This replaced a Cuisinart immersion blender that inexplicably died after several years of service. After dithering over what brand to replace this useful tool with, I finally went with the most expensive choice -- the Vitamix, Rolls Royce of immersion blenders -- because it was on sale. We gave the new purchase a test drive last night in a pot of creamy celeriac soup. Worked beautifully! I was initially taken aback by the size and weight (heavy) of the new piece, but found it easy enough to hold (though someone with arthritis might not). It fits easily in the drawer where the old blender lived, even though it's bigger. I like the fact it *doesn't* have attachments, which for me are just clutter.

Best blender for one person.

It’s also not super loud (except for when it’s cranking through a massive block of ice), and I LOVE having multiple speed settings. My only regret is now I’m the weird blender lady trying to evangelize this thing to everyone I know.

I suspect, as well, the Immersion Blender will soon be posted for buyers to receive purchase points at the www.Vitamix.com/rewards program. In my book, a cordless version of this stick blender would be much appreciated; but, only if a lithium battery can make the unit lighter to maintain one-handed ease. Otherwise, cord length is not stingy, affording a good range of mobility.Great tool for the foodie!

Easy to Use, Easy to Put Away

I bought the Vitamix immersion blender in an effort to downsize all of my belongings. I will be moving, perhaps multiple times in the next few years and I want to go lean on possessions but I'm not willing to give up my smoothies! I found that the immersion Vitamix does just as good a job of making smoothies as the bigger Vitamix blender. I have also made pesto and crackers with it. It takes a little manual finesse, and a tall thin container (I use a 4-quart Mason jar mug, which I already possessed). It's much easier to get the mixture out of the container, or as in the case of smoothies you can drink it right out of the container. Very simple to clean and put away. I doubt if walnut butter is recommended because I don't see any recipes for it with the immersion blender, but I did take my chances to make a walnut butter by blending walnuts with some really soft creamy organic peanut butter. It came out chunky but it certainly tastes like walnut butter. It's not going to get the same kind of smoothness as the regular Vitamix blender, but I am just happy that I can actually have nut butters wherever I move to. The pest is a little bit chunkier too, but I don't have any problem with that. The smoothies come out very smooth. The product is so lightweight that I can always take it with me and doesn't take any counter space in the kitchen.

I have used many different Vitamix products over the years in my mother's kitchen, at work, and now in my own home! I purchased this immersion blender to replace a different brand that was just not up to par anymore. When I was first buying products for my kitchen I couldn't afford the Vitamix price tag--but after using them at work I realized they produce the golden standard of blenders, and knew I wanted to eventually replace my cheaper cooking tools with VitaMix products. This immersion blender is definitely more of an investment than the cheaper options out there, but it is well worth the price. I have used this stick blender to make homemade mayonnaise numerous times, as well as to emulsify dressings, and to homogenize the consistency of certain soups. It is marvelous and I am very pleased with the power, and quality of this immersion blender.

Ok, I’ve never had a vitamix before but always heard great things. I don’t use the blender often so spending a ton on the original wasn’t in the cards. Also, my kitchen is TINY and I have zero counter space.I’m really glad I went with this. It does exactly what I need it to do. I’ve already made salsas and soups straight in the pot. It works to make refries beans from whole beans as well. I’ve even made smoothies with frozen fruit and it handled it with complete ease. This thing is powerful. The cons are that sometimes herbs that aren’t finely chopped get stuck on the bottom of the blade and it can be hard to clean (think whole cilantro wrapped tightly around it) and it can be a little heavy. So if you’ve got a mobility/disability it may be hard to use for extended ... MoreOk, I’ve never had a vitamix before but always heard great things. The silicone guard is one of the best features. It keeps your pans safe while using.A great alternative for people low on space who don’t want to shell out too much on a full size.

Powerful, well built, & pricy lacking accessories

I've used this a number of times since picking it up and it has done everything I've asked it to do without issue. My main uses are for single serve smoothies and soups or curries on the stove top. I wasn't a fan of pouring hot soup into my full size Vitamix and having extra large items to clean (whether easy or not) as well as the weariness of things like curries eventually leaving stains or smells.Having had a Vitamix for 7 years I'm confident in their quality and purchased this to resolve the above and it has not disappointed on performance at all. The thing I was most surprised about is the amount of suction force it has. The instructions say to keep the bottom of the bell (base) about an inch from the bottom when using which is easier said than done! The thing I was most surprised about is the amount of suction force it has. The instructions say to keep the bottom of the bell (base) about an inch from the bottom when using which is easier said than done! I know it won't damage my cookware or cups/glasses but I think it's more so larger items can get pulled under and into the blades.Anything higher than the second power level and it's a workout to keep it from pulling its way to the bottom and wanting to stay there! As stated earlier, I purchased this item because I trust Vitamix to be a well built and durable brand and this is no exception. It feels sturdy, isn't too heavy (for me, at least), and is super easy to clean just like my full size one. It's definitely in the top tier on pricing but I think you get what you pay for and this will continue working and providing more power and range than most below it's price for years and years after they have stopped working. It's also SO much quieter than the full size Vitamix machines. I can just about carry on a conversation at regular volume even at the highest setting. My biggest complaint is the lack of accessories. Maybe it's because it's still a newer product from the company but many of the competitors have various accessories and storage options to complement the main product while all you have with this one is the base with the motor and the detachable wand with the blade.I'd have liked a blade protector (other than the flimsy piece of clear plastic it came packed with) that could snap on to the bottom of the bell for storage or even a storage bag/case. I also hope they come out with some additional accessories like a mini chopper or blender whisk attachment in the future to expand the versatility.Overall it's a great immersion blender that will handle anything you throw at it and looks great as well, but is well above the price of just about every competitor while having the bare minimum included and no accessories available for it. Time will tell if the latter is remedied but I definitely do not regret this purchase regardless.

Sturdy and powerful
29 January 2023

I've used this several times now. It's easy to attach/detach from the blender wand and stays in place. Purees soup to a smooth creamy texture in very little time. The wand itself is shorter than my last immersion blender and I was worried I wouldn't be able to use in a large batch of soup, I simply blend it sooner before my pot is too full of liquid. Increasing the speed, I find slow since the increments go up by one rather than a dial that you can move and leave there. Upon restarting, it defaults back to the lowest speed and you must reset your speed. So, not as quick and convenient as the one I replaced this one with but overall, it's a good product and easy to clean.

I placed frozen, dry products on the bottom and liquid on top, etc, I mixed frozen banana, 1TBSP cocoa,2 TBSP peanut butter and 1cup nonfat milk. It blended fast, there was no spillage all over and the smoothie was very smooth. It tasted great. Then, I cleaned up. The blade is very, very sharp. Do not allow children to use this device or anyone that cannot keep a firm grip on the container while the device is in use. A suction is formed at the bottom of the container when the device is on, so keep a firm grip o the container when moving the wand around in the container.

I am so glad I purchased this along with the chopper container. I bought this for making soups and pesto sauces. It has made preparing these foods so easy.I am an older senior citizen, so I was nervous at first. I watched videos on YouTube which helped a lot. After using it once for chopping and blending I feel like a pro. It is easy to clean. The man on the video just rinsed it off, but where food is concerned I’m a soap and water person. Just be careful as blades are sharp. I use small brushes.I see it is on sale now, just in time for the holidays!I do feel there should be more instructions on its use
