I bought this to replace my 500GB SSD. I see a noticeable improvement in speed when I use this drive versus my previous one. My computer boots up faster, and some of the programs and games I have saved to it load faster as well. Installation was a snap too. All in all, I'm very satisfied with it.

Installation was simple. Plugged it into slot, turned computer on. Computer immediately recognized it, no hassle. Works super great, can't believe how fast it is compared too my old 7200 drive. Best thing I ever did too the computer.

Pros: Stellar performance with Thunderbolt 3 enclosure on mac. 2600/2000 mb/s read and write.Slows down on a very long transfer but as a working drive where you open one file or a few at a time it’s perfect. And. Cheap

I am not a working professional and I am not too concerned with owning a drive with the fastest rated speeds nor require PCIe 4.0; This drive is significantly quicker to download and install games than my 2TB Firecuda Hybrid drive I have in another system. Coming from an HDD or SSHD, this is a huge step up for game loading and install times; The price of this drive is close to other SATA SSDs at 2TB capacities; I like it because there is no cable management required and I don't need to re-route power supply cables to get a SATA power connection nor a SATA data cable hooked up. With a few game installs requiring 100+ GB of storage, I feel comfortable having 2TB; After installing the drive onto the motherboard, I did have to initialize the drive (GPT not MBR) inside ... MoreI am not a working professional and I am not too concerned with owning a drive with the fastest rated speeds nor require PCIe 4.0; This drive is significantly quicker to download and install games than my 2TB Firecuda Hybrid drive I have in another system. I have several NVMe SSDs, so I'm no longer surprised by the increase in speed over regular drives. However, this is the largest SSD that I have purchased and I am very pleased to have so much storage available at a reasonable price at this speed. Works very well for my needs.
Installing the SDD was a bit of a pain, since my MB is populated with all kinds of crud. But once it was in, Windows INSTANTLY detected it. However, my old HDD disappeared from my devices! I panicked, thinking I deleted everything, even though I didn't click on anything to do so. Finally, a very smart man on Tom's Hardware forum said that sometimes your Motherboard will shut off certain SATA ports when an SDD is installed, and the fix is to move your old HD SATA connection into a different port. It's a super easy fix, just make sure you have a diagram of your MB and where your SATA ports are. I changed my HDD from port 5 to port 3 and it got recognized! Once installed, I have been getting transfer speeds of up to 1.5gigs/sec, game loading times are way faster, ... MoreInstalling the SDD was a bit of a pain, since my MB is populated with all kinds of crud. If you want a good, solid SDD that is manufactured by a respected company, I suggest this. Sure, some no-name cards might be way cheaper, but if they fail or are broken, it's an added headache to get a refund or replacement.
This SSD won't power a starship or explode a star. It will, however, crush your archaic hard drive with the power of a Norse god's hammer. The price is pretty good. I've also got a high-end Samsung 980 Pro on my system and, in every day performance, they both feel pretty much the same.
I bought this for secondary storage on my new PC. I did not want older and slower SSD or spinning disk storage. Works great and was super easy to install and the system recognized it right way without any issues.
Great for what we use it for. Have not had either product long enough to speak for durability/longevity. So far though, would highly recommend the upgrade.
Although there are many other brands out there that are just as good and even reliable today, I still like supporting Western Digital for making the best hard-disks for so many years.
