Are you still love getting the gluten free butter cookies made by this brand, but they were discontinued. So obviously when I saw these, I thought they would be just as good. However, I'm not really a fan of these cookies. To me they taste more like slightly sweet barely flavored paste than a shortbread cookie. The texture is odd, and not at all like a shortbread cookie should be.

I’ve never had a shortbread I didn’t like so it’s safe to say Walkers does a good one. It’s rich, it’s crumbly but not too much, holds the moisture but still crunches at every bite. It’s tough not to eat a whole lot when you start having one or two. Eat at your own risk…of getting addicted.

One of the things I really missed when I first went gluten-free was the shortbread cookies that you get in the metal tins at Christmas time. So I was very excited to find these!. I was extremely disappointed. They taste nothing like the cookies in the tin. They are too soft, not buttery enough, not sweet enough, and the texture is all wrong. That being said - I have a friend who is gluten-free who LOVES these and swears they taste the same as the cookies in the tin. But they are not fo me.

I tried these cookies yesterday and I can't express my happiness that I finally found the authentic butter cookies which are free from any artificial flavors. I enjoyed these cookies especially with evening tea and it melts like butter in the mouth.
Walker is a great brand and does its heritage justice. Yum! Highly recommend for anyone who craves a delicious, buttery, shortbread cookie. It’s got great flavor, texture and density. I love the mini pack for a treat on the go without needing to purchase a whole box. I wish these packs were a bit less expensive but sometimes your cravings win!
The flavor was great but you can’t buy these in the store, they only ship and they arrived in complete crumbs. It’s not worth the time and money to go through the process to return these. Maybe if you’re making some sort of layered dessert.
I was given these for Christmas and immediately ordered a few packets of both the plain and ginger lemon flavour. Wow and not just “good for GF”. I would choose them over non GF and that’s a big statement from me as I love shortbread.
I purchased a box of these cookies to give my uncle as a thank-you gift for putting up a new curtain rod and set of curtains in my living room. Our family is of Scottish decent, and he loves these cookies. We give him a box every Christmas, and when I saw that these were available here, I decided giving him a box now would be an unexpected treat. Since I haven't seen him since they arrived, I haven't given them to him yet, so I don't know whether they're as good as the ones sold in the local stores during the holidays, but since it's the same brand, I expect them to be the same quality.
I bought the shortbread minis. I love shortbread cookies. I bake shortbread cookies all the time. These are just like the ones I make. Sure is nice to find something this good. I will buy these often.
Purchased 10 boxes each of Walker's Original shortbread rounds, sticks and triangles. Texture and taste can't be beat. I tried Cosco's Kirkland shortbread cookies because they were less expensive, but boy was I disappointed. A very inferior substitute compared to Walker's...less butter, much drier and mote crumbly.If you enjoy shortbread cookies or want to give as a nice gift to a worthy recipient look no further than Walker's.
