Weleda Toothpaste Calendula 75 ml

I bought this product because I was getting a new cavity about every six months. Something needed to change with my dental care routine. I'd researched and discovered good things about calendula and decided to order this toothpaste. It IS different from regular toothpaste because it doesn't lather at all. It has an unusual fennel-y herby taste but it's not unpleasant. So, today was the test. I had a dental cleaning and exam and thank goodness, I have no cavities! But, I do have early stage gingivitis, or slightly swollen gums. According to my dentist, my gum issues are due to flossing, not this toothpaste. I will keep buying it.

Clean and fresh

This could be a little unusual at first, because it is not foamy and I felt like I needed more toothpaste than I thought. After awhile, I realised the usual amount is enough; and I actually do like a more gentle peppermint-free formula that leaves my gums and mouth feeling fresh and clean.

Excellent!

If you like aniseed, this is the best-tasting toothpaste out there! Cleans well and leaves your mouth feeling fresh. Great ingredients. My husband has been using this as his sole toothpaste for over a decade and has not developed any cavities in that time.

Good

A good toothpaste with calendula and no fluoride. Cleans well, freshens breath well, has a herbal taste. The packaging is not very large, the price is average. Would I recommend buying it? I think yes rather than no.

Leaving fresh breath, do the job well.

I am new to this organic toothpaste world, so am still getting used to this runny fluid type (and have a little fear that it won't do the job thoroughly as the other toothpastes that have chemicals). But this one does cleaning job well, leaving fresh and long-lasting breath. Very happy with the purchase.

Literally the best toothpaste I’ve ever used.

I started using this Weleda Calendula toothpaste at the beginning of this year. I’d been using Auromere’s foam free cardamom toothpaste for years but I was still just underwhelmed and my teeth were not any whiter nor did they feel clean unless I used a lot of it. I can’t use any toothpaste with SLS or I get horrible canker sores. I stumbled across Weleda’s toothpaste with calendula and fennel oil and bought it on a whim to try and immediately fell in love with it. It tastes amazing! My teeth feel soooo clean and after using it for almost 6 months, I can attest that my teeth are much whiter and more shiny, and just generally feel healthier. And I buy 4 or 5 at a time from Vitacost which is nice to consistently get a discount. I also use the Weleda sea salt toothpaste which is great as well but very minty strong by itself, so I often put a tiny bit of it on my toothbrush with the calendula for bonus effects.

Not for sensitive people

Almot all Weleda productsa are great ! But this toothpaste was an exception. At first the taste in the mouth is not very charming, but we worst thing I had an allergy and swelling in my throat every time I brus my teeth with this. Even I have eczema I do not have any issues with all other weleda cream, toothpastes or medicines. Maybe Weleda should improve formula and test this on more allergic people.

Toothpaste with natural ingredients, suitable for homeopathics

I had to switch to toothpaste with natural ingredients because my mouth/lips/gums were reacting to normal toothpastes. I found the Weleda range to be an excellent alternative. The Calendula is peppermint-free, but the aniseed flavour from the fennel formula means it's almost as refreshing. For me, there are two downsides, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It doesn't clean my teeth as thoroughly as 'normal' toothpastes (but this might be because I am prone to excessive build-up of plaque) and I don't like the aluminium tube (used because it's recyclable?). Otherwise, I would recommend these toothpastes and will continue to use them.
