Good for cooking Chinese or Japanese food. I love to use it for soup base, it adds great flavor to the soup. Then I can use it as a base for other food

Nice wide piece of kombu. Good for seasoning rice. Haven't tried making dashi yet.
I bought this for a certain recipe. I had never used it before. I looked at much higher priced Kombu in stores, but decided to try to online order. What a savings in price! Will buy again!
Used as part of vegetable broth. Though the recipe suggested just keeping the broth, I used all strained out vegetables (including kombu and Shiitake mushrooms) with some broth as the first soup.
