VS Sassoon Curl Secret Ceramic Auto Curler VSC1041A

I am a sucker for a new hair appliance so it didn't take me long to try this one. I bought it during it's launch show and have used it a few times now. I did find that getting the hang of bringing the hair through the cylinder into the barrel took a little longer than ordinary barelled curlers but once you get it , it's a breeze to use. I have shoulder length LAYERED hair and found the benefit of this wand over the Beachwaver wands was that hair wrapping the barrel from the top down meant all of the hair was pulled into the cylinder and curled right to the bottom. The thing I did find that might be confusing to some is that the actual size of the curl is the same irrespective of which setting you use. The curl type you use controls how long you leave it in place before it beaps and how the curl is set. Eg when I used the wavy setting, it beaped within a few seconds, the defined curl setting was much longer. The result was the "wavy" curl dropped/softened more when I brushed it through than it did when I used the defined curl. But don't expect big, bouncy curls like you get when using the large barelled Beachwaver. The barrel on the curl secret is a similar size to the medium barrel of the Beachwaver. I now have the VS curl secret and the Beachwavers and find that all of them do a great job. I think which one you prefer will come down to individual preference and which one you find easier to use.

I am so pleased that I purchased this Sassoon curler. It was so quick to do my whole head and the curl lasted longer than anything I have ever used. When I first used it I thought I would try the medium curl but I think I will go with the loose curl next time. I honestly found this much easier to use than the Beachwave curler that TVSN also sell and much better than my GHD’s. I will use my straighteners on the very very ends for that relaxed beach look. Great price too, I am very happy.

I have wanted to curl my straight, thick, shoulder length hair for years but have never found the right tool until I watch the hour on Curl Secret. It just arrived today and I’ve had a bit of a play with it and I could not believe how beautiful and bouncy the curls were. Even with combing them out, my hair looked so pretty! Now I can style my hair with ease and without my arm getting tired. My advice to people who are debating about getting it is to go ahead and get it home! You don’t be disappointed.
