I have a smaller waist and larger butt/thighs and am 5'4", so when it comes to shorts of any brand (athletic or casual) the ones with a longer inseam just don't look/sit right on my frame. They normally look balloon-ish because they bunch up at the largest part of the quad. I normally buy shorts with a shorter inseam (3") so that there is less fabric bunching up. With these shorts, I can finally say I've found a pair of longer shorts that lay flat from the waist through the quad. I usually don't run in shorts due to the shorter inseams and chafing, but this longer inseam short was so comfortable to run in! No chafing, no riding up, no restrictive leg openings!

I love love love these shorts!!

I have every color of these 5" shorts. And I would buy even more if new colors are offered. I do have the 3" version, but I am 73 years old and walk 10 miles a day and feel much better in this length at my age! I am 5'3 & 1/2" height and 121lbs. most of the time and feel very comfortable in size small. Please offer more colors for us older gals and please keep side pockets on the shorts!!!

Like the cut and feel, BUT poor quality

I like the cut and feel of Play it Up 5' short. They are comfortable for walking/lounging, but too heavy and bulky for running or training. I use them for days at school and rocking up to swimming (easy to pull on over bathers). After a week or so, the material has started piling which is not a classy look for new shorts. I am pretty disappointed in the quality of the shorts and this abysmal occurrence. I would not recommend purchasing and would suggest purchasing from another brand. I pick Under Armour because I have a 5 year old pair of shorts that I absolutely adore and wear for everything from running, cross training, HIIT, walking, everyday wear. I had really hoped these would be similar and was disappointed, to say the least.

Love These!
14 March 2024

I ordered two pair of these amazing shorts & wish I had ordered more. They are now out-of-stock. They are the perfect weight - not too sheer, not too heavy & I really like the longer length. They are not too long as to look "old ladyish"!! They washed beautifully but I didn't put them in the dryer.

Perfect Length!
16 March 2024

I have been wearing the Play Up shorts for several years, and I’ve always wished they were a little longer. I debated trying these because I was worried that 5”would be too long, however, they are perfect! As a mom of four, I still want a sporty short, but appreciate a little extra coverage. The pockets are great as well! For reference, I am 5’ 4” and 120 lbs, and a small was a good fit.

Perfect Shorts

Love these UA Play Up 5” Shorts, have at least 8 Pairs. Length hits thigh just right and love the variety of colors. Having pockets, and the price sold me on these. After several washing, shorts hold up very well.

Perfect shorts
28 January 2024

I love many UA shorts, but these are the best. They fit exactly like the shorter (3") Play Up shorts, but they give a little extra length. I'm tall and the others are so short it can be a bit revealing, but these cover everything well. I was a bit worried they would look like grandma shorts, but they have the same flattering look and fit-- stylish and practical. Plus the pockets! If you, like me, want the Play Up shorts but longer, this is it!

Size not accurate
16 April 2023

I was really excited that UA came out with a 5” inseam short since I have a bubble butt that never seems to fit into anything unless it’s spandex.Unfortunately the inseam is only 4.5” when it states 5”. The shorts are really nice but the waist band is really chunky. I like the band part that says “under armour” but the material behind it makes it bulky. It also doesn’t have enough room for a butt. In order to fit my butt I have to pull the front up quite a bit which bags out and isn’t attractive.

These are great!

I bought these to try and see if the 5" length would work out for me. Happily these fit great and I really enjoy the extra length. I was always pulling the 3" length down if I was bike riding or doing similar activites. These 5" shorts are great. Also, I usually buy a size larger in this style with the 3" length (wear a M but buy a L) because I like a looser fit. These fit but the cut seems looser and while I purchased a L and they fit (a bit baggy) I think I could have gone with my normal size of M. I will keep the Large and buy another pair in a Medium to see if I'm right.
