Weihenstephaner is a great German brewery. If you are a fan of hefeweissens you will likely enjoy this beer. I find it to have a good amount of flavor, but it is still quite light and refreshing. It's an excellent accompaniment to heavier foods like sausages.

My favorite brand of ale! I’m hooked. A bartender introduced me to this because they were out of Stella. This ale exceeded my expectations. With a lime or olives, it’s smooth and sexy! It didn’t taste like the traditional beer. When I say smooth, I mean smoooooooth! 👍🏽

Normally I would get into some extreme depth of profundity in which I delve into the layers of complexity of this divine brew, but for the sake of getting to the point, I will keep it short and concise: This beer is amazing! Tastes very inviting and beckons you to come back for more, tastes very wheaty with touches of banana. Pours a very thick foam head that goes great when consumed along with some of the beer itself. Moderate yeast sediment at the bottom which I strongly recommend agitating the bottle with some beer still left in it to dislodge it and then pour it into the rest of the beer in Weizen glass to heighten the tastes and add an extra clouded appeal to the final product. All in all, I'd strongly recommend this beer to everyone.
When I traveled to Europe a few years ago I was introduced to the hefeweissbier variety via Erdinger and Paulaner, but upon experiences with those as well as Franziskaner, I finally came across Weihenstephan, and from that moment forwards, I became a believer in the World's Oldest Brewery. I love their hefe weissbier the most but their Vitus also tickles my fancy. I highly recommend this beer to anyone who wants to taste history. I also must urge any new drinkers to please make sure to properly agitate the bottle so you may fully enjoy the yeast at the bottom and how it makes the beer that much more perfect.
I have the Dunkel and it is absolutely delicious. Very authentic although at 5.3% it doesn't have the same punch as the same brand I drank when I lived in Bavaria. Close enough to bring back memories though.
I purchased this about a week ago just to give it a go for variety's sake. I must admit, I was surprised at what I tasted. It was a solid beer, of course, but it had some rather nice flavors I didn't pick up in ordinary lagers, like a pleasant green apple tinge towards the back end of my gulps. It's got a richness to it, but to my surprise, it didn't taste as heavy as the word "dark" or "dunkel" would imply. A great choice if you want an easy, but flavorful brew.
I was just recently introduced to the Weisenstephaner brewery a couple weeks ago. This hefeweiss dunkel is my favorite beer of all time and all of the beers I have tasted are fantastic. No after taste and no hangover! No Kidding!
Have been buying this glorious Hefe Weiss ever since I lived in Freising in 1983 and visited the Weihenstephan Brauerei on many occasions and now I always keep a few in the fridge. The flavour is sublime - I describe it as icecream beer but it is much more than that. Das tut mir gut!
The oldest brewery in the world sure knows what they are doing!I believe their version of a Dunkelweizen is the best example of the style in the world!Same for their hefeweizen as well.Their other beer styles are arguably the best in their representative categories as well.Their Lager , pilsner , Doppelbock & Marzen style beers are all outstanding !!
