Love this Fan. We bought one for our Son two years ago to repace a Dyson fan that failed. Such a better fan that Dyson. The air circulation you get from the Vornado means there is air flow throught the room without having to have fan that turns. And such power! If turned to full power its like a tornado! And on low to mid speeds, good airflow and is quite for night time use. We have now bought one for our room!

I own several Vornado fans. They really do blow more air with less noise and it's a narrow cone of air that goes further than the all-over wide blast of other fans and circulators. And every one of them has to be taken apart with deep, hidden screws that are next to impossible to get back in place. So I don't!Instead I've adapted every fan with fairly strong coated wires that attach where the screws are meant to screw-in and the wires extend backwards thru the matching screw holes in the opposite piece and then fold back out of the way. Living on the floor, these fans must be cleaned at least once every month. And every time I get cranked at the stupidity of a company that has such a better product and design that average, but turns a blind eye to the ... Or they just don't care. They cost way more - too much not to be easily cleaned.Lubrication is a problem with all fans. The motors are permanently lubed and the rotors in the electrical housing don't quite touch. But the turn-shafts are not on bearings and that creates friction. That means heat and that means dried-up oil. After maybe a year, cheap fans usually get squeeky every month. Vornados will last several years of constant use and then they too will need lube about once a year. In both cases I break down the fans at major cleaning time and spray white lithium grease as well as possible on both sides of the shaft, on both ends and run it slowly to 'bleed' into the tight space. Then wipe off the excess and reassemble. It's a hassle but I still have some old beige Vornados running that are yellowed from age - probably more than 20 years! It could be much easier if they simply provided a port! But planned obsolescence means more sales. So in the long run, with good maintenance, the high price will pay for itself eventually.

I really like it. Unlike a standard fan, you can place eh "air flow against a wall7ceiling, and not directly aimed at you, and you get and feel air movements around you. It feels a lot more comfortable. A difference between a normal fan and this is like shined by a spot light or having direct lighting in your room/desk.But you need to try out a bit, which wall, ceiling, which angles to blow the air create a movement of air that surrounds you, and not being blown air into your face (and from it my eyes get quickly dry). It is also useful for venting air in and out of a room with open windows. You can just blast it through and done in minutes.I like more than the Dyson models. One of the most exciting features of this fan is the remote control. I love being able to adjust the settings without having to leave my bed or get up from wherever I'm sitting. Beyond the convenience of the remote, it also allows the fan's speed to be ticked up or down by a single degree. One of my biggest issues with other fans is the constraints of high, medium and low. I'm almost always wanting a speed somewhere in between.Another great feature of this fan is how quiet it is. The fan it replaced was much louder and would often wake me up while sleeping. This one, however, has a low, pleasing hum that lulls me to sleep - and has yet to wake me up. Even though the fan is quiet, I still feel like its reach is extremely far. I've yet to find a place in my fairly large room that it doesn't reach to.Overall, I think my favorite feature of this fan is its sleek design. It looks modern and sleek. Surprisingly, I've found myself keeping it out on the table, rather than putting it away every morning - something I usually did with my previous, much less appealing, fan.The beautiful design, power, low noise, customization features and remote control make this fan a great buy. I'd definitely recommend this model to anyone looking for these features in a fan.
The Energy Smart Medium Air Circulator works well at circulating air around our dining room area, however it is doesn't seem as efficient as the oscillating unit we had previously been using. This maybe because our lower floor is largely open plan and we had difficulty finding a wall to direct the unit towards, as shown in the instructions, to achieve the best air circulation. In saying that, in rooms that can be closed off easily it may have worked more efficiently. It would also have been nice to have little more guidance (in the instruction manual) on how to select where to position the unit to achieve maximum air circulation efficiency. At the lower speeds (up to about 40) the noise level of the unit is acceptable, but at higher speeds it is a little noisy. The ... At the lower speeds (up to about 40) the noise level of the unit is acceptable, but at higher speeds it is a little noisy. The compact design of the unit is nice and it sits very stably on the floor, a consideration with our young cat who is interested in everything. This would also be the case with young children. The unit is sleek and modern in appearance, and the design would discourage the prying fingers (or paws) of children (or pets). Before participating in the program I was not aware of the product (Energy Smart Medium Air Circulator) or the company, Vornado. Based on the product I used, I'd be open to using other products by Vornado, but do not think for my current residence's room layout the Energy Smart Medium Air Circulator is the best unit for my cooling needs. I would recommend the Energy Smart Medium Air Circulator to friends and family that had rooms that could be closed off allowing for good air circulation.
