This camera is the biggest disappointment. I wanted to love it but it has constant connection issues which makes it useless. The video quality is amazing and all the features are great. We loved that it had both an app and a parent unit so we could use it at home and on the go. After about a month the camera stopped connecting to both the parent unit and the app no matter if it was connected direct or through a router. The only way to reconnect the camera was to turn it on and off. Aftee doing this every hour it was on we decided we were no longer comfortable using it and had to get something else. If VTech could fix the issues this camera would be incredible.

As other reviews have mentioned the monitor only worked for three weeks now it will not connect locally or over wifi after only three weeks. I just hope I have the box so I can return this piece of junk. NOT SAFE. Unit will disconnect and not alert you so you think your baby is quite and sleeping but turns out the device disconnected (if you can get it to connect in the first place). We've have tried EVERYTHING to get this stupid thing to work. I got it hoping the few bad reviews are a one off but it costs too much money to risk it. If you do get it RETURN IT OR KEEP THE BOX AT THE VERY LEAST.

Everything’s been working pretty well my biggest grape though is number one the internal on the LCD broke, and I don’t know if that’s because of that but it often loses connection. And a lot of times we’ve had issues with the app. Signing into the app was annoying. They had several issues change the app several times. App is a little better but the connectivity on the monitor itself is flimsy. Have had issue with the camera as well, had to go in the room while the kid was sleeping to reset the camera. Angles arent that great rither, limit range of view.

I held in the reset button on monitor and remove power. I kept holding it for 30 sec after power was restore. I notice the RED LED went from bright red to a dim red, once I let go the unit never boots up after couple minutes. I then power cycle the monitor 1 more time and when it booted back up, it finally connected to camera. Hoping that it was a 1-time issue. We shall see. Overall, I would still recommend this monitor system due to all it features but if the disconnect is not a constant issue that require reset.
This is such a great monitor set for a baby’s room! The camera comes with a wall mount that’s easy to install. The monitor is large with high definition and great image quality that allows you to see the entire room. You can Adjust pretty much anything you can think of on the display. You just toggle through and have options to control the volume, music, night vision, and you can even change the night light colors attached to the camera. When baby wakes up and starts moving and fussing the light in the monitor will light up. This monitor system has eased our minds so much while sleeping. We know we will hear as soon as our little man wakes up. I couldn’t imagine not having this system with a little one!

The display during daylight is great and very high quality. It has up to x12 times zoom, but honestly anything past x3 zoom it gets too pixelated to make out what my children are doing in their crib. I’m really bummed about this monitor. As a lot of other reviews say, the connection cuts out a lot, and that’s over WiFi, which we do have faster-speed WiFi. The direct connection won’t even work through just one wall. It only works if the monitor is in the same room as the camera. And if that’s how it is then what’s the point of having a monitor. Everything else is great. The picture quality is nice, the sound is good, night vision is good, screen size good, I like the nightlight option. So the fact that the connectivity is so poor…….. very disappointing. Will be returning, unfortunately.
Pros: big screen, easy setup,can wall mount camera and options. Cons: when I connected to wifi the camera kept loosing picture constantly even when not moved and I’m within 50 feet of the camera, zoom and video are really laggy, price isn’t worth the product, doesn’t always record movement on app, battery life isn’t that good, picture quality looks low quality and pixelated when zoomed in, monitor doesn’t show the time. Bought this because I needed a new camera asap so thought it was a decent camera but didn’t notice all the reviews were from promotions and not realistic reviews. The low star reviews are reliable. Will be returning this as soon as I find a new monitor. Save your money. Only gave 2 stars because easy setup and the big screen on the monitor.
The quality is much greater than I expected! Absolutely love the large 7-inch screen and crystal clear picture! It has great sound and a very good quality picture. The wide-angle lens on the color camera really expands the viewing range so I could not only see my child in her crib but what she was doing while she was playing in her room. I really like the fact that it shows you the room temperature on the screen. The features the parental unit has are mind-blowing. From music to white noise, to alarms for motion & sound detection, to temperature readings, LCD screen settings & not to mention- the optional WiFi setup that you can use via the app on your phone. Vtech baby app charges no subscription fee. Highly recommend it to everyone who is looking for a monitor.
We've been through 4 monitors. This Vtech monitor is the worst by far. We actually exchanged the first one due to same problem the brand new one is having. It keeps unlinking to the camera. Nothing wrong with our wifi and its not close to any thing to "interfere" with it. It works fine for a few weeks and then all of a sudden it cant ink to the camera. It's crap and is being returned once again and we will not be exchanging it for a new one either. Will.be getting the Samsung one again. Don't waste your money.
