Good on walls and with thin-ish paint, less so on ceilings but then I was trying to use a very thick paint and it resulted in a very narrow spray pattern and poor coverage. On the walls with normal emulsion it was very good with little overspray. The ceiling as well as the issues with the thicker paint you really need full body PPE - you end up looking like a ghost you get so covered with paint. Is it quicker than brush/roller. I'm just not sure by the time you have to mask everything and cover absolutely everything. Will use it again but probably just for walls.

This machine has some serious kick. It's able to push out more than enough emulsion to cover your walls in a single coat and it's a beautiful fan.Initially it's a little fiddly to set up but I have used it about 5 times since purchase and I don't have a problem with it at all now. The gun is light in your hand. The hopper is easy to fill with a lid to stop fragments contaminating the paint.Clean up on the first time is a pain but after a couple of runs you won't even think about it. Just takes a fair bit of water and somewhere you can dispose of the slops. My only query with the gun is the hose. It is rigid and sometimes attempts to control where you spray with resistance. Rubber would have been a much more appropriate. It's very durably though.Would highly ... MoreThis machine has some serious kick. Great tool

Works really well and leaves a lovely finish. A few things to bear in mind:Make sure you water down the paint sufficiently. I've been using a 4 to 1 ratio of paint to water which seems to work nicely. The one thing about this machine that isn't great is the instructions, which read like a Google translate from German. Mostly fine, but there is one part which makes it sound like uneven spray pattern is caused by adding too much water, which in reality it's caused by adding too little. The hose is quite stiff and requires a bit of management. This isn't a bad point it's just the reality of high pressure hoses - they're a bit inflexible.Masking is very important. Obviously you're about to spray ungodly amounts of paint everywhere so if you haven't covered everything that you don't want painted you're going to have a bad time.Whilst the air in the room gets way less misty with paint than with air-sprayers a mask is still a very good idea. Also covering yourself head-to-toe is recommended unless you enjoy using emulsion as moisturiser. You will want to spend time after each use cleaning the machine fairly thoroughly. The instructions for this may seem a little daunting at first but once you get the hang of it it's fine.

Horrific Reliability
30 July 2022

We used this to spray black satin paint from johnstones - water based and similar consistency to regular white emulsion used on walls.Pros - it is excellent when it works. Did walls in fractions of the time of normal rollering.Cons - However we have two replaced on warranty so overall had three machines. Every single one failed. Was always related to the machine leaking after use. I'm not talking about months down the line - always within the first few weeks of use. We were probably more heavy duty than spraying bedrooms and the pump gets really hot from use and then the seals fail and this machine ends up making an almighty mess. They stopped replacing them after the third one but I can categorically say reliability is horrific on these and i can only imagine ... MoreWe used this to spray black satin paint from johnstones - water based and similar consistency to regular white emulsion used on walls.Pros - it is excellent when it works. We did an 800 square foot warehouse - the four walls.I can only suggest to avoid.Look up online and you'll see loads of others with similar problems - just not on this website.

Not worth the cost

Bought this to paint ceilings and walls. The fan pattern is awful as one of spray faults is fingering, You get atomised paint in the middle and at either end is a jet of paint so you end up with heavy lines whatever you paint. No pressure regulator as it comes out uncontrollable. it serges, sudden drops of pressure and ended with squirts of paint up the wall. Had to use a roller to remove this as well as the runs. I mixed the emulsion paint with water at 10%. I spent most of my time cleaning this and checking I've put everything together correctly, watched a number of videos on the set up and use. I am a paint Sprayer have been for 12 years. Ended up just using roller. Not happy with this product, will be returning.

Setting up using water

This is a copy of feedback I submitted to Wagner regarding setting up with water and the fact that water leaked from the spray tip, which I thought was a problem. I hope this helps other people."I would like to suggest that the following point is included in your instructions. I bought the Control 150M and used water to set it up as per the instructions. I found that the water leaked out of the spray tip. I thought this was a fault and returned the unit to the retailer for an exchange unit. The exchange unit did the same so I experimented with paint. I found that the spray tip did not leak when paint was used. I am assuming that because water has a lower viscosity than paint that the water can bypass the saddle seat washer and drip out of the spray tip. Wagner 150m overall nice little sprayer

Bought this as a first sprayer have done a few jobs with this always gives an amazing finish setup is nice and easy as for comments for blocking never happens you have to dilute the paint cheap paint will block because it's cheap. I personally love this machine yes the hose is too rigid so makes it awkward and a pain moving around but overall nice spray system. Cleaning well this is why I marked it down. Cleaning is a complete ball ache. On the video it states with just a few wipes. Defiantly not takes me about a good hour to clean. I take pride and look after my stuff so I expect it to look how it came out on first use. Messy as anything maybe should design some sort of plastic insert sheets or something. So novice or pro good painter just dilute and don't rush you ... MoreBought this as a first sprayer have done a few jobs with this always gives an amazing finish setup is nice and easy as for comments for blocking never happens you have to dilute the paint cheap paint will block because it's cheap. Not having used a sprayer before I am pleased with the results. The pressure hose is tightly coiled up when new and using it is a bit like wrestling a snake, I am hoping it will relax a bit with time and a bit of warmer weather. I would like to see Wagner include a spanner or two, at this price point Its a bit mean not to. To nip up the gun and hose fittings you will need 4 different size spanners,14mm, 16mm, 17mm and 19mm. The larger of the two nozzles (515) doesn't half put some paint out and care must be taken that you are moving fast enough or you will end up with runs and sags, I found out the hard way lol. Also some sort of knuckle joint at the gun end would be good and would help with the hose problem. I got this in the sale so even more chuffed, my advice is to cut in as you would if using a roller - it seems to struggle a little in the corners and gives you a better finish. I did a room (that's the size of 2 large rooms tbh) in 4hours - that's sprayed twice - done dustered. Easy to clean - look after it and it will look after you. It will be great for painting fences and decking areas next spring. Wouldn't advise to use it in a room that has carpets already down, unless your super good at taping them up, although it's fine the spray goes everywhere and wear overrals, mask and googles or you'll look like a ghost when finished. The only chew with this is you have to mask everything off but even factering that in it still saves you massive amounts of time. ... MoreI got this in the sale so even more chuffed, my advice is to cut in as you would if using a roller - it seems to struggle a little in the corners and gives you a better finish. Purchased it as I have a fully renovated house to paint. A tradesman would have charged me a fortune so even spending money on this machine, paint and my time still saved me...guessing £1000+ and I have it for years to come.