I have the large of this fan and it works so well i decided to try the medium in a smaller room and it, like the large, is absolutely perfect. They move air in every direction and it reaches every corner. No matter where you stand in the room you can feel the air moving.I've gotten some great things at BB&B that made my life so much easier! Vornado fans and my incredible Miele vacuum. They pick the perfect styles for my needs.Very very happy with my purchases.
I live in the top floor of a brownstone building in NYC (which ten degrees hotter in the summer)- So once you get past the floor below me, the next flight starts to feel like an oven- not only because of the heat from the room, but also from the skylight in the hallway. My apartment is unbearable in the summer. Because I have an encasement AC, close to the floor, the long, narrow living room rarely gets cool enough- even when I crank it. This fan, placed in front of the AC manages to drive cool air completely along the 20 feet length of the living room. I can leave the AC on "low" and crank the circulator to "99" and it gets the job done! (Plus, I assume will allow my electric bill to lower, but the verdict is still out on that one). I had also bought the 5330 black mid sized air circulator (for $69) so that I could A/B them. Honestly, they both have about the same air push- but I liked the fact that I could control the air flow better on this one (from 1-99), as well as having the remote. If the remote is not a big deal to you or you're okay with a three option air flow, then you could save yourself around $60 and buy the black 5330. There's also a 5330 white fan with remote, but the store near me did not carry it, so I can't comment on that one. But for $30 less and the remote, I'm sure that would do the trick as well (it's also a bit smaller, so I could be wrong about that). Either way, my 6330 remote fan has a TEN YEAR WARRANTY, which is pretty unheard of. All in all, I think it's a good investment. Very happy with it. (I also happen to be sitting in my apartment right now writing this with the AC OFF and only the fan running- it's fine!)
Thought i'd review this even though I bought my fan more than 5 years ago. This little thing is SO powerful. Today I thought I'd buy a Honeywell fan that was $25, same size. I'm returning it immediately. The LOWEST setting of the Vornado is about the same as the highest setting on the Honeywell. I take my little Vornado fan anywhere I go to use when i'm sleeping. It's not super quiet but that's what I like. The sound is even, no weird clicking. it's an amazing fan and I suggest using one of those 20% off Mailer coupons on this guy for yourself!
This is the second fan I buy, we absolutely love it! After our bigger Vornado fan died, I purchased this one for my husband. He has tinnitus and needs a fan to fall asleep. This little fan worked great, small enough to fit on top of his night stand but also quite powerful for its size. I know some people complained about being loud but we actually love that is loud, is a very soothing white noise sound. After having a few too hot days I ordered a bigger one, more expensive from Amazon that I ended up returning because it was less powerful than this one. I just came back and ordered a second one here and very happy with my purchase.
This is my second Vornado Mid-size fan. I have one I use in my bedroom. It is several years old and I decided to get another one to have on hand, standby should this one stopped working. I have central cooling but I like a fan in the bedroom at night on my side of the room (my husband doesn't understand hormones). Our neighbor's dog who stays with us from time to time agrees with me as he sleeps on my side of the room. We also have a larger Vornado fan in our basement that runs on a timer. The two fans have run for years, no problems but I have a new replacement in standby.Vornado fans are easy to clean, dependable, run quietly. They sit level and secure on a table surface so you don't have a problem with vibrations with running. Excellent product.
