Most of friends have apollos and I was the last one to purchase one. It made recording easy. It made my mixes sound 1000% better. I would recommend the Apollo to anyone who is recording music. The plug-ins are Amazing it gives me the option to record with them. Just an all around interface that gives a home studio the best sound

I do a fair amount of recording and this unit is a substantial upgrade over the Focusrite Solo, which is also quite good. The Unison preamp in this thing, running a UA channel strip in DSP, just sounds really warm and analog without surrendering any detail. I don't know if I'll get the extra $200 in value out of the plugins that come with the Heritage Edition but with the superb quality of the UA stuff running in DSP, I was willing to spend the extra money and I'm not disappointed.

I bought this because even with an i9 Mac I couldn't get the latency to be acceptable for recording with my previous interface. The sound is great and the included software does an excellent job of handling a virtual input desk. It's fast, it's clean. The only downside is that the plugins are so amazing that come with it, you'll want to spend thousands of dollars on collecting the whole set. They're tremendous.Even with the ones that came with this interface, I was able to build a virtual preamp setup that absolutely elevated the recording I was doing. Exceptional.10/10 would purchase again.

Used for personal recording of guitar, bass, keys, vocals, and wind instruments as well as live zoom lessons. This product does exactly what it advertised; no gimmicks. As simple as plug n play after registering the product. The plugins included are enough to get any serious musician started in their recording endeavors. The big deal for me was having an interface that could have effects real-time over zoom lessons without eating up precious computer RAM. As with most plugins, setting up with Logic X Pro is very simple too. Universal Audio has the highest standards in the industry for their plugins, so make sure you budget for buying additional plugins.
I swapped out the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 in my home studio for this and the difference is unreal. It's not on the level of the Antelope Orion 32 in my band's studio but for the price I paid the upgrade is significant.I think the biggest differences are in the Unison pre-amp, which is an unbelievable technology from UA, and their added dynamic range. The single SHARC processor in this bad boy runs the included UAD plug-ins, which are right up there with my Softubes stuff, in real-time during tracking. Awesome.I maybe should have went with the duo version, which has two SHARCs in it and can run more plug-ins at a time, but so far I've managed. The controls are intuitive. I figured everything out without touching the manual. It does make little clicking sounds at times which, after looking into it, are normal. It's only USB 3.0, with a maximum bitrate of 5Mb/s which is well under Thunderbolt, let alone TB3, but it's not going to matter with audio tracking. If you plan on mixing a lot of tracks at once consider a duo/quad and thunderbolt 3 (if you can.)
This audio interface replaced my Universal Audio Volt 2, which was a great interface, but I wanted a little more. This along with the bundled software and plug-ins has been a game changer for me. Once I get a little more comfortable with the UA experience, I'll likely be stepping up to an Apollo Twin.
The functionality is great - being able to monitor with zero latency through autotune and compression. But this interface is so insanely buggy and problematic - at least on Apple Silicon. For example, since purchasing this I've discovered that according to UA, 'sleep is not supported', meaning every time you close the lid of your Mac it will crash the entire Mac system and restart everything, losing your work if you're not careful. I've also had sessions massively disrupted by the interface repeatedly disconnecting and causing crashes in Ableton. Today I simply couldn't get it to turn on for about ten minutes at the start of my session. not sure I would recommend it because of this. But if the bugs are resolved, this would be an incredible interface.
I upgraded from a Tascam 2-input interface. Don't get me wrong, the Tascam was good but UA aren't lying when they say that the Apollo series has studio standard audio quality. The preamps alone just make such a huge difference to the sound.
