It works well with my extremely sensitive gums and efficiently cleans along the hum line, between my teeth, and leaves my teeth feeling clean each time. The handle fits perfectly into my hand and can be rotated 360 degrees, just like the tips. I love that the flosser comes with two different modes- clean and sensitive- which can be changed directly from the handle. One of my favorite parts of the water flosser is the magnetic “handle cradle”! The handle is held securely held in place while the water house automatically loops itself around the “cradle”. I did experience some water leakage during and after use, where the swivel handle connects to the water hose, which I am not sure if it is normal.

I purchased this battery-operated flosser because of its smaller size %26 that it was great for traveling since it didn't have a cord. Well, I've only had it for 6 months, and it seems I'm always replacing the batteries. It doesn't hold a charge long. Also, since the first time I starting using it, the switch has always been hard to move. I kept using it thinking that the more I use it, it would loosen up. Needless to say, it didn't. I contacted Waterpik, and they seem to blame it on something I've done! Now, 6 months later, it doesn't hold a charge even with new batteries! Ugh! Now I need to look for another.

Great product!!

I like this ALOT and it immediately solved a problem area I'd been unable to care for adequately by flossing. I don't have much countertop space for a stand-alone water reservoir, nor is there an extra electric socket available in my bathroom, so having this battery operated option was a real problem solver.I agree with several of the other commenter's suggestions though:1. Would be helpful to have the power button require holding to stay on... would avoid the occasional oops of spraying mirror etc while trying to turn it off. The on/off slider definitely doesnt slide easily and is not easy to operate,2. The stream can indeed be too strong when the batteries are new, even on the low pressure setting. The on/off slider definitely doesnt slide easily and is not easy to operate,2. The stream can indeed be too strong when the batteries are new, even on the low pressure setting. I've cut my gum and/or cheek more than once while transitioning from outer tooth surfaces to inside mouth surfaces. I now turn it off briefly to do this when the batteries are new3. The water reservoir sometimes doesn't want to reattach/stay attached to the handle. I initially was removing it from the handle after each use to ensure it drained and dried fully and thereby improve device hygiene. I would prefer to do this but, because of the re-assembly issue, now wait a week or so between fully disassembling for thorough cleaning. Of note: it says the reservoir is top-rack dishwasher safe... true enough but, the plastic becomes very cloudy, most likely due to the dishwasher's hotter than usual water.4. Battery life. The bane of modern life! I like the device best when the batteries are a day or more old so that the stream is not quite so strong. As the batteries become weaker, I just switch to using the higher pressure setting and continue using until the batteries die completely. Dead batteries are the only reason I've found thus far for the device to stop working. The instructions clearly say to lightly lubricate the seal after changing the batteries and I've had no trouble with water getting inside the compartment and fouling things up.5. Some folks thought the water doesn't last long enough. This is true enough with new batteries in the device and used on the high pressure setting. How long the water lasts is one way I use to judge how much longer the batteries will last. Generally speaking, I can clean the outside surfaces of my teeth with one reservoir of water, refill, and then clean the inside surfaces. Using the different tips also has an impact on how long the water lasts. How many times refill is needed is absolutely dependent upon how the device is used, and 'your mileage may vary' as the saying goes.Did I mention that I love this product? lol

Might be dangerous
20 December 2021

I recently purchased the Warerpik Cordless Express Water Flosser following an orthodontist appointment with my daughter. The orthodontist suggested a water pick for her to use with her expander/braces. I immediately went to Walmart and found this water pick (the only one there was to choose from) and headed for the check out. Once in the comfort of my home I opened the package and began the relatively short assembly process. I was able to put the entire thing together from simply looking at the picture on the box. I’ll admit, I don’t have any experience with water picks but how difficult could it be? Once assembled I installed the batteries, filled it with water, and tested it in the sink. I’ll admit, I don’t have any experience with water picks but how difficult could it be? Once assembled I installed the batteries, filled it with water, and tested it in the sink. This unit comes with 2 pressure settings. Level 1 which is apparently for removing rust and Level 2 which might as well be a plasma cutter. It also comes with 2 heads for the unit. 1 is “regular” and the other “jet”… both are dangerous! After the brief test firing into the sink, I thought I should try it before giving it to my 9 year old. I refilled the water and turned the military grade torture device onto myself. As the pick entered my mouth I used my thumb to activate the pressure setting level 1. I immediately shot my uvula, which not only hurt but caused me to jerk away. By the time I was able to turn the unit off, I had already sprayed my self in the face and most of the bathroom mirror was covered in water. I’m no expert on water picks but I’m not sure my gums should be bleeding… maybe you’ll like it, maybe you won’t… I’m returning this one as I’m not comfortable giving my 9 year old this powerful of a weapon.

