I have an 18yo high-mileage engine where the manufacturer normally specifies 5w30, but some mechanics recommend a slightly thicker oil to compensate for the increased clearances in worn and tired high-mileage engines (NOT recommended for VVT engines as they require a specific oil pressure to function correctly).So far my engine seems to cold-start, warm up, and run a little smoother than what it did with 15w40 oil... especially in combination with 95/98 octane petrol.My only gripe with this product is that it's not a complete 5L, instead it's only around 4.5L. My engine has an oil capacity of 4.3L, plus around 200ml for the oil filter. This "5L" bottle only barely filled my engine, where normally I have around ½ a litre spared for top ups.
It's the oil recommended for my make and model of car. Has worked as intended and i would purchase again.
store knowledge-range & price . I always run Valvoline Engine Armour in my Suzuki Sierra for many reasons 1st is proven best for my car . No tapping noise in top of the engine ,no smoke or oil use as i mainly use low range 4x4 . Which any other oils i have tried just not in the same class in quality by a long way . I now use it in my gsxr motorcycle without hesitation with the same reliability performance and quality .
I let this pulse through my 4.7 for 5 000 km and when I drain it it's still golden. I love to see that and if the sun catches it at the right angle in the late afternoon it glistens. I wish I could show you this. Maybe later. After 300 000 km I feel it's a testament to the quality of the oil, along with short intervals. Result - longer engine life. Lets look at it at 700 000 km. Maybe, by then, I can show you a photo of sunlight glistening through 5 000 km golden used oil. Let me work on that.
