57 y/o Fixed pain. Buy it Now!

I have purchased two pair of the Xtreme on the recommendation of some bodybuilder friends and then some gym rats who are always killing it. I was right on the mark for the top end of the medium but needed to go up in size. Gave the first pair to my son and ordered the large. Perfect for pulling. But the best part for me as an older lifter is on pushing exercises. I guess the natural padding in my hand has changed over the years. For bench or pressing with BB or DB, these eliminated the pain I had in my hands. Much better than any gloves I tried and without the heat/sweat of gloves! 100% recommend!

I bought these for my boyfriend, he got me in to versa Gripps to begin with and I wanted to get him a custom pair for Christmas, he loves them so much! He had the pros prior and he said the XTREME is the best. He loves having his initials on the side, says it gives him an extra pump haha. Amazing quality, and when I had questions and wanted to change the colors, Oliver from their customer service team was right there emailing me back right away and helping me. I swear I changed colors like 3 times (boyfriend was inconsistent with his wants haha) and Oliver really went above and beyond! Love Versa Gripps!

Great grip and protection

Made in USA! And you can tell. Great quality of material and level of craftsmanship. As far as training is concerned, I use Versa grips for both pushing and pulling exercises. I train using the 5/3/1 program, which is based around four main lifts; bench, press, deadlift, squat. I use Versa Grips for all my main lifts.I use a false grip for standing shoulder press and initially it felt weird, like the bar would slip out of my hand, but it didn't move at all. It takes time getting used to, but they have a great video on proper use on their website. I wouldn't recommend using a false grip if you have smaller hands. For flat bench the grip feels solid. I want to mention that I use wrist wraps instead of Versa Grips when performing heavy singles on the bench since they provide more stability for the wrist. On the deadlift, I use Versa Grips anytime I'm doing more than 1-2 reps. The hook grip is too uncomfortable for high reps and I want to focus on the exercise rather than fiddle around with my grip mid set. For example, on a 5 rep set, I will do 3 reps with Versa Grips, and last two reps using hook grip. What's great about the Versa Grips, is that you don't need to over-tighten, so I can quickly rotate them to the top of my hand and continue the exercise after performing the "wrap" reps. The grip with these is superb. It feels like it shouldn't work, but it works amazingly well. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Love my Vera grips
15 March 2023

I feel like a pro wearing them and love that I got my initials on them.Idonno how but these things grip the bar better than anything else I've used and ive tried every fabric and type of straps. They are the perfect length and don't add too much diameter to the bar.I use em for bent over rows ( 315x10), Deadlifts (6 plates for a single). Love em for any back exercises and I'll wear em most of the time for general wrist support.Great Product. Great quality. Id buy another right now but I think these will last a long time which I'm thankful for in these days of planned obsolescence.(Says my name is Jane but it's her son John who is using them.)

No More Pain
5 April 2023

I had started experiencing concerning Carpul Tunnel symptoms affecting me both in and out of the gym. Regular workout gloves and wrist wraps did not seem to have any positive affect and my workouts were being hindered by wrist pain. My coach suggested for me to try Versa Gripps.I watched the short instructional video and headed to the gym. No wrist twinges or pain at all, easy to use and not cumbersome at all like gloves, wraps and straps can be. I also like that there is no issue in releasing the weight safely.Even before having issues in my wrists, my forearms would frequently exhaust before the muscle group I was working. With Versa Gripps, I am able to push myself harder in the gym while taking care of my hands and wrists. Overall Excellent
25 July 2022

These have made a considerable difference in my training overall. The grip is excellent and setting up is very easy compared to other grips and straps I’ve used. The only improvement I would suggest is the padding around the wrists. The padding itself is sufficient, but I find the foam part has a tendency to often fold under when I’m tightening the velcro. This is not a big deal, but if it were somehow fixed to the outer part, this wouldn’t happen. At worst, it’s annoying and takes 3-5 seconds to fix, but it’s something that could be addressed in future iterations. Overall, excellent grips though, and the very best I’ve used.

Perfect
29 September 2022

I've been training for 17 years and have only ever used your traditional straps for deadlifts and heavy pulls. I've also considered buying Versa Gripps for well over a year only to receive then last week and wish I would have made the purchase years ago. I love these straps for there ease of use and pulling exercises but am warming up to them on pushes. I'm a person who likes the knurling digging into my palms as I prep to push but understand the forearm and elbow concern for longevity. This is a great product, very well made, and a great add to any seriously lifters toolbox.

This “higher end” model does not compare to the original from 5 years ago
15 September 2022

The padding and velcro straps are much thinner than my original pair I bought over 5 years ago. These newer straps are uncomfortable. I’m hoping it just needs a break-in period. I expected equal if not greater build quality compared to my original pair, especially after paying a premium price for a higher end model. I’m disappointed in the drop in quality. 2 stars because it still gets the job done. Minus 3 stars for the discomfort and raising the price while halving the materials used.

WOW!
7 June 2023

If you struggle with pulls like I do, these are for you! On lat pulls or pull ups the first to give out for me is not just my grip but my hands that are all beaten up and callused! After using these, I felt like I could hang for minutes with comfort! Usually I hang for maybe 5 seconds (I'm a big guy). First day using these while doing pull ups and lat pulls and my hands were saved from the abuse and I could focus on targeting my back and lats for the first time without having to worry about my grip or hands! I was stoked! Great investment! 10 out of 5 stars! I can't wait to use them on deadlift as I bet these are just as good for them!

having mixed feelings about these…
27 August 2021

Just received them, and i’m already disappointed in the sizing. I measured my wrist like directed on the site, it was under 7in. so i decided to go with the small like suggested. I think they fit a little too snug, making it hard to spin them around to the top of the wrist when not using. I think the large would be much better. Also I have really big hands & long fingers, so I wish the straps were just a little longer. Hopefully after a few wears they will be broken in & fit better. I was going to return them & get the bigger size. But since I would have to pay for the shipping again, I’ve decided to just deal with them. Pretty ridiculous in my opinion to make your customers pay return shipping when I already spent $107 for these. But based off the other reviews, i’m still going to give them a shot. I hope this turns out positive & I enjoy these grips.