Miracle Tooth Cleaning made easy
12 November 2023

I LOVE this battery powered Waterpik. I stopped using one because those tubs sitting on the bathroom sink took too much room. This one works really well and I noticed an immediate reduction in the plaque between my teeth on the first use. It's also kind of fun watching the food flushed into the sink in a way that regular floss cannot do. My mouth feels cleaner and fresher all the time. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it goes through batteries in a week to keep it operating at peak stream which could be expensive. I'm just using rechargeable batteries to solve the problem, it's a pretty easy fix. Even so, I HIGHLY recommend this device.

New User Likes/Dislikes

First time user, so there was a learning curve. I can tell it cleans well and I am getting better at controlling it. I have only used the low setting and it took getting used to the powerful blasts. Ergonomics are decent but the switch is awkward and hard to move on and off and sometimes I will skip past the low setting and jump to the high setting while trying to turn it on. Also not easy to slide down to turn off. I would prefer a rocker style switch. It takes me three refills of the water reservoir to clean, but then again, I am a newbie and probably not doing it right. Installing & replacing batteries is also a little complicated so they put a sticker on the bottom to help.

Runs out of water super quickly
5 April 2024

The tank is not the largest, but that tends to be the case in most travel models of water flossers. It runs out of water rapidly when in use and even when in the low pressure setting, it’s still very fast. It is efficient and effective, but not much difference between the lower pressure and higher pressure setting, which also seems to be the case in many travel models of this type no matter what the brand name is or whatever. If you’re looking for a good quality one, get the kind that fits a faucet or shower or something, and use the travel model for cleaning the grout around your kitchen (so don’t use it in your mouth afterwards!). It’s better for that than using in your actual mouth. At all.

Some tips fall off, water tank wouldn't stay on
12 December 2020

The Pik Pocket tip that I ordered separately sometimes falls off, I think from the antibacterial mouthwash I use (active ingredient is Cetylpyridinium chloride). I was told that air bubbles can cause the tip to eject, and the mouthwash does get bubbly. Eventually, after attempting to use it several times and pouring water into the tip port, without the tip, in an attempt to clean it, the Pik Pocket tip will stay in. I read somewhere in Waterpik's literature that non-alcoholic mouthwash should work, but in my opinion, it works so poorly when the Pik Pocket tip is used due to the required cleaning procedure to prevent the tip from falling out that they should alert customers to this issue. I read somewhere in Waterpik's literature that non-alcoholic mouthwash should work, but in my opinion, it works so poorly when the Pik Pocket tip is used due to the required cleaning procedure to prevent the tip from falling out that they should alert customers to this issue. I suggested a latch in addition to the current locking mechanism to assure the tip won't come out. Also, maybe Waterpik should consider making their own brand of non-alcoholic mouthwash without a foaming agent that will work with the Pik Pocket tip.The requirement to line the battery cover gasket with petroleum jelly whenever the batteries are changed is annoying. Twice the cover couldn't be opened by hand even after I turned it to the right position. Maybe I needed to use more petroleum jelly those two times. The clearest design flaw may be that the water reservoir soon became impossible to put back on. Sometimes I remove it for a good cleaning and it has to be removed to change batteries. Pressing it hard and even hitting the bottom wouldn't work at one point. Then I discovered that a plastic piece that's part of the white housing, that has to engage with the clear water reservoir, was positioned too far forward and the water reservoir couldn't be pushed in far enough to engage. I had to file down the front of that plastic piece and now it's perfect.

Useful but wish for a few improvements
26 February 2024

Useful but once you turn it on with the water streaming in your mouth it's hard to turn off so I really wish it had a momentary push button instead of the slide switch. That would make a big difference. The tank is small. A few more ounces would be better. The pump pressure is just perfect and the nozzle is perfect, however I wish I could bend it to a slightly more oblique angle. Love the fact that it uses common-sized batteries.
