If I could post 'no stars' I would have. This is the worst piece of equipment I've ever purchased. The wheels are thin plastic with no weight, tread or grip, the barrel of blades is reluctant to push forward but has no problem rotating when pulling the mower backward (not that it cuts when moving in reverse). I get one run if I'm lucky before it locks up. The wheels do not rotate in damp grass, they skid when pushed. I use multiple applications of WD40 on every crevice I can find around the components but to little assistance. Lesson to me, keep receipts. However, would it have helped had I kept the receipt? I see in the Returns & Refunds policy, the product has to be unused and in original packaging. How can you gauge satisfaction without assembling and trying it out?

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Aside from being difficult to put together, it’s completely rubbish when it comes to mowing the lawn. I couldn’t even get it to mow a single area of grass. It kept getting stuck, jamming, and then turning so it cut a few blades then stopping again. I purchased this to have for days when I couldn’t be bothered filling up my petrol mower. But I’ll be returning and putting the money towards an electric one instead. This is honestly the worst piece of equipment I’ve ever bought.

Good exercise, but the catcher is an ornament

I bought this today, assembly was straight forward. Gives a beautiful cut.Unfortunately I started with grass being too long which made it hard work. The catcher makes a good ornament. It probably caught half grass I cut; and it didn't take much before the weight of grass clippings upset the balance of the machine. (I had been reminiscing about the good old school heavily built reel mowers made of cast bronze. This machine is far too lightweight to compare with them).$145 is cheaper than a 3 year gym membership though, and it's great aerobic exercise. Bring it on!

Great when used as intended

I bought this for fun just to try the experience of hand mowing my medium size lawn. I think many of the bad reviews are due to incorrect setup, use, or misunderstanding of the product. This is an economy grade product for light duty home use and for that purpose, I feel it is excellent value. It’s very light and easy to use and the quality of cut is exceptional, much cleaner than any rotary mower. The only flaw I found was the handle is a little flimsy, but I will fix that by using better nuts and bolts to clamp it tighter than is possible with the plastic wingnuts. Some things to keep in mind are 1. The cutting blade is adjustable, if it isn’t cutting evenly or is noisy and hard to push, follow the instructions to adjust the blade, it’s very simple. 2. You will not cut a messy overgrown lawn properly with a push mower, it needs to be used regularly to keep the lawn short, and debris needs to be raked away first. 3. You will need to learn a bit of technique to get the most from it, but once you are familiar it becomes extremely fast and easy to keep a well mowed lawn, It’s actually quicker than using a rotary mower as you can walk very quickly without spoiling the cut. Next time I will buy a better a better quality unit but for those on a budget, it’s certainly worth a try.

Perfect and light weight for my terraced backyard
11 December 2022

Happy as with this product. So light weight to carry up and down my 4x terraced backyard and cuts well.I usually spend up to 90min weed whacking the terraces but I get the job done in 30 with this push mower. Stoked !I recommend maintaining once every 7-10 days as it is easier to push on short grass than long, unkempt lawns. It doesn’t cut long stalks (for example dandelions, yellow) very well at all but that’s a minor issue really.

Perfect mower for regular maintenance
2 August 2022

This product is not for everyone. If you enjoy a bit of exercise and now your lawn regularly, this is the way to go. My first time mowing I had ankle deep grass, was a bit challenging but got it done. For regular maintenance of grass, this is just amazing. Leaves a better finish than a rotary mower. No wires, no petrol, no major sound and you aren't going to send a stone or twig flying into a child or window with this thing. I know I'm going to mow my lawn more regularly just because all I have to do is get this out of the shed. I know my neighbours will appreciate the fact that they can have an afternoon nap without hearing the annoying sound of a petrol mower anytime soon. The only negatives I can site is that it can require a little jiggle of the internal blade ... MoreThis product is not for everyone. Overall satisfied with the product and would recommend reading the booklet and adjusting everything correctly if you decide to go this way.

So happy I gave this a try!
16 October 2021

I just bought it this morning and just finished mowing my lawns (back, side and front yard, all medium length buffalo grass with a few scattered weeds), it was perfect. Of course I went outside and picked up any sticks, dog poo, seeds/rocks before I mowed. Super easy to use, cuts fast and has multiple height setting which are easy to set and change, I didn’t use the catcher as it filled up fast and I couldn’t be bothered changing it every five meters. I had read many bad reviews but I’m so glad I went for it. Lawn looks even and healthy and tidy. Good exercise too! no gym required. Only thing is that you don’t want to push it if it gets caught, just give it a gentle turn over to a side and let the sticks or grass fall out before continuing. So thankful to never have ... MoreI just bought it this morning and just finished mowing my lawns (back, side and front yard, all medium length buffalo grass with a few scattered weeds), it was perfect. Success despite negative reviews
26 July 2021

I bought this for a small patch of grass to save me dragging my petrol mower up some steep stairs from my main lawn (we live on a steep hill) to the top of the property. I used a push mower years ago, but was a bit reluctant to purchase this one because there were a lot of negative reviews. But not only did it work well in that small patch, I now carry it to the main lawn down the hill and use it there. And it works beautifully even though that lawn is on uneven ground. So I can't account for the many negative reviews I've read, except that if you expect a push mower to work like a petrol mower, it won't. You do need to move it back and forth in rough areas or through longer grass, and if there is thatch or sticks or stones, they will jam. But it leaves a clean and not too severe cut (the way that petrol mowers can do on uneven ground). So I'm glad I gave it a go and suggest that others considering a push mower just need to understand it will differ from a petrol mower and it may not be suitable for everyone.

This push mower has sharp blades, light to manoeuvre around, great catcher n is quiet.
4 August 2022

I purchased this mower on the Wednesday n home delivery was made on the Thursday, I was shocked at how prompt Bunnings were n attentive to me being a lady as the driver carried this n my 2 boxes of grass seeds into my home n asked for a specific place to pop it down. Very good service above n beyond. The seeds n mower came completely intact wrapped attentive so no damages occurred. I shop here for specific jobs to maintain my home Bunnings has always been my go to in unique n excellent customer service I have not as yet unwrapped these items as the weather does not prevail. I will add photos once I get started in a few weeks.

So I have wanted one of these mowers for a long time, never got one as my husband always took care of the lawns, He has started working away and I thought what better way to get in shape and keep the lawns beautiful!Boy oh boy, this is the cheapest gym membership I’ve ever brought lolEveryone thought I was completely bonkers getting it, as our lawn is medium to large of size. But wow did it impress not only myself but my husband to! We had had a week of rain so the lawn was somewhat long, longer in some patches, the first go over was a bit rough in the longer patches but after a day of sun and wind drying it out I went over the dodgy looking patches and she came up awesome, and I got a full body workout! Super impressed and so glad I got it! Easy to put together and make adjustments, a quick hose down when I’m finished and she’s ready for next time.
