My boys got these as gifts and not only do they love them, but I’ve been thoroughly impressed with them too. No, you aren’t taking these on your once-in-a-lifetime sheep hunt, but I think they out punch their weight class- probably partially thanks to the small magnification. I’ve seen some people say you should buy your kids some Crossfire’s or Diamondback’s and then they will have something for when they’re older, but these are so light and handy that I think they’ll always have a place, even if they turn into truck binos

I love Vortex optics. I have several binoculars from the Crossfire to the Viper in various sizes. I saw this Bantam HD and had to add it to my collection. I basically wanted it to keep in my truck. These are absolutely awesome for the price. I've already thought about getting another pair for my hunting pack. I'd almost compare them to my Diamondback 8x32 as far as size, weight and clarity. Go ahead and get a pair for you, your kids or somebody, you won't regret it.

Bought these for a kid to use for his first deer season. They are brighter than my older Leupold binoculars and we can get an additional ten minutes of hunting if we share these at the end of the day. I'll be replacing the Leupold's at the end of the season and Vortex is looking pretty good for the money.

Bought pairs for young grandsons for Yellowstone trip with their dad to view wildlife. They love them. Perfect size, handling, excellent clarity, value and warranty. Have features like Vortex 10X by 42 binocs that I use for hunting/wildlife viewing. Cabelas outfitter helpful as usual.
This is the binocular for us 80 year olds, at last a steady veiw, out at a RSPB reserve yesterday with my usual mid priced 8x42's I ended up bagging those and using the 6.5's. I was really pleased, very impressed. Still not sure how they were manufactured for the price! The idea of buying them was to have a lightwieght set when lugging a scope, which I only use on specific reserves and at the coast, they will satisfy that idea very well.
I wasn't expecting much from a binocular at this price point, but the bantam is surprisingly good. It's not a toy. Build quality was good, although the ocular guards were a bit loose. Focuser works smoothly. Eye relief is good and works with glasses. It is a bit finicky about eye placement to avoid beaning. The view is bright and sharp at the center. Falling off begins on the outer part of the view, but isn't too dramatic. The field of view is decent. For a child/youth it will do the job and they will love it. For Christmas or birthday they will be delighted. Adults can use it as well, if they are looking for something light with low magnification. At this price you will be hard pressed to find something better. In addition, the warranty is great if anything goes wrong.
My wife and I were looking for a low powered binocular and tried these out. They were a little too small for our faces. It fit my narrow head, but she has glasses and a wider view so it wasn't working for her. I kept finding myself having to raise them. When I rested them in my eyes they would make a little black spot on the bottom, so I'd have to pick them up a bit.The clarity is better then what we previously had and so we decided to try out a little larger size. Returning these and ordering the Triumph 10x42. I'm impressed with the optics from vortex. This is my first name brand binoculars, was using the cheaper ones from amazon. I will say you can really tell the difference! So much clearer!!
The price is right. A little smaller and lighter than regular binoculars. 400 ft field of view. Probably great for bow hunting and other short range observations. Convenient to tote around but if you want to count points on antlers get 10s or 12s. It serves the purpose for which I bought it. I already have the 7 and 10 powers. I don’t have anything negative to say about the bantam.
Phenomenal youth binos at an affordable cost with VIP lifetime warranty.HD clarity and the quality of the unit is solid. It’s great to see large companies like Vortex starting to create models for youths so youths are able to see through both lenses vs the old spotter scope method due to the youths narrow face. The unit is light and robust enough for a two year old to use, but adequate enough for a twelve year old to still use due to the wide range of articulation that can be applied to the binoculars.I purchased two units for my 2 and 4 year old children for camping, hiking, fishing, future hunting father daughter trips and enjoying nature through a closer look. Both kids have way more fun behind glass than behind an iPad.Catch you guys outside,Hope the ... MorePhenomenal youth binos at an affordable cost with VIP lifetime warranty.HD clarity and the quality of the unit is solid. Both kids have way more fun behind glass than behind an iPad.Catch you guys outside,Hope the review helped!
After trying various models I as somewhat of a newcomer to hunting could find very little difference between these 'youth' binos vs almost $50+ more for 'adult' ones. They fit my adult face very well and can still go wider. The picture is sharp and zoom is plenty for small game or nature/bird watching. Happy that vortex is offering an 'entry' level for youth but really these are (almost?) identical to adult ones... It reminds me when I was buying winter boots for my wife(who has a small foot), we ended up buying a large youth version of the boot vs small adult as it was half the price but material build quality/thickness and warmth rating were the same.
