I have six cats who love the stuff. It's very brothy with shreds of white meat chicken, with no complicated ingredients. It's purrfect for upset tummies, a treat or topper to dry kibble. Some of my cats like their dry food with water so adding this is a bonus. My only complaint is the packaging that is why I gave it four stars. Because it's so much liquid you can't tear the bag open you have to use scissors very carefully because it does spew out. I've also quickly learned to do it on the counter so that it doesn't get messy. I'm not a fan of pouches filled with liquid but I got this food for my cats because it's healthy and it's a good price. In the summer of 2019 my male cat was diagnosed with crystals in his urine. The vet recommended increasing his water intake and a change in diet.We purchased a water fountain: He hates it, She LOVES it.The Vet recommended a urinary specific cat food. She hated it; only eats Wellness CORE Kitten Food. He tried but would not eat it.We reduced the amount of dry food fed daily and added water to the Wellness CORE Kitten Food.Added a second breakfast of a high water content food.For dinner we added an appetizer of CORE Simply Shreds in a separate dish.He now has normal output in the box.

I tried giving the dogs and cat the bowl boosters shredded chicken as a kibble topper. No one would eat it. I gave some of the cat shredded chicken to my neighbor. Their cat wouldn't eat it either. When I tried to pick it out of my pets’ bowl - it felt like shredded plastic. Sorry wellness, I use a lot of your products - but this is a no go for me.

My Rico had a bladder blockage about 3 years ago. It was heartbreaking and expensive. He started to show signs of crystals again and wouldn't eat or drink. I took him to the vet and there wasn't anything she could do because his bladder was empty. Except a few crystals. He needed liquid and lots of it. This food literally saved his life. It only had 3 ingredients and was easy on his stomach. And did not contain a heavy gravy. The food is just a snack but when your cat is not eating or drinking anything you do whatever it takes! All the broth in this food really helped him and after 3 days he stopped crying when going to the litter box.
My cat loves this, but it’s a mess to open and serve. It doesn’t tear at the top cleanly and it’s so full of liquid that it immediately squirts out. It gets all over my hands and I stink afterwards. When I pour it into the bowl, most of the chicken stays in the container, so I have to add more water or use a spoon to get it out. I won’t be buying this again.
I love this product as cats are true carnivores and require meat and moisture in their diet. Our 12 year-old, 15 lb sleek and strong male tabby gets a 90% wet food diet, as this diet regimen has kept him healthy with lower vet bills. Yes, this item is mostly broth (so pricey), but I will continue to buy it as he likes it and it's a good complementary food to his regular wet food diet (he likes pates more than shredded foods). I cut the packet open with scissors and use scissors to snip the chicken into bite sized pieces. There are other packets out there that contain more meat and thicker gravy, so ask a Chewy rep for recommendations as they're always willing to help!
These are great quality, smell and look good! My cat loves them and they make a perfect topper for her dry food. Best price for ingredients I could find for this type of product.Only reason I deducted a star was for how hard these pouches are to tear open. They're frustrating to open without scissors as they don't tear easily and I end up splashing the juice everywhere.
My maine coon has major food allergies and cannot have any turkey or beef but loves her chickens! Unfortunately, most chicken wet foods have turkey or poultry byproduct or meat byproducts in them and you never know what is actually in there. I am just so happy to have actually found something that I can trust to give her without worrying.She is a former fancy feast ADDICT(which I never wanted for her) and extremely picky, but will eat a few varieties of wellness core tiny tasters. She typically gets one pouch a day as an in between meal snack or occasionally 2 pouches for breakfast. Thank goodness for this food!!!If your kitty likes the purina broths or appetizers, they may like these pouches as well.
We tried these when our normal brand got discontinued. Yes they are a little bit of a pain as the broth always spills a little, but they are perfect little pouches when the cats are feeling a little more peckish than usual!
Hydration is SUPER important in our household since one of my older cats suffers from frequent urinary tract inflammations. If I ever feed them dry food, I’ve been adding water or food toppers for additional moisture. These toppers work great! There’s only 3 ingredients: chicken, chicken broth, and water...so plenty of moisture! It is pretty messy when opening the pouch. The juice spills everywhere when trying to rip off the top. I would recommend using scissors to open. Other than that, we really enjoyed them.
