I bought 4 large (4' x 2') remote controlled skylights. Have had them in almost daily use for 10 years and never had a problem!!! Did a complete $100,000+ remodel of my house but the best feature is the "worry-free" skylights! No leaking, no mechanical failure...I am really impressed!!!

I just contacted technical support because the skylight was not opening for the last few months. I was shown how to "fix" it. The screen had fallen and I did not realize there is a safety switch needing to have the screen installed to operate the opener. Once installed everything is great again. Very rapid and responsive tech support. Thank you

We recently re hilt our home after the Valley Fire destroyed our last home. The bright side of this is that we were able to build the home we dreamed of. We installed three skylights which open with the touch of a remote control. The light we get from outside fills our home beautifully. In the summer evenings, we simple open our skylights and windows, and the heat just blows up and out of our home in a matter of minutes. I highly recommend these skylights to anyone who has a desire for natural light and an inexpensive way to cook your home.

I have four of these in my house for over seven years. No leaks, and I love the idea about the rain sensor, which works great. The two points I would like is a battery backup should the power go off (or automatically closes upon power interruption), and an option for two shades, one for filtering and if it's still too bright or hot in the room, another for blackout. I had rain storms around the house after the power had been off for 30 minutes and couldn't close them manually as they are too high to get to. Fortunately the power was restored before the rains came.
We used VELUX windows for over 7 years. They are great! But the remote control didn't work these days. How can I fix it or where can I buy a new remote control? Thanks!
I purchased and installed the Velux VSE C06 2004 powered air vent last August. I had the unit installed in our kitchen and it provides natural sunlight daily. We love that with the push of a remote, the skylight silently opens to allow fresh air in and hot air out. I can't help showing off to neighbors and visitors, the easy of opening the unit. I was pleased you find out that a built in sensor closes the vent if it starts to rain. Very cool feature.
Need automatic ventilation for our tiny house . Our velux skylight allowed us to let fresh air in and stagnant air out automatically . We look forward to our second skylight installation
Needed to replace a older Velux unit. Had a seal failure. New one is updated and quality much improved. Velux should provide some type of owners manual. Nothing given or online.
I just finished installing my new Velux VSE skylight. The installation went well and the directions were fairly good. The online installation videos were also helpful. I think that the skylight is very well designed and the opening mechanism is ingenious. This skylight replaced an existing fixed skylight. The ability to vent and to have a factory-installed solar shade were the main selling points. I am pleased with both features.I have two items that disappointed me. The first is the fact that the vent operating mechanism and the shade consume a lot of the area that used to be glass on my fixed skylight. The effective open glass area is much less than I had anticipated. The first is the fact that the vent operating mechanism and the shade consume a lot of the area that used to be glass on my fixed skylight. The effective open glass area is much less than I had anticipated. This has greatly reduced the amount of light that enters the room as compared to our previous fixed skylight. Velux should advertise the effective open area as part of their literature. The other disappointment was the fact that one of the screws in the factory-installed blind track was not installed properly. It was loose and at a sharp angle when I discovered it. Unfortunately, this was after I tried to operate the blind for the first time. The blind severely racked, and I was forced to remove one side of the track to re-square the blind. I am hoping that there is no permanent damage. One final comment about the blind...When it comes from the factory it was held in place by red clips that must be removed before operating. I searched through all of the literature that I had and could not find out how they are to be removed. It was a bit frustrating. I still don't know if I removed them properly. As a final note, I received two remotes, one for the vent and one for the blind. It wasn't intuitively obvious which remote did what. They must be paired with the intended devices, so you can't just try the remote and see what runs. The remotes do not have the model numbers on them. For instance, the KLI 312 that I received doesn't have "KLI 312" printed on it anywhere. It is actually marked as a model BG-RC012-01. The KLI 110 also has no model number printed on it and no symbols on it to give you a clue about what it is for. You need to figure out that the remote with no house symbol on it (KLI 100) is a universal remote that can operate either the vent or the blind, but not both independently. I learned this the hard way when I had both the vent and the blind opening simultaneously. While my review sounds quite negative, once I overcame some of the obstacles noted above, I am quite pleased with the product and its overall quality. Thus the 4-star rating.
We have enjoyed our Velux skilight for years but the other day when I pushed the open wall button the motor just made an open sound for about 3 seconds then stopped My husband went on the roof and sprayed WD40 it worked about 3 times then stopped working It tries for about 2-3 seconds then stops Do we need a new motor and if so how do we install and where do we buy a new motor
