the following:Please try the following steps:1) Turn unit offa. Remove topper- and continue the below steps2) Remove the soap from the dispenser3) Fill with hot water4) Let stand for approx.. 20 min5) Turn unit back on6) Place hand under sensor and let the water dispenser through until empty7) Once empty, refill with soap.That should do the trick. We also recommend this is done about quarterlyI didn't expect it to work because I'd never used anything but alcohol, which couldn't have clogged, but it did work!
