Wellness Core is undeniably a quality dog food brand. I prefer to only buy brands offering fish with no chicken meal or chicken fat added. The latter are simply added protein boosters in what is supposed to be exclusively a premium FISH related dog food formula. The goal is to stay as close to if not higher than a 34% protein content without adding any unnecessary additional protein fillers such as Pea or Potato protein. Whatever you do try to avoid dog foods that add brewers yeast and any unnecessary starches whenever possible. We love wellness! We've been using the wellness core line since my dog was a puppy. I love that it has great vitamins and good ingredients. I also like the variety of flavors offered because my dog seems to get sick of the same thing after a while so sometimes I switch it up for him, but it's good to know he's still getting the same great quality of food just in a new flavor. My dog has a great coat and he's super lean and fast - I would credit alot of this to his great food!

Our first Boston Terrier would eventually turn his nose up after a few months of eating his food. He would also randomly vomit. After trying several different brands, we have finally found food that he still LOVES and never gets sick from. In November, we rescued another Boston Terrier. When we first brought her home, she was full of dandruff and looked like she might have had a mild case of mange near her tail. After feeding her CORE for 7 months, she is softer than ever and super-shiny. She looks like a new dog! We noticed the improvement of her coat much earlier than 7 months, maybe around the 3rd or 4th month. Look for yourself.

As the guardian of 4 beautiful Dingoes, I need a high quality kibble to supliment their raw diet. Dingoes have an ancient metabolism and have difficulty digesting starchy and foods high in carbs. CORE, is low in carbs and rich in real meat protein. This is about as close to an ancestral Dingo diet they can get without actually going out and hunting it themselves. They love the taste and get so excited at meal time. And that also makes me very happy. 🐕🐕🐕🐕

My dog has been eating Wellness Core Ocean food for a year and a half now and I’d never choose a different brand. It keeps my dog fuller for longer and she loves the appetizing (subtle) stinky fish smell. Always gobbles her food up quickly at every meal, and I don’t have to feed her as much since one scoop of this is the same nutrient content as three scoops of a regular brand you’d find in a grocery store! There’s no fillers and I feel good about feeding her real fish, no grain, and no byproducts like fins and guts that is found in other brands. I've fed Wellness Core original for many years. My Lolly started having issues with dry skin and I switched to the ocean formula. Within a week I noticed a difference. She's improved ever since. My other dogs are also noticeably softer and shinier... Two of my dogs are hairless, and I don't have to lotion them as often. Minimal waste outside and what waste that's produced is firm. The dogs love the taste too....every meal is the best meal it seems to them! The only thing I could complain about is the general fishy smell of the kibble itself, but I store my food in a container so it's only a minor annoyance at feeding times. I'll continue to put up with the stink as long as my dogs continue to do so well!

I bought this food recently to give our Shih Tzu/Bichon mix some variety on food & it didn't go over well at all. He currently eats the Core small breed turkey & loves it so, it was a no brainer to pick another Core recipe for variety. The kibble is significantly bigger than the small breed kibble & even though the label says this food is for small dogs too, our 12 pounder had a hard time chewing it up & breaking it down. He tried chewing a few pieces but left every one of them behind. I tried to soften up the food as I had in the past with some warm water & he just completely turned his nose up at this food & wanted nothing to do with it. Ocean Fish

My dogs love this. Fed in combination with CORE reduced fat to get benefits of weight loss and omega nutrients. Doesn’t trigger allergy scratching in my sensitive boy and is low fat, clean omega rich for my Cushings girl. Smells like real actual ingredients and I’m happy there is no cr@p or artificial ingredients being consumed by my fur kids. Petso are great, fast delivery, followed with a phone call checking my order…. However when I questioned higher shipping rates due to my area and thought the company might like to know as we have full postal and may put people off purchasing, the responding email was snappy and dismissive which I don’t appreciate at all and may not use Petso again, due to this.

Might not be a pleasant topic, but the average size of your dog's feces is a great indicator of how well his food digests and how much is just filler. Over my dog's first year we'd tried a half-dozen brands (and different varieties in those brands) trying to find the right food. The breeder recommended a freeze dried raw combo which you rehydrate with water. Mack's dumps were gigantic and looked exactly - EXACTLY - like what he'd eaten. And the vet said he was underweight - so it was off to try a dry kibble. With the dizzying range of Grain-Free, Limited Ingredient, Raw-Infused or "Wild" kibbles out there it's kinda hard to figure out what's optimal for a dog. Until we got to Wellness Core, our boy was still leaving impressive piles in the back yard. Part of that may be that many brands have really small morsel size. Mack was just swallowing more than he was chewing. That can effect how much can be digested in the first place. Wellness has bigger chunks which has him crunching away longer. We ended up with Ocean Recipe by chance - but it's yielded the smallest stools of all. The dog loves it and his weight and energy are on the money. Great stuff - we're gonna stick with it.
