I tried out the Kickr snap which doesn't require shifter adjustments (due to using the same cassette). However, after riding a few times I realize I get the RPMs up and coast too often. I hear I can make adjustments on the Kicker App, but resistance adjustments occur all the time. Who wants to keep grabbing their phone and opening the app to make these small adjustments? I think I will go with a comparably priced exercise bike instead. Perhaps someday I will visit the land of Watopia. But not until the technology for bike trainers are better.

I went with this trainer because I didn't want to mess with taking my rear wheel off. As I got the bike (2021 TCR) really dialed in with the shifting. Also, I want to be able to take it back outside really easily. Maybe people would say it's simple to take on and off the rear wheel, but again I didn't want to mess with it.I been using Assioma Duo as my cadence sensor, so that the tire pressure always being the same each ride isn't as critical. Or doing the spin down each ride not being as critical. However, I do still keep a close on the tire pressure. If you don't have a cadence sensor, and will need to be keeping a close on tire pressure, make sure you have an easy way to fill it with air while on the trainer. The trainer for my rides have been perfect. I wanted something to use during winter and pair with Zwift. Haven't done a ton of rides, but so far it's flawless. We will see how many years/miles I will get out of it. So far, I don't feel like I'm missing out not getting the more expensive Wahoo trainers.

Mechanical set up was quite easy, soon became apparent that I needed to change the quick release to the supplied unit.Used the set up instructions to the letter but the suggested pressure on the rear tyre roller was way too much and I couldn't peddle. Took me a bit of time to find just the right roller pressure. I could not get ERG mode working with Zwift, but finally sorted it on my third ride by using the Zwift companion app.Once all the little problems where overcome the trainer worked fine. However I am developing a flat track on my tyre which I wasn't expecting. So my advice is use a cheap tear tyre.

I consider myself a beginner cyclist. I enjoy it but I’m not great and don’t have time to train lots. For years I had a basic turbo training and could get by when using Zwift, but did not feel I was getting the full experience. I wanted to upgrade to a smart trainer but did not want to break the bank as I can only get on it once a week. Some of the disadvantages I saw on reviews were about max inclination simulation and noice. Well.. the snap is definitely able to handle more power than me, and noice it’s really only coming from my gears … if you are looking for an entry level .. this is greatVery robust build and syncs super easy, as well as the set up
I purchased a KICKR Core, and was very happy with the product for the first year, and following directions for consistent performance of the product. After about 14 months, the unit noticeably declined in performance. The power feedback became inconsistent and difficulty level of resistance would also fluctuate. My son is also an avid cyclist and noticed the unit's feedback speed declined by 3-5mph and power output declining by 30-40 watts, almost overnight. We received a refurbished unit from Wahoo as a replacement and still have similar issues. Ultimately Wahoo has been unable to troubleshoot us to point of satisfaction as we were originally and now the unit is rarely used. We're very disappointed in a sizable investment.
The trainer was relatively easy to set up, customer service was easy to access when I did get stuck. The trainer itself works well, is very stable, and can even withstand my 3 year old hanging on the handle bars while I ride. I am brand new to using a trainer but am happy with my purchase. The resistance definitely adds a challenge, although it doesn’t seem like much more than just kicking my bike into the highest gear. I like the info the app provides about the length and average speed of the “ride.” This is my first trainer but I do find myself using it almost daily because it feels good to ride when conditions outdoors aren’t conducive to a real ride.
This trainer is super silent when using slick tires - my drivetrain is the loudest noise. People complaining about noise are most likely using a sub-optimal tire for this type of trainer. If you use a knobby tire, you'll obviously hear tire whine, just as you would on the road. Also, quite a few reviews here are about other Wahoo products so the rating is all messed up. Don't let fool this you. I bought this 2 years ago, using 2-3 time per week, with a Specialized espoir tire. Since then, direct drive trainers have come down in price considerably, and you get can started with direct drive for $400-$500. When I got this trainer, prices were at least double that., and I didn't want to deal with mounting the wheel when I'd need the bike outside. At current direct drive ... At current direct drive trainer prices, however, I would think hard about possibly going the direct drive route, and skipping a wheel-on trainer like this one. Having said that, this trainer is excellent.
Absolutely delighted with the Wahoo Kickr Snap.Easy to setup, fantastic build quality and the Wahoo Systm app and eco system is superb - better than Zwift in my opinion as being middle aged, out of shape, and only using a modest hybrid bike, I'm not looking to compete with wafer thin racers online. Instead the activities all being scaled to my fitness level makes every session hugely engaging, exciting and rewarding. I'm absolutely hooked after just 2 weeks and can't wait to get started on my Full Monty FTP training plan.I ride a Specialized Crosstrail Sports Disc, have used the supplied thru axle on the existing wheel and tyre and works brilliantly; the noise is barely noticeable (I connect my ipad to a Bluetooth speaker to really emerse myself), rides ... I couldn't have been happier or more impressed. In short, one of the best purchases I've ever made; I really think this will be a game changer for my physical and mental fitness (such a fantastic release at the end of the day, regardless of weather or current restrictions).
I ordered a freehub to have my bike on the wahoo kickr core.I ended up using it on a bother bike and had to return the feeehub.I followed instructions to return purchase.I recieved email confirmation that my return had been received. It also came with an email stating it would take ~7 business days to get refund on my credit card, just under $75.After almost a month with no refund, and 2 emails, I called.I was asked for tracking # for return.I said, why would I need tracking if I have confirmation these you received my return? They gave me a hard time.If you have to beg for a company that deals with retail and that does not value 1) your time 2) your business give your business to some other organization that does. There are way too many options.Time and ... It very happy with the kickr.Had issues with Kickr core being set up with my #1 bike with sram etso force shifting with 10/44 cassette. It never synced fine so I had to put cassette on the kickr to match bike #2 with a manual shimano ultegra. It keeps jumping gears, and after 600-800 miles in the last 45 days, I am taking bike for tune up cause gears shifting all over, took bike off trainer for a road ride when temps were nice and the gearing just was off with noises, jumping gears, miss adjustments. Wahoo, cheap version l, not ultimate quality. Garmin May be more $ but they never gave me a hard time for a refund, always stood behind their product and quality.
-assembly out of the box is minimal, is sturdy and seems like is manufactured with quality.-i had used it for aprox one month and i keep getting it disconnected from ZWIFT. bought a ANT+ adapter and is better but still gets disconnected a hand full of times during a training session.-the mechanism that applies pressure to the tire could be better, you have to "guess" how much to tighten it which create the need to calibrate each time. it is a hassle since we swap bikes between me and my wife every day. my old TACX had a on/off lever, much better system-the "calibration" process is a joke! really!!!! so i use the zwift calibration process instead.-the app dont really use it, so i cant comment.
