The orbic times out overnight. My old one did not. This one does. The solution I was given was to purchase another one and try again. Not very helpful. When I purchased the orbic in Uniontown PA, no place to sit, met at the door, all but dismissed when I needed to get put on the account (youngest daughter got kicked off because you can only have 3 people on an account at a time), and then options were really limited. This device is supposed to tell you how much data you've used out of your plan. It would be great if it were right once in a while! 8.9MB used/UNLIMITED. Is what mine says currently. I got a text message notification a day or so ago that said I had used all 100 gigabytes of my data for my hotspot! Imagine my surprise.So not only is it stupid expensive, but 100 GB doesn't get me through one month of JUST TV. I don't run my phone on the hotspot. I don't have any gaming devices connected to it. Only my Roku smart TV.Not to mention the battery life is non-existent. 1-4 hours without power TOPS. Why such a large range? Who knows! I have had it last from anywhere between 1 to 4 hours after a full charge! It's a guessing game. Verified the charger is fine, reached out to Verizon, who was wonderful and suggested I reach out to Orbic which I did. They said to buy a new battery, this is considered a use problem!! Have been using hot spots for years for work and personal. #1 one thing no body tells you when buy a hotspot pick the top tier plain they have to get beat speed from device.. I have speed tested this device in several area with speed 3+Gbps x 100+Mbps but on average on 5G UW 300+Mbps x 10+Mbps.. I also find in some cases I can pick up better signal on this hotspot then iPad or cell phones.. Love the Ethernet port which is great verse of options working in different fields where I might need to connect multiple non WiFi devices.. As for WiFi it has amazing range I use it when in sites where I get no cell signal I place this hot spot where I do get service and use wifi calling on my phones..Now few things need definitely need to be addressed. I have in jam taken battery cover off which sometimes helps, even used a portable fan to blow air on it.. best advice if your charging it keep it out of the sun which can be hard in car or truck.. I even hung by the charging cord in way to have it in front of truck vent on max AC to keep unit cool during charging and using it.. The other issue is very limited device settings such as custom DHCP, love to see VPN option which would be great option for companies.. The device does take pretty good beating but display cracks easily. A bothering fact and this device fault but make sure when you get any hot spot from Verizon or any provider check and make sure they disable messaging to device.. I was mad amount messages because of phone number from previous user.. which end up as extra fees to me..One more thing I would have love to see maybe as option in the future dual SIMS working in telecom and knowing every company has its area they thrive in or lack of coverage.. Or those who travel a lot to other countries this feature should be helpful. But also see the benefits of dual providers to increase service coverage and amp speeds when 5G Ultra not available..,

Everywhere south of that line except 3 small zones of wildlife reserves is giving me at least 4G.Id say I get 5G UW in over 70% of locations I stop at this point.So connectivity is no problem for me.Also as a tech enthusiast I'm very happy and even surprised at the amount of tinkering I can do with the admin page.I've been testing how it operates with a external router lately and so far it's good.I can't technically "Bridge" it but it's still been behaving itself the way I have the DHCP server setup.The fact that had an Ethernet port was one of those surprises I loved to see when I unboxed it.Being able to tether it with a USB is also nice.Being able ... MoreI drive a truck. When we go over our data we see 60kbps... full bars, or no bars, it works when it feels like it with no noticeable correlation between what it is doing vs what it shows. Clearing messages is a nightmare, navigating the menu is not fun, loses signal 10 to 20 times a day every day. Reset it and set it back exactly where it was and it works again. Figured the 4g was the bottleneck, did reserch to find 4g can run over 20mbps, had this for over a year and not 1 single time saw speeds above 1.8mbps for even a short time. Put my phone hotspot on with 2 bars of 4g and saw speeds of over 4mbps. The hotspot has 1 job and does it so poorly we dont even use it for what we bought it for. I have owned one of these for several months now. The features are great and the device works great except for the way the SIM card is secured in the device. It seems that it is rather delicately held in place and is not a super exact position. Unlike a typical smartphone, where you push a SIM card into a slot and it clicks in fairly exactly, this sits on top of a portion of the circuit board and there’s a sliding clamp that holds it in place. The card doesn’t seem to have to be in an absolutely precise spot to clamp in. I’ve had the SIM card error several times in the past but it would come back after a reboot, but not this time. This may be the most ridiculous purchase ever made by me. If you have Sonos products you know they must be connected to a network that you have access/control to/over. Not a problem while at home and in your house, but what if you want to set up a couple of speakers someplace that isn’t your home (say: tailgate, apartment community room, even someone else’s house bc they now know you have what it takes LOL). So if you’re wondering if this can run Sonos, yes, and if you’re wondering at all about the Ethernet port, well it works great and can be used in an Ethernet hub/switch. The reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is bc I’m not too sure about how fast this thing works. I mean fast enough for my needs of playing music (which I usually already have downloaded ahead of time on the device to play) but it just seems a bit slower than I’d like. But other than that, I’ve been happy.

I currently have a US cellular router but it has gotten so slow that I can not open emails. I got one of these to try out and so far, it’s been great. I only have 2 bars but it’s connected to my phone, my Ruko, and the wife’s laptop and we can still stream movies in 1080p. We have only had it buffer one time in the past month while using all these devices. I am going to test it with a connection to my desktop and if it still works great then I’ll get rid of the US Cellular crap. My original unit worked perfect. I was "forced" to purchase another because the batteries could no longer be purchased for that unit/to old. The second unit failed two years later and three used batteries later. In that time bars would flux between 1 or 3, got kicked off line numerous times. It finally died after purchasing and newer battery. Bought my 3rd unit, geek squad hooked up my tablet and laptop to internet! Returning home it worked, so pleased. Within hours it also failed. At that time a tech 'installed' on my phone a wifi connection through tether. I'm still waiting for the delivery of the labels to return my 3rd unit so Verizon will not keep charging me for 'both the broke 3rd unit and the now installed phone wifi-tether'.
