Amazing tyres

Perform brilliant all year round in the UK mud, these are my 3rd set now and wouldn't use any other tyre on my xc bike. Never had a puncture or slashed a sidewall. A bit sketchy on wet cobbles but aren't all tyres? Great prices from bikeinn and rapid delivery

I mounted the Barzo front (2.25) and rear (2.1) on my single speed bike. The tires are a very tight fit and difficult to mount. These are tubeless ready and I inflated them without any sealant. They held air for days, no problem. Then I put some sealant and went riding. I only have one ride, but so far I am impressed. They feel solid, predictable, great grip. And Bikeinn service and delivery was fantastic.

I got 3 flats with MaXXis in a week, on different tires. I couldn't believe it! I tried Vittoria tires and absolutely love them. I have replaced all my Maxxis (15) with Vittoria. Love the Mazza to replace DHR and DHF, the BARZO for trail, and Mezza for XC and Trail. My stable is covered by Vittoria. Oh, in two years, no flats. What's that worth in fun and money and reputation, and, and, and....

Definitely an XC tire
6 May 2020

I used this tire on my back wheel to try and reduce rolling resistance. It worked great for that, but ultimately I was using it for terrain above its pay grade, so I blew it up pretty catastrophically after only about three rides. I was running tubeless with 28 psi and hit a square edged rock in a small chute descent. Cue sealant everywhere and a being able to see my rim bed through the hole in the tread.I would definitely choose this tire again if I were building up an xc or light trail bike for smoother or less rocky trails, but for the rocky trails I like to ride I'm sticking with a DHR.

Excellent tire!

I bought this tire because I wasn’t completely happy with the grip of my current front tire (Michelin Wild Enduro Front), particularly when leaning it into a corner. The Martello is much improved in that aspect, as well as being more damped, which helps in longer, rocky descents. The tire was delivered promptly by Moosejaw. Couldn’t have a better experience!

Fast, light, affordable, with some limitations.

Contrary to previous reviews, I can confirm that the sidewalls on this tire IS paper thin. You can tell it just from the thickness that it’s meant for tubes. In my area where there’s sharp rocks, I would not run them just tubeless by itself. I installed a tire insert with it that allows me to run it flat in an emergency. As with previous reviews, yes you CAN mount these tubeless but the thin walls keep folding in and does not hold its shape well while uninflated, thus hard to seat the bead. Also the bead is almost non existent which makes it more difficult. Using one of those compressed air floor pumps, I had to first dab the bead with sealant then mount it with a tube to seat it. Then break one side to pull out the tube. With a tubeless valve installed, I blasted ... MoreContrary to previous reviews, I can confirm that the sidewalls on this tire IS paper thin. Also at below $20, I’d buy again. You just have to expect its limitations

Jeff Lenosky is right on this one!

I was looking for a wider, grippy tire for slick rock and pre-Spring conditions, and this tire gets the job done. I really like the aggressive tire tread pattern. I run tubeless and I usually run low on tire pressures and later regret that when the conditions are dry and flat and I feel like I'm dragging rubber. With these tires, I can run 25~30 psi and still get the superior grip on the sketchy sections. Running this on two bikes and both have feel more real on the surface and no signs of dragging on the flow sections. I watched some Lenosky videos where the guy looks glued to the terrain, and I figured it was just solely his talent. Turns out, he has a bit of extra assistance in his tire selection!Buy them and realize the difference that these tires make in a big ... MoreI was looking for a wider, grippy tire for slick rock and pre-Spring conditions, and this tire gets the job done. Light weight. Good looks. Grip in all conditions. What more could you ask for?
14 March 2023

The tires are easy to mount and seal up well when tubeless. The gray sidewalls give a whole new look that is very appealing. The tires seem to work well in just about all conditions. As for working with Bike inn....their communication and tracking is awesome. The only drawback is that shipment to the US takes nearly 4 weeks because of customs holds. Be prepared to wait a while for any order. Prices are fantastic though. I will certainly use Bike inn again.

The BEST in dry conditions
24 October 2021

Bought the Barzo rigid to replace a worn WTB Trail boss.In comparison the Barzo is lighter, rolls faster and is excellent in the dry.Can loose a bit of traction in the wet (especially on concrete)The 2.25 width measurement Vittoria use is ever so slightly on the thin side (The 2.25 Trailboss is somehow wider than Vittoria at the same specified width)

Making a good large volume tire that doesnt bounce like a pogo stick at lower pressure is what Vitoria are good at. Then add all the other bits to do with grip and rolling resistance and its the full package. I just wish that they could do the same but at 10-20% less weight. Although these are not heavy by comparison to other brands. The edge they have in front of the competition could just be that bit more if they could do the weight shaving.

The Vittoria Barzo is a classic hardpack race tire. Small, low-profile lugs grip firm, dry trails well and the continuous contact center lug pattern make this one of the fastest true mountain tires out there. Lean-dependent sipe angles mean the hard cornering grip doesn't kick in until the tire is leaned over. This keeps rolling resistance to a minimum. Counter V-formation channels ease the cleaning of mud, dirt, and debris, so the tire sheds quickly if you find yourself in the sticky stuff. Almost as important is the casing underneath. Vittoria TNT casing is made from a cloth that has 120 threads per inch -- quite supple by mountain bike standards. The sidewalls are also reinforced with nylon in order to minimize both cuts and folding when riding at low-pressure. Holding the tire onto the rim is a traditional folding Aramid bead. The tires can be run front or rear, and if you need a little more dig in the rear, reverse the tread direction for more of a "scoop" effect.
