I bought this drive to turn a satellite receiver into a PVR. Unfortunately it didn’t work I have since put it on my desktop computer and our recording movies to it. It’s flawless.

I wanted an SSD to replace an external 5400 rpm drive that died. I found this Western Digital 1TB that works very well with my 13 2018 MacBook Pro running Monterey (some important to me installed programs don't support Ventura). B&H also pointed me to the Pearstone USB 3.2 to USB type A adapter that works well instead of the $19 version from Apple.

From my desktop's SSD to this portable SSD drive (usb3 port), I achieved 221MB/s file copy speed -- a 4.5 gig file copy took about 20s. This drive may not be an overall speed champ, but it is easily the fastest usb drive I have ever owned and used. No-fuss setup is involved, and it certainly won't disappoint.--legacydude

Great price and performance for a 2TB SSD portable drive. It weighs next to nothing making the portability factor excellent. I own two of these for now. I see more with larger capacity in my future.
I have been conveniently able to transport this little guy in my backpack that is loaded up with my laptop and books. The amount of data this holds is perfect for my school work and then some.
I am happy wit these things. Fast and small. Almost too small. I do feel like I could break them somehow with how small and light weight they are.

This WD 1tb SSD will become a third backup while traveling. The first 2 have been flawless. There are faster portable SSD's available but they seem to have heat and diconnection issues, These WD drives are fast enough, don't get hot, don't disconnect, they just work.
I bought this WD Elementsâ„¢ SE SSD external drive to back up my laptop data. The external drive got hot pretty quick after around 1 hour of copying data from laptop and it caused my laptop frozen. I was under assumption such situation only happens to game players after long hours of extensive reading/writing data.
This is my first ever external hard drive. It functions fast and properly on my iMAC and MacBook. It's really small compared to what I've seen in the past which makes me nervous about losing it. Otherwise, I don't think you can beat the price.
