Climbing for real

Highly recommended 👌

Definitely a great product but only really for hill climb veterans

This is close to a 5 start but I couldn't do this because there are a few points to mention after riding nearly 700 km in a few weeks.1. Erg mode is not without its issues. If you stop pedalling for a few seconds, the drop out kills the erg mode and it can sometimes be difficult to re-establish connection.2. The Kickr climb is a nice addition but it only really works and is noticeable on steep inclines so only veteran hill climbers need to get it. On the plus, it saves space as a front wheel is no longer needed.Other that these minor negatives, I absolutely love the the Wahoo Kickr and Kickr climb and if you enjoy cycling daily, it is worth every penny!

Great purchase!

A two hour group training ride with intervals recently left me barely able to walk down stairs!! It would take a hugely long outdoor ride to achieve similar effects, something not really practical with other life commitments in the way.The Kickr Climb has been brilliant; very easy to set up (luckily I already have a bike running Shimano 105). The climb adds to the authenticity and immersive nature of the Zwift hills, particularly when you're on a free ride. It can be easily turned on-and-off mid ride if your on a training block and want to focus purely on Watts.Overall I'm completely converted. The best bike related purchase I've made in years and a must for anyone who has the space to set it up and the budget to go the whole hog!

Impressive experience, exceeded my expectations.
3 May 2021

I was a bit skeptical when I first heard about Climb. I thought it's quite a lot of money for what I would have considered nothing but a one-trick pony toy. Now I can't imagine riding without it and find myself a little disappointed when a training session takes place at 0% incline. What I love: it really makes the ride feel more natural, closer to the experience of riding outdoors. When there's a hill to climb in Zwift I use the same muscles I would in real life. It seems like a small change in the setup but I feel like it makes a big difference to prepare for the next outdoor rides. It seems like a small change in the setup but I feel like it makes a big difference to prepare for the next outdoor rides. The first time I rode the Climb my muscles were sore the day after and I realized that despite of riding in different gears, I was really pretty much using the same muscle groups and didn't work others that I would normally activate outside. I think in the long term it will also help balance the work and prevent injuries from overuse. I'm very happy with this unit. I would have given it 5 stars if it didn't sometimes randomly stop working so I have to re-pair it with the trainer during my ride. It's annoying when you're riding up a hill, reach the top, and the Climb doesn't adjust to the downhill portion anymore and you have to use the remote to pair it with the trainer again. It didn't happen very often, but when it does it kind of ruins the immersion and distracts from the ride. But I'm not sure if it's an issue with the firmware (fully updated), Zwift, or the computer Zwift is running on, or my phone - this is something I still need to figure out.

KICKR CLIMB Review
1 January 2023

This is a luxury accessory. I was hesitant to buy it but I am pleased that I did. It adds a little extra to the experience of what can be sometimes dull indoor riding. I used it mainly with the FulGaz app for which it matched gradients, though with a slight delay compared to the video which may be more of a problem with the app that the CLIMB. The only other reason that I don’t give 5 stars is that it can be slightly noisy, rumbling felt through handlebars and responds to changes in gradient more in bursts of movement rather than smooth movement. Maybe future app and firmware updates may improve this. A good buy overall and enjoying it.

Next Level
19 January 2023

I've been using a Kickr for several years. Adding the Kickr Climb has definitely taken the experience up a level. By simulating climbing and descending by changing the height of the front fork, you get the same change in position that you would expect in the real world. Those changes in position seem to reduce overall discomfort because you're changing position instead of staying in one position for the entire workout. It also feels more realistic because it feels like you're recruiting slightly different muscle groups because of being in different positions. I'm glad I added this into my setup.

Poor design and mechanical problem
20 September 2022

It was linked to my Kickr Snap to simulate the grade of a routes, but after a few indoor rides, it stopped working during rides. I tried moving it up/down manually (Locked mode), but there is no movement. I surfed the internet and realized this is one of the worst Wahoo products ever because of poor design. The other common issue is snapping belt which can be dangerous during rides. I don't recommend this product at all as the rate of failure is severely high.

The Climb, making indoor climbing fun!
6 May 2022

This is one of those accessories that if you never used it, you would not miss it. Once you own and use a Climb you will wonder how you ever lived without it. I am fortunate to live and ride in a region with wonderful year-round weather and some fantastic climbs. The Climb helps me simulate the feel of my local climbs for those days when the weather is not cooperating or when work/family obligations keep me from riding outside. The Climb is quiet, responsive and fun to use. I highly recommend it. Next Purchase: The Wahoo fan. Not cheap at $249.00, but everyone raves about it!

UPS and downs on the Kickr Climb
30 December 2022

Well it does bring a whole new element to riding indoor.A couple of things that I’m not thrilled about. Is the feel. It’s not that smooth. But then again, it could be the program platform that I’m onAlso the noise! When I’m going up or down the motor has a growling sound that’s not natural to the riding experience! I really don’t want to hear anything but my heart rate and breathing! But I’m going to keep on using it until I’m finished!

Wish I’d purchased sooner!
16 December 2022

Having used a kickr 1 for several years, I decided to upgrade to the core as it had more connectivity. I took the plunge during Black Friday to purchase the Kickr climb. Wow it’s amazing certainly added a better ride experience, to zwift. The added movement has reduced saddle pressure. Once paired the incline s and declines on zwift are instant, heads any noice from the Kickr climb. I held off for several years but now wish I’d purchased it much sooner.
