This is quite a good looking unit, though I dont think it can be described as mahogany, since it looks nothing like the colour of my mahogany furniture, but this is not really an issue, as this only applies to the top, and is not visible from the front. The best part is the excellent sound quality, and I would have awarded 5 stars but for one thing, namely the volume control. I can set it at what is a slightly too low volume, but if I turn the dial by even the tiniest amount, to adjust it, the sound is too loud. There is nothing in between. I hasten to add that I do not think this would be an issue for a lot of people. At the raised level it is not blaring, but too loud for my sensitive hearing.

Pros: Its a good looking piece of kit.Cons: The design is incredibly poor quality with a very unbalanced revolving platter and tone arm. The revolving platter jumps around as if it is attached to a trampoline underneath and this throws the tone arm around when records are being played. Makes even the newest / first played vinyl look like it is massively warped but the result is that tracks skip and jump. Tested against my old player that this was meant to replace and there were no such issues on the old one. Aside from the turntable issues, there was also a problem with the volume control. Volume settings 1 through to 3 provided next to no volume at all with no noticeable difference shifting up through them but turning up to setting 5 resulted in a big jump from ... MorePros: Its a good looking piece of kit.Cons: The design is incredibly poor quality with a very unbalanced revolving platter and tone arm. First up, the good points: it looks great, sounds decent, 3-speed turntable. The bad: no auto-return for the arm, cassette deck is hard to get to if you have anything else on the shelf, cassette deck has no controls, no record option for CD or cassette.Summary: love the visual appeal but the lack of controls leaves this unit feeling half finished. Other brands include these features in similar nostalgic units, how were they missed here? Better question, how did I miss them before purchase?

I received this as a Christmas gift and was super happy, until that is I unwrapped a brand new vinyl album and attempted to play it. This skips, nothing I have done stops the skipping. I have pushed down the bar as instructed and it will work for half a song and boom, skip again. I have tried putting a coin on the stylus (old school trip) and nope nothing. I would return this if in my cleaning frenzy did not discard the packaging and can't return without it. Don't bother with this, get a simple turntable to play your albums. I would give this 0 Stars in every category if it was allowed. I absolutely do not recommend this.
I love the way it looks, it's an absolutely beautiful design. There is one problem with this that I have though. I bought this player just a few months ago, but there's already an issue with the playing speed. I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with it, as I'm putting it on the right RPM setting, yet it plays too slow still. I'm not entirely sure how to get this fixed, so I'm a little disappointed since I did pay so much for it. Otherwise, I appreciate the range of features it has but wish I knew how to fix this issue without paying any more money.
Pros: The kit does everything claimed. We wanted a combination with vinyl record turntable, radio, CD player and tape player all in one compact unit, including built-in speakers. It all works fine - the sound quality is better than expected, certainly good enough for us. The Blue Tooth feature is especially useful - works well from my mobile phone. (Buying this meant I could dispose of my old system and separate speakers and wiring.)Cons: FM tuning could be better. Fine tuning is difficult and there's no pre-set function.
I already knew this product and it is second time I buy it. I like it very much since I gifted it to a friend of mine and had the opportunity to listening to it. Of course, it is not a high-end audio device but it covers pretty much all kinds of family requirements for day-to-day entertainment purposes. The sound is clear and well balanced, even though it comes without an equalizer. And it is impressively powerful for its compact size, covering big rooms or even small houses. It does not come with a remote control, which is something I like too, transporting me to those old days in which you needed to leave your coach for a while to operate the controls of your home devices. Obviously, it has a strong potential as a decorative item as well, and I guess all buyers ... MoreI already knew this product and it is second time I buy it. In summary, a more-than-decent retro-styled audio player with multiple functions at a competitive price. You can find some extensive video reviews on the Internet, to get a more in-depth understanding of the product. In addition to the above, it arrived to the metropolitan area of Mexico City from Kentucky in just five days and in perfect conditions. Excellent shipment!
I just received a replacement, free of charge, because the first Victrola Empire I received a few weeks ago skipped in the same place on every record. I was pretty excited about the replacement until I put on a brand new record, The skipping is worse than the first player. Absolutely awful. I literally stared at the needle as it skipped and there was no visible reason. The only reason I bought this was to have a nice looking all in one with a turntable that wouldn’t take up the room of my 35 year old rack system. The only reason I gave three stars is for the beautiful appearance. Performance is a zero.
Absolute garbage player.I went through three of these, and all three skipped horribly on brand new vinyl. The arm cannot handle modern records with any amount of bass. Victrola sent me two players to replace the defective one and they all had the same problem. I suspect the arm is improperly weighted. I've tried with Victrola support for two months straight to make this work. Nothing helps. Now I've got this pretty looking device in my office that I can't play vinyl on.
I love the look and features of this record player. Unfortunately, our turntable is defective and cannot play records without skipping. We contacted Victrola about the problem, tried adjusting the balance screw and changed out the stylus several times. The angle/height of the arm seems to be the issue- the plastic part of the stylus drags along the record, keeping the needle from making good contact and causing it to skip. I'm hoping no records were damaged but the skipping was bad. We've called customer service and emailed them for a month now, asking to exchange the unit for a functioning one. Initially we got some responsiveness but it's been crickets for a few weeks. Obviously the turntable was the main reason for the purchase, so I'm unhappy that it doesn't ... MoreI love the look and features of this record player. We will likely not be buying another Victrola based on our challenges with getting the issue resolved.
