I was just needing to buy a cape to use while cutting my own hair and ended getting this. The cape is basic and would do the job for doing someone else's hair, not so good for your own hair. The scissors are a little stuff but work, but would recommend some decent scissors as you could not rely on these. Small water bottle, but gives a decent mist and works for what you need it for. The brush is nice as well. Comb is basic but works well. I would have bought a cape on its own and cannot believe that Shaver Shop does not have a small range available, especially during lockdown. Still looking at buying a better cape, but at least half the stuff in this kit was useful.
I used on my partner and was super easy to use. He liked the Cape and I liked the spray bottle. Scissors were nice and sharp! Turned out well!
I am an ageing former Hairdresser with Parkinsons - my hair was looking atrocious because of lockdown. Your apprentice kit was just perfect, with the help of a daughter we got the. job done in good style. Thank you - anyone in lockdown could do with a set like this to do every head of hair in the house.
This is a pretty good kit, especially for people doing cuts at home. I primarily bought it for the cape, brush & spray bottle but the scissors are really nice too, the quality feels great. I can't say whether it's ideal for barbers in a professional environment but for the price & quality of the items (bar the spray bottle & cape) it's actually pretty good. The brush is fairly soft & okay for brushing away cut hair but it's designed more for applying shaving cream. Personally I don't mind, it's just a little bit more of an effort to remove hair as opposed to harder bristles, but we're talking like an extra brush. The spray bottle isn't too bad, good for home use & it's compact too. The cape is okay, much better than the standalone cape I bought here. Now you can choke yourself without the help of a barber. The scissors I haven't really used but they don't feel too cheap. Only thing I can think of that this kit is missing are thinning scissors & a carry pouch. Otherwise it's been a helpful kit to have for COVID cuts & will be for all future cuts I do on myself.
The Scissors blades are too thick, as is the comb and the Cape is too short , allows all the hair to fall into the person's lap! Expected better from a professional brand.
Good number of accessories, just wish the cape was longer. Scissors are excellent.
