4th Victoria cast iron I have purchased

I love this brand and these cast iron skillets. I have bought two 12” skillets as gifts after being pleased with their 10” pan. I seasoned one before gifting it and was impressed and picked one up for myself. I just finished seasoning it 2 times and used it today. I have a 25 year old Lodge without helper handle and this Victoria is about 4oz lighter with a better handle and nice helper handle. I think it is a better design than the currently available Lodge 12” skillet.

Yes it is heavy! It's a cast iron!! Cooks steaks, frittatas, potatoes, eggs and everything else so nicely! The cast iron gives off a beautiful crisp to the food. Just know, if you are cooking steaks on this yes your home will be super smoked out and smell like a steakhouse for a day. If you have a grill, use that instead. Sometimes I cover the pan to minimize the smoke and splatter but I love this pan and I highly recommend.

Great quality nice weight and the circumference is actually 12 in. The two handles make it very easy to handle and I love the side spout for pouring it has great instructions for care. I read some of the negative reviews where persons complained that they had rust on their pan and other problems. This is because they did not follow the care instructions. Cast iron rust only when the user leaves it moist or damp. Take the time to read the enclosed instructions and you will be as delighted with this pan.

Great pan

Love this pan. Great family size. A little heavy but thats expected. Food comes right off of it. Looks nice for now I store in my oven because I use it so much. Will probably put 2 hooks one for this and the matching 10" I bought. The helper handle is extreemly useful as is the pour spouts on sides!

Great purchase!
18 October 2021

I'd been wanting a cast iron skillet for some time and was delighted when I found this one, especially for the price. The first time I cooked bacon in it, the strips stuck just a little bit but came lose easily. Eggs stuck as well but I put water in the skillet just a few minutes and was able to scrape out the stuck part very easily. It came well seasoned and I follow the directions on how to care for it. I'm very pleased with the skillet and have no reservations in recommending.

I LOVE THIS CAST IRON COOKWARE!!!
16 March 2022

I just got it 20 minutes ago and promptly seared some short ribs. It performed PERFECTLY right out of the box....just a quick wash. No sticking...no burning...no problems and the ribs were nicely browned. I had previously purchased a 10" with handle and used it to cook eggs...again perfect. That prompted me to go ahead and get the 13". I must have the whole set now! I absolutely love them. I have been using cast iron all my life and these are truly a step up. My old cast iron was MUCH heavier and as I age, these lighter ones are easier to manage. While the surface has a very slight texture....I actually love it more than the other smooth texture. Seems to brown better. And clean up was super easy. I just wiped it out and for little bits I used my scrubber.I ... MoreI just got it 20 minutes ago and promptly seared some short ribs. My Favorite Brand of Cast Iron Skillet
3 January 2023

I think that Victoria cast iron skillets are the best cast iron skillets to own. I have owned the 12 inch Victoria skillet for several years and now I purchased the 10 inch Victoria skillet. They are the only cast iron skillets that I want to use because they are substantially lighter in weight than others which makes them easier to lift and handle yet they are still very strong. The two that I own have high sides which are great and make them more versatile for cooking. They come with a lifetime guarantee.Take your brand new cast iron pan and wash it soap and water. Very lightly coat it inside and out with a high heat oil, I use organic virgin coconut oil, and bake upside down in oven at 450F for an hour. Let cool in oven until it's at room temperature. After using skillet clean with plastic scrubber and water. Immediately dry thoroughly. Very lightly oil inside bottom and sides of skillet. Place on stove and heat on medium-low heat for about 5 minutes until oil is smoking. Turn off burner and let skillet cool completely before storing. After non-stick coating builds up you will no longer have to oil skillet before heating on stove. You should still heat it immediately after washing and drying to ensure it's 100% dry.

Nice cast iron skillet
23 July 2022

I've had no problems with rust or cracking as reported in other reviews. It is a cast iron skillet and it is big, so be prepared for it being heavy on the wrists. It makes such a difference in frying steak. There will be some browning and sticking to the bottom, but I add a small amount of water and let it soak while it cools on the burner. It comes off, just like making gravy.

Spend the couple extra dollars
16 March 2022

This is by far the best cast iron skillet I’ve owned. The preseason is good and cleaning is a breeze. I just wipe it out use a little soap and then make sure it’s totally dry. I then heat it back up and toss a dab of oil in wipe it around and put it away after it cools. One thing to remember is that the handle does get hot. I got a silicone cover from another brand and it worked perfectly on this one.

great first cast iron
2 August 2022

I see allot of the other reviews saying it rusted after only one use. I highly recommend watching a video on how to clean and store the cast iron because it requires a few more steps than a regular pan. I seasoned mine before I cooked with it and after cooking I clean immediately and add a layer of oil back to pan. I’ve used it almost everyday since I got it a couple weeks ago and it still looks great. Great deal.
