Waterman Ballpoint Pen Refill - Medium Blue

The ball diameter of the Waterman rollerballink refills is 0.5 mm. Waterman describes them as a fine point, but they also suit someone like myself who prefers a medium point. The ink flows from them in a very controlled and smooth way and they make for a very enjoyable and skip-free writing experience. They combine the convenience of a ballpoint pen with the smoothness of a fountain pen. I am very impressed with their performance, and if you do a lot of hand writing then you will love them too.

As Reliable As Ever

I bought this replacement item for my rollerball pen a few weeks ago. I am so glad I did. I had tried a few less expensive substitutes, but none wrote as smoothly as this one does.

Brand your Brand

It may not be true of most consumer products, but with some prestige brands, you really do get what you pay for. Mont Blanc, Cross, Waterman writing instruments all actually write well and "feel" luxurious because of BOTH the material in the pen itself AND because of the concern for detail given the refill you put in it. After all, the refill is where the smooth silky roller, ballpoint, or nib is located, and the ink is the source of the look and feel and longevity of what you write on the page-not the beautiful finish on the barrel of the pen itself. The pen is what I wanted & feels right in my hand. My only problem is it appears that I ordered black refills by mistake. I never use black ink, which means I will have to find someone that can use them or end up throwing them away.

Good refill for my Waterman pen

I needed a new refill for my Waterman andOffice Depot has a great variety of refills for many brands of pens. I prefer fine point and this refill has a clean smooth line when using it.

Great Refill for a Great Pen

Have used Waterman pens for 50 years. The roller ball ink is great; doesn't smear easily; dries rapidly; doesn't build up goo on the tip.

Long lasting and smooth writing

This is the refill for those who enjoy writing with fine instruments, like the Waterman pen. The fine (0.5) point is great for record keeping or hand written notes and cards. It is not bold. It creates elegant, easily read lines. I usually use black, but only blue was available. The ink is solid in application.

Not good - poor writing performance

I have proudly owned my Waterman pen for several years, but getting refills has been a challenge from the beginning. I have used this item several times including its blue counterpart. Refills of both colors perform poorly in several aspects: a) skipping - the refill skips consistently, so much so that I initially thought the item was designed to do so. I could not write a sentence without skips on certain writing strokes; 2) the ink flow is poor, being irregular with the initial touch to the writing surface characterized sometimes by an ink blob; 3) they dry out too quickly for my liking. I do not use the pen everyday, mainly on special occasions for signing documents or during important meetings (as an accessory). I recently learned from another Waterman owner that a G2 pen refill offers superior performance for significantly less expense. I will be migrating to that product for the next refill.

Perfect fit - but not exactly "fine point"

I installed this refill, expecting to have a very fine point pen to use at work. The first time I used it, the result was blotchy. I attributed that to it being a new refill. Unfortunately, the only way to get a fine line is to wipe the tip clean ... every time you use the pen.I have tossed this pen in the drawer and am now using a different writing instrument.

Tough To Find Refill

I have a very nice Waterman Ball Point Pen which was a Christmas gift from my employer. It is 12 years old. I went to 10 Stationary stores to try to find a refill including Office Max and Staples stores. Nobody carried this refill. I wrote to Waterman and they referred me immediately to Pen Boutique Ltd. They had the Refill in stock at a very good price and I received my refill in two days. You won't find Refills for fine Writing Instruments in a "Big Box" store. So, save yourself the aggravation and shop with Pen Boutique!
