This game was just not it. I’ve played so many LEGO Star Wars games, and usually it isn’t split screen the whole time. When you’re close, there’s no split screen, when you’re far, there’s a split screen but it adjusts (it is to the left if you’re to the left, or vice versa, and it goes diagonal). It’s just jarring. The combat is kinda neat though. I prefer mumbling dialogue personally, and while they have that option, it lacks the same level of quality as the original. The graphics are awesome, I love the whole character collection thing per usual, but since I bought this game for multiplayer I’m giving it 3 stars and regret my purchase.

Very disappointed that the employee that opened the box that my "Ultimate Edition" game was in decided to use a razor blade and managed to cut through the front of my game case. This was tragic seeing as one of the main features of the deluxe edition was the clear plastic sleeve with Darth Vader's helmet printed on it, so when you slide the sleeve off his helmet comes off. Well unfortunately the cut went straight through Darth Vader's helmet and now it's totally ruined. Thanks a lot Best Buy employee that didn't bother to read the box that most likely said NOT to use a razor. Overall, I love the game. I got into the lego games last year and now own several. Being that this one is star wars, makes it even more appealing to me. My only problem is it glitches off and on, freezes on occasion which messes up whatever im doing at the time (one time it froze for a minute in the middle of jumping across something and when it unfroze, I fell and died lol), and it has completely crashed a couple times so far which made me have to close it out and restart it and the whole level all over. I found out the makers had an update right after release to fix those problems, unfortunately it was for all other platforms except the switch version. I didn't really start into LEGO games until my kids started into them during the Wii U era, so I was late to the Star Wars series. There is a clear distinction between the older and newer titles which was a shame because Star Wars and LEGO go so well together. This is one of the best games I have ever played. I absolutely love it. Lego games never disappoint. The gameplay is fun and engaging. The graphics are stunning. And the humor is absolutely hilarious. For Clone Wars Fans, the dialogue is performed by the voice actors from the Clone Wars. It’s truly amazing to hear the iconic lines performed in those voices. I love the open world feel and all the space travel from planet to planet. It’s constantly fresh and fun. And the optional space battles are so cool. I have spent a lot of time just playing those sections because I am having such a good time. If you love Star Wars and Lego this will not disappoint. And even if you didn’t know them it would still be a fantastic game.

Over all, a fun game to play. This game is what I expect it to be and improve on many things what past LEGO game have done. It introduce in mechanic that make the game easy to navigate and the story is fun and funny. However this game is not for every one. LEGO game is about collecting things, so people who does not like these long scavenger hunt may find the game boring. Also during my time playing the game, I ran into a couple of glitch that made me reload the game. Beside that, overall a great game.
I played Lego Star Wars 2 on Xbox 360 just before I played Skywalker. #2 just had the original 3 films and was pretty fun. The original 3 films in Skywalker were the best by far. They had all of the major scenes. The humor is definitely still there & the puzzles. There isn’t as much building as past Lego games. Skywalker even made the first 3 films bearable. My favorite of those is #3 when Anakin becomes Darth Vader. The last three episodes, like the films, were pretty terrible. The only thing good about them was making fun of Kylo Ren- having him shirtless, etc. I don’t think I’d play through the last three again. But I would return to the first six, especially the original three. The game ran & looked good on the Switch. Overall, I’d give it an 8/10 or a 4/5.

The main reason for taking off one star is that it's a very buggy game. Some of these have been really bizarre and required completely shutting down the game and some quick maneuvering to break out of the cycle.
