I have to say, this is my cats hands down favorite food. The boneless shredded chicken and beef in particular. I often will buy a can of something new here or there to give them variety as they tend to get bored of the same flavor/brand if i give it to them enough times, so I try to keep things interesting for them, I bought a can of this to test it out and see if they would eat it and I was SO surprised to see completely empty bowls that were LICKED clean. Never thought I would be reviewing canned cat food online, but it's 2020 so why not? I have personally not tasted this food, so from a taste aspect I can't really provide any feedback. The texture and shape of it is sort of like Play-Doh after you pushed it through that fake meat grinder thing we had as kids. There's no real smell to it so I guess that's good? There's a decent amount of gravy in the can and we usually mash up the shredded pieces into smaller more palatable pieces for our cats of which we have 5. Yeah, I know, that's a lot of cats. (Photo below)This morning one of my males puked up his breakfast (he did this last week with different food, so my initial thought was that he ate too fast both times)Just a few minutes ago I grabbed some of his Signature Selects Shredded Boneless Chicken and Liver Recipe (LOT#: NX2153 B VCN46), to give him a snack since he puked it up this morning and all he kept down was some kibble (Taste of the Wild, not Wellness) but when I opened the container it had black dots on the shreds of "meat". This has not been present in the other cans, but I grabbed another and opened it just to see, and it had the same, not as many specks though. It looks like mold but no fuzzy bits. Im extremely unhappy and worried about my kitty. (Photo below)
Trying different foods now that my kitten is a "teenager" and can have different things. Bought this because I thought it'd be high quality and she only likes flaked seafood. This is no different than the Petco store brand, which is also brown, mushy, and something my cat won't eat. I believe it's called whole hearted or something. Anyways, there was one tiny shrimp in the can and so much "gravy" that the flaked tuna looks like brown mush. It's so off putting, as a consumer. My cat is pretty picky, but not like this. Not buying this again.
I thought this product was amazing at first. My picky cat loved the food. Then one day I noticed something sharp sticking out of her bowl. I found two bone fragments, one that was about a centimeter big and another the was the length of a fingernail with a sharp point at the end. I was shocked to see that others had mentioned bones in reviews as well. The larger bone was a clear major choking hazardāāI'm so glad I caught it. It's such a shame.
My cat absolutely loves this food! The little shrimps are his favorite part. I wish I could get him to love your dry food too, but Iām sure if you were to come out with a turkey and shrimp dry food (his favorite meats), he would gobble that up in a heartbeat! š You should hear him screaming in the morning while he very impatiently waits for me to prepare his food for him. He even bounces a little bit as he watches it come out of the can. Iād post a video, but heās camera shy. Heās 14lb and I feed him one 5.3oz can a day, but Iām having trouble figuring out how much dry food to give him as well.

We hadn't given that to our cats in years.I gave them each a taste, and finding they loved it, went to Petsmart nearby and bought a case, not noticing the label difference in the dark blue strip and the name Shredded Chicken & Chicken Liver.Today there were two Petco cans left. I gave those to two of the cats and gave the new cans to the other two cats. The old recipe was eaten immediately with requests for more. The new recipe was smelled and walked away from, and they rushed to see if there was any left on the old recipe plates.In washing the cans I saw that the old recipe was 2 months out of date, so it's unlikely I'll find more. Thought maybe because it sat on my porch for about 7 hours in the freezing cold. Didnt feed to the cat til the next morning though. Anyway , after I noticed how dark it was Intjree it out and opened another can, which wasnt as dark or as thick. Fed it to both cats mixed with regular food on 2-15-21. About an hour later I found about 6-7 places where my cat threw up the food. I opened another can today on 2-18-21 and it was also discolored inside so I thre that out to. I have tried so many wellness brands over the years. My cat is very picky when it comes to wet food. She started with the pate, complete health and eventually grew tired of that. Then we moved on to the signature select brand of wellness and she ate the flaked version, but again grew tired of it. I found the chunky chicken and salmon and never looked back. She consistently eats this flavor ever day. I don't know why it's so hard to find, but please keep supplying this. It is never in Petco and only in PetSmart. Even then it can be hard to find. I beg of you, continue to make this flavor.
