Our house is tiled so I bought this for cleaning our couch and beds etc after trying another competitor brand and not liking it.Whilst it has a longer hose, it is quite heavy and has to be stretched out and doing so disconnects the water flow to the applicator which is a bit fiddly. The suction and cleaning however was much better than the other cleaner I had tried and I will continue to use. I like that this can be used on tiled floors too and will try this feature soon.

For the price and what is does it has been excellent value for money. I have used twice so far and havent had a chance to use all the attachments. But has done an excellent job! Not only cleaned the biege carpet but has made it softer too. Cant wait to try it on the dark carpet and the cars. Only thing is the hard floor cleaning doesnt work well with my flooring, but I think that is just my floors

I recently got the Vax Platinum PowerMax Carpet Washer and seriously, I cant stop raving about this machine. Firstly, everything comes in a neat cardboard box with recyclable packaging. The instructions are easy to follow, and the machine is straightforward to put together. The hand-held hose comes in a convenient mesh storage bag with a hanging hook making it so easy to store the attachments and accessories! Now to the carpet washer itself. 10/10, I love it! The power cable is very long and makes this machine very usable and you dont have to drag an extension lead around everywhere you go to wash, a great thought on the design. Another great design aspect to this machine is that the water tanks are flat on the bottom so they stand up by themselves and dont tip over, so great for when you want to fill/empty/wash the tanks. Not as good as I was hoping. Did lift some dirt from the carpet but left it looking streaky and still dirty in places. Will have to go over it again I guess. Our carpet is about 20 years old and has been cleaned before and even though we vacuumed prior, this machine pulled a lot of fibres from the carpet and was very hard to continually pull them out as they would block it up. The only way to do this was to stick my fingers in around the brushes and pull them out in wads, this had to be done many times. When we were done we had to find a YouTube video on how to clean it. It required a screw driver and undoing several screws to remove the brushes and even then it was not easy to clean with hard to reach places full of fibres and hairs etc, then screwed back together. ... MoreNot as good as I was hoping. The separate tank for the cleaning solution emptied very quickly barely enough to do one room. We ended up not using it and putting the solution directly into the main tank so we had more control over how much was used. Overall not impressed, have had much better results with the Britex ones you hire from Woolies.
Firstly I received great customer service from Francis at the watergardens goodguys.Product does a good job cleaning the carpet. I have a dog and a house that has 85% carpettes flooring. It took out mud stains, paw prints and even hair that the vaccum didnt get too. Left a nice smelling room behind. Cons takes times to do one room. Secondly If using the deep clean function, carpet is still a bit damp. But I can live with that, as on a hot day it dries out quickly. Have not tried the other attachements yet

Was impressed with the amount of dirt, sand & hair it removed. I really liked the fact it is quite wide and has so many brushes to clean the carpets. My last pass over was done in real slow motion to soak up as much water as possible. It wasn't as loud as I thought it would be and it wasn't hard to push around. It felt like it wasn't doing a great job vacuuming and was surprised at how dry it felt afterwards. Either this is a really good machine or my vacuum cleaner is crap. My carpets are probably as old as the house (built 1984), so i didnt really expect the floors to look perfect afterwards. Removing the front roller brush is a bit tedious because you have to remove 8 screws to take it off and doing that after you have just finished cleaning the carpets is a messy job because of all the gunk the machine collected. Design wise they could have had the bottom part fully removable and a flap that opens up to remove the dirt but that is the only downside. For the price, this machine is excellent. I'm old and thought I would struggle to use this but I had no issues at all. Very glad I bought this.
I was very pleased with this product. For the price, it was a high quality machine. I have 2 cats who sometimes vomit (cat law must vomit on carpet, not the tiles!) and I was able to get the stains out quite easily using the machine carpet solution and stain spray. I found it easy to use and manouver around the house. The only cons I could see where it is a bit loud and it was tricky to clean the head, but I did find a youtube video to help me. All in all, I was very impressed with the machine
I love this machine. Easy to assemble, good instruction manual. The power cable is nice and long which is one of the reasons I bought this particular model and the water tanks are a good size too. It washes my carpet beautifully. I recommend this machine if you want a DIY option to cleaning your carpets, especially if you have mess making pets or children.The only thing I would point out is the unit is on the heavy side so if you're not so able and agile I would get a smaller machine.
My first carpet shampooer and I'm not disappointed with the purchase. I love the versatility of the extra attachments - my son did his car interior and was very impressed with the results. It does take some trial and error to get the right technique but the results are excellent. I did have to refill the solution tank and empty the dirty water one a couple of times doing the one average sized living area but it was easy enough so no hassle.

But going over it afterwards with the Vax generated a huge amount of fluff. But not only did it generate fluff it stirs a lot of finer particles into the air. On the second room I found I couldn't breath it was so bad, I ended up wearing a mask. This is likely due to the 7 scrubbers which are nowhere near the vacuum head and follow it and aren't enclosed. A really bad design. But these chemicals are absolutely toxic. My nose was dripping endlessly the first 2 days and I couldn't sleep. I ended up doing another rinse cycle over the rooms which seemed to be a slight improvement but still a thick pungent smell. I went over a third time. Then I went over a fourth time but did 3 rinse passes. This was a bit better but after a few days there is still a heaviness in the air.Before I did the extra rinses touching the carpet with your skin would sting. I can't see how this is safe for children or pets.I did one room with Bosistos floor cleaner and it seemed to work okay and is the only room that isn't toxic. Bissells offer multiple cleaning solutions so perhaps some of those are better but I haven't tried them.I can't at all recommend this product. I'm not sure when my carpets will lose their poisonous smell
