It’s great material and fun for my dog when I put nut butter in it, but I was hoping the holes would be much smaller than they are. My dog is very smart and has food allergies so finding treat dispensing toys that make it tough to get to snacks is ideal. This one the hole is too big to have it be a challenge. We bought the small. Please make another version with smaller holes.

Let me start off by saying my partner and I LOVE West Paw! Great company with a great mission and amazing sustainability practices. We love the Toppl and wanted to love the Rumbl, but unfortunately on the very first use(we purchased size small), it got stuck on the bottom jaw of our 16 pound King Charles Cavalier. If you have a small to medium size dog with a small, narrow jaw, then I would not recommend this toy. The tabs in the top of the mouth got stuck to his little teeth and hurt him a bit to get off. We will unfortunately be returning this one and opting for another puzzle toy for feeding. Luckily, West Paw has a great guarantee policy so we will continue to be customers for life! We would love to see a smaller version of the Rumbl for toy sized dogs!

Got this toy on a whim from the store and my guy (40lb all-around-mutt) loves it! I filled it with dry treats that are a good size that wouldn't fall right out and he had the BEST time trying to work it out. He shook, tossed, chewed, and flung this toy all around the living room and it kept him busy for at least 20 minutes. Not the longest compared to others I'm sure, but a world record in this house! My dog loves puzzle toys and loves to work for it, so your dog will have to be like that as well. I can see my parent's dog not enjoying this since there would be no immediate rewards and I think my sister's dog (a BIG chewer) might not get as much fun out of it since she might rip it to bits. I did notice him get his lower jaw stuck in the top for a split second, but the toy is easy to bend so he was able to pop it right out on his own (it's always good to supervise your dog's playtime!) If you have a dog that enjoys the struggle of a puzzle toy, I would definitely check this one out!

My Irish Terrier isn’t into balls & fetch much, but he LOVES this one. He sleeps with it. The softer texture allows him to grab & carry it & chew on it. And it seems indestructible. It also bounces & rolls in fun, unpredictable ways. Need a larger treat inside because of the large holes, but we figured that out. This really exceeded my expectations.
We followed the sizing guide and got the small which was the correct choice. It's a good size (and I love the purple!), And our puppy loves food dispensing balls. The problem we're having with this toy is that nothing stays in it at all. If we use her kibble, she bumps it once and everything comes out either the side hole or the top opening. We thought, ok her kibble is pretty small, we'll try freeze dried treats. The beef liver stays about a second longer. Instead of an investigatory bump she has to pick it up and drop it once and the freeze dried liver comes out, so it lasts about a second and she gets a massive treat out of it. The material has held up well to her teeth and the oblong shape is an interesting concept, but we got this as a dry food/treat dispensing ... I heard this brand was excellent for tougher chewers. Our pitty mix loved this toy and loves to chew! Have been looking for new types of chew bones since the antlers and such are too hard for her teeth. This toys lasted for a few days but was no match for her… chewed off the tabs near the opening. Glad this company can recycle the materials. We will have to try some of the other designs.
My Golden loves this toy. I use it primarily as a slow feeder/puzzle ball, as I haven’t found one that is this QUIET on our hard wood floors! That is the biggest PLUS for us HUMANS! ;) My biggest complaint is that I bought the small, having read that I could fit a full 1 cup serving in it, which would work for my boy who usually gets two single cup servings a day, depending on activity level and the amount of treats he has received. BUT I heave never been able to fit a full cup into the small Rumbl. Ever. It doesn’t affect his enjoyment of the toy. It is simply a frustration on my part, that I have to measure out the food, spend time cramming as much as I can into the ball, and then decide whether to feed the leftover food in a bowl, another slow feeder, wait until ... Rumbl in the jungle, baby!! This toy is deceptively durable! Watching treats roll out of it is a hoot, but most importantly for me is that it protects mouth health with its pliability and holds up even to the famously relentless Malinois maw! It's great for my youngster and a senior prot Mal whose teeth and grip aren't what they used to be! Turned an old boy who couldn't quite hang on to his tougher toys back into a proud pup who grips Rumbl like he's in his prime! I recommend Rumbl all day long for fetch, for treat fun, for young and old! Thanks, West Paw!! RUMBL FTW!!
This is our second Rumbl purchase as our dogs loved the first and it seemed right to have another! Definitely need the larger size for our medium-large dogs. I put larger treats in here to make it more of a challenge as it gets batted around. Seems preferred by our lighter chewer, keeps her entertained for quite awhile with chasing, chewing and tossing. Not mentally challenging enough for our Doberman, though the flexibility of the material does hold up well when he uses it for a jaw-chomping workout! All around fun toy for dogs.
Like many West Paw toys, the Rumbl is a great toy for my bigger dog (40’ish lbs) and just an ok for my little dog (12lbs). My big dog has allergies so we’re limited to using dehydrated sweet potato pieces. For her, I can use pieces of various sizes and it keeps her busy and entertained for a long time because she can knock it around, pick it up & bite down on the whole thing to work on getting the big pieces out. My little dog can’t do all that. All he can do is roll it around & knock small pieces out. His mouth isn’t big enough to bite down on the whole toy. He can only roll it around to get small treats out. It only keeps him busy for a short while. So, bottom line, definitely recommended for medium and larger dogs and just meh for the little ones.
