The first time I bought this exact model, it was electric. Yup, it was corded so it wouldn't work unless plugged in. However, it was SOOO very powerful, I felt the clean every single time. It was a rough adjustment for the first couple of days but I got used to it pretty quickly.Well, my toddler decided to use it in the toilet so I had to order a replacement and was disappointed to see it came as a cordless unit with barriers. This thing is terribly frustrating. The pressure is so weak, it barely tickles my gums and I can feel the plaque building up. I tried scouring the earth for the one I'd originally purchased but to no avail. I loved how neat and easy it was to use over the more bulky and cumbersome models but now, it's useless to me. Lousy product. Very disappointed. I bought it mainly for travel purposes. It lasted only a few months and the battery became very weak. I called customer service to report the problem, and they sent me a replacement since it was within warranty. But again the battery stopped working after a few months. Customer service said the unit was not supposed to be used consecutively because that can weaken the battery. In reality the 30 seconds of water it holds does not provide enough time for cleaning. So this product basically is useless. Also I almost snapped and cut my fingers when I first assembled it. Not a good design. I would give it a Zero rating if there is such option.

I had this same model for about 3 years and was pleased, but I wanted to replace the old one because of crusty build up from hard water over the years. The new item has absolutley no water pressure. It has pressure for about 3 seconds and then fizzles out. Water is leaking out from somewhere. I have tried charging it for over a full day thinking maybe it was just not charged well enough but I don't think the battery charge is the problem. Another issue is it is nearly impossible to assemble it into the base. Twice I have severely pinched the palm of my hand when trying to get the thing to snap in. Maybe where a pair of rubber gloves to protect your hand. I don't have the box anymore, so can't return it. It is going in the trash. Save yourself some money and buy a ... MoreI had this same model for about 3 years and was pleased, but I wanted to replace the old one because of crusty build up from hard water over the years. Fairly good. Down sides: AC chgr not included, plus instructions didn't advise exact output of AC chgr to buy. We called to find out. Water tank less volume than previous Waterpik model, must lay on side to dry out bc cap falls down %26 air can't get inside to dry unit out. Charging connection not protected from water getting around connection, assuming it doesn't matter. only 1 speed, previous unit had 2 speeds. however, the older unit at least arrived with complete charging units. Only used new unit 2 days. Time will tell. this review will help mfg more than anyone to do better next go around.
On my second one in less than 5 months. Wish I seen these reviews. When I called in to complain which I was not very nice cause I was so disgusted going on a third one I might of used the word r crap and the guy got mad at me. Would never buy Waterpik products again. Let's see how number three works out. All the reviews are what I was experiencing with mine and the guy was giving me the third degree like I was lying. I asked him if there was many complaints about this he said yes. Pressure is horrible, can not reject the pik and the first one just died the second one sounds like it was about to die when I was using it. Tired of wasting my time on the phone with customer service to get a replacement. I had asked to just send me a refund but they won't.

The reservoir will quickly empty in 30 seconds so be quick when flossing -or- stop and refill the reservoir. It is impossible to floss the front upper and lower teeth and the back of the upper and lower teeth in 30 seconds.WATER SPLASHES EVERYWHERE so keep a towel or washcloth handy.
It works, but whoever designed this should be fired. The water reservoir is too small to do an entire cleaning without refilling. The unit is not able to get all of the water out of the bottom of the unit so there’s always a little bit left in there which is gross. if held upright, the lid does not stay open without you holding it. you cannot fill up the unit in a sink without getting water all over the entire thing and including the charging port which does not have a cover for it. And once snapped on initially, you cannot remove the reservoir. It only lasts for 6 to 8 uses before you have to recharge it.
On the positive side I was happily surprised at the amount of food debris this device removed from my teeth even after using floss and soft picks. On the negative side the product could use some improvements immediately: 1) add an audio alarm when the water reservoir becomes empty (it's not always apparent that no more water is coming out onto your gums); 2) as soon as water begins filling the reservoir, water begins leaking out of the bottom onto the counter and makes for a messy situation on the counter; 3) provide a measured cup for pouring water into the reservoir - one doesn't know when the reservoir is full until water overflows from the reservoir and splash down onto the counter; 4) the instructions wrongly say the reservoir can be removed "by simply pulling ... MoreOn the positive side I was happily surprised at the amount of food debris this device removed from my teeth even after using floss and soft picks. I have been using for a couple months now. My dentist recommended a water flosser and hydrogen.peroxide to get into areas under molars. This flosser work great, I normally do a manual flosser and follow with the water flosser. I don't like the proprietary cord to charge, as I take the unit to a different outlet to charge. Luckily this is only necessary every couple weeks.- Filling lid needs a detent to hold it open for filling. The lid just flops closed if not held open. I also would like to keep the lid open between uses to facilitate drying inside the reservoir.- Momentary on switch. The on off switch is a clicker, and you sometimes want to allow the nozzle to exit your mouth. A momentary switch would allow for a more intuitive way to find the off setting while flossing avoiding "power washing" your bathroom mirror and cheeks. ;^)All in all, a great product that is going to help keep your teeth and gums healthy, and impress your dentist on your next visit!
