I've bought VS razors for years (typical lifespan 2-3years) and always been happy with them. Until now! The clippers pull and catch on my facial hair (4mm stubble), leaving me to dread each new stroke. I've tried oiling and charging it but nothing works to make me think it's just a faulty design that is so painful, I won't be using it again. OK, it's not like it slices my face but repetitive catching does hurt and does not make for a pleasant shave. I've had the product for 3-4 months and never seen any improvement. Time to buy another brand and bin this asap.

Selecting the ideal grooming device for a man can be a prickly exercise. Some promise a world of features yet fall short on practical performance - while others cost the earth. I have had my fair share of both; a Remington that was simply junk - a top of the range, $199 Wahl that was great but only lasted less than 2 years before it wouldn't accept a charge - I bought a $200 Philips series 9000 Laser Guided machine about 6 months ago but it was absolutely useless, with the cutters jamming up with the cut hair and the laser light impossible to see when trying to use it.....! In the end, based on what you get for the price, the VS seemed to be a good deal. First thing I noticed it was much smaller and very light weight but the head size seems standard in comparison. This is not a good shaver at all, in fact it's pretty useless! The blades are blunt and it doesn't have enough power to cut beard. It's really annoying and painful as it constantly nicks and pulls your skin, which obviously then cuts your face! An absolutely shockingly bad product to be honest! I don't normally write reviews but this is a terrible, terrible piece of kit! Do not waste your money on this! It also reflects badly on Myer. I didn't expect that they'd sell something as bad as this but they do. A total an utter waste of money!!
The trimmer is good. It's a good size and works well. I especially like the oil-free blade setup, with the little embedded oil pad. Rotary trimmer works well. Beard/stubble trimmer is so simple and effective. The foil shaver is great. Given how good this is, it's disappointing to note that there are two bad design elements. (1) The caddy is flimsy and quite useless - most of the attachments just balance in there, so if you bump it, everything flies everywhere. (2) There are two differe t guide combs for hair cutting - one does settings in odd-numbered mm lengths and the other one in even numbered mm lengths, so if you cut at a particular length and then want to adjust by just 1mm, you have to change comb guides! The selling points for me were: 1. It’s waterproof. 2. The 2 year warranty 3. The price point.I’ve read the box & instructions. It’s set up and I charged as required. I’ve only had the groomer/clipper for a few weeks but it’s working well. I’ve used the nose hair trimmer and the standard clipper attachment. The remaining attachments don’t sit secure in the cheap stand and in my opinion look messy so I don’t have them displayed.After previously having owned/used (& loved!) multiple top of the line competitors products in the past.. This is a great inexpensive option.
Purchased recently and this might seem intuitive considering the name of the item, but it really is an all rounder i.e. it does a bit of everything, none of them particularly well. It's really not that bad, but it's also really not that good. I chose it for brand reputation and price. Couldn't say I'm unhappy with my purchase.
I bought this to replace my corded trimmer for stubble and body hair. The trimmer guide which controls the length is badly designed and slips easily from any setting to the shortest setting possible. So you start with 7mm, and quickly end up with 3mm. It's a terrible product, completely unfit for use.
Product as shown in pictures. Has all the components but is not that friendly.The stand does hold all the components, but that is about as far as it goes. The components are not stable on the holder and come adrift too easily. It smacks of cheap Chinese product. Not the quality I was expecting from a product that has the VS label.Functionally it does ok for a small device and holds it's charge ok so far.I would go for a more expensive machine next time.Anyone wanting inexpensive will be satisfied but don't expect anything because of the VS sassoon name.
Bought this grooming system as a bona fide LADY to prep my body for laser hair removal. The tool itself, faultless. Does what it says it will do, good battery life, easy charging in its little stand.Am removing a star because the heads/covers don't 'snap'/click into the stand, so they flop around and fall out quite easily if the stand is knocked or jolted.Additionally, some just seem overkill... but again, PERHAPS I HAVE MISSED THEIR PURPOSE AS A LAAAAADY.Honestly, this device is just as useful for me as to my partner, who uses it "appropriately" with the FOR MEN label emblazoned on every piece.
