Unmatched Battle of Legends Volume 1

There are so many combinations you can have and once you get one you want the rest.

This my least favourite of the unmatched series. I love Unmatched and have had some real fun with other sets, this set is a good to addition. just don’t start with this one, these characters feel unbalanced to by themselves and can make you frustrated how badly you get beaten because your character doesn’t have a chance.Cobble and fog is the best starter in my opinion. Buy this after cobble and fog.

A great set to start playing Unmatched

Perhaps the best Unmatched set to start with; the selection of Fighters covers some diverse characters with some interesting effects within the system. Unmatched is a highly rated card-driven asymmetric miniatures game that is attractive and very playable.The game box itself contains a tray with specific slots for all the components, which greatly assists set-up and take-down. You'll find yourself wanting other sets to add extra maps and Fighters to expand your play options.

A quick-playing asymmetrical skirmish game

This game was a lot of fun. It plays quickly, and the heroes all feel different. There's some luck involved, but it also feels as if smart plays are generally rewarded. Overall a very enjoyable game.

Fun Skirmish Game

Overall, I thoroughly enjoy how this game plays. The rules seem simple and straight-forward while the variability of each character deck gives me something to figure out. I've not played all the characters, but I have enjoyed all those I've played so far.The only negative I can think of is some of the characters seem to be better able to overcome the randomness of drawing cards. By no means does this keep me from playing it just causes some minor frustration when playing those characters. All-in-all, a fun fighting game pitting unexpected characters against one another.

Silly Game, But Far More Fun Than Expected

As silly as it may seem to have mythical characters from different series battle, it actually works quite well. The game has interesting gameplay and a good amount of replayability. While I normally prefer heavier games, this title has earned a spot on my shelf as well.

So much Fun

They should call Unmatched you have to collect them all. BOL Vol. 1 was my first box and the one most people recommend as your first UM box. It's nice having 4 characters right out of the box and the characters are all fun and good for different play styles. Too bad the game is being vaulted by RG.

Unmatched Battle of Legends: Volume 1

Started playing Unmatched recently and ended up jumping in head first. Battle of Legends: Volume One is a solid set to start with since the characters’ abilities tend to be a little less complex than some of the later sets, but the characters themselves are still a lot of fun to play. Medusa is probably one of the easiest heroes to learn the game as, with a special ability that lets her deal 1 direct damage at the start of her turn. King Arthur hits like a truck thanks to his ability to boost attacks, and Merlin has some fantastic schemes that can completely rearrange the battlefield. Sinbad has been the character to beat from this set for my gaming group; even if you spend half the game throwing his best cards in the discard pile, the movement increase alone will exhaust other fighters who can’t keep up with him.
