My hard drive was failing, quickly. I ordered this and within two days it was at my house, performed a clean install of windows 10, installed all my programs and had no issues, perfect for an ssd when doing light work. I would recommend!

I'd say if you're looking for a quick and easy SSD solution this is it. I used it to replace the hard disk drive on my Xbox One as the warranty is up, and I figured might as well swap it out before the HDD dies. Since that's been done, the menu's are snappier, and games on it do load up quickly. Performance of the games stay the same, but it's been a great experience.

This "green" budget model is designed for low power use, usually used in laptops to replace mechanical drives. The read speed is still very respectable, so it's usable for other things too. The 2 drives I bought are about the speed I expected. Connecting 2 in RAID mode yielded 1.1 GB/s read speed and >900 MB/s write speed. This is plenty for almost every purpose. I'm using them as a 2 TB game drive and loading times are significantly reduced. I've always trusted western digital drives for reliability and consistency. I've got a 2012 model Blue mechanical drive that's finally showing early signs of failure (out of backup sectors) after years of daily use and abuse. I recommend the brand to everyone except extreme performance enthusiasts with no budget.
Absolutely a 10 for awesome yes I recommend its use in Macs and other laptops and it works on all computers. My experience spans 40+ years in the IT hardware industry.
Purchasing this drive has been a very disappointing experience. I don't know what the performance issues are in the replacement drive. I don't care. All I know is that even light duty read/writes are causing issues. It's an SSD drive and sustained transfer speeds with the pausing when averaged are worse than my hard drives. So what's the point? Do yourself a favor. When you look at the price just don't do it.
The product itself works, but you have to figure out how to make it work with lots of googling and work arounds. YouTube and other people figuring out the work arounds are what actually got this product to function for me. I would go with a different company to purchase this product next time so that I could skip the 20+ hours of trying to make it work like the directions say it should.
In under a month it’s gone out. I was just updating 500mg ssd that I have been using for 8 years too this. I may have just got a bad one but that not a good win there are no moving parts and it’s mounted in a case that is not moving. And it go’s out in under a month. Yes I am using a 80gold power supply, and none of my other ssd have had any problems.
A budget SSD that performs well enough for light to moderate use. I suspect it will have typical SanDisk and Western Digital reliability so select your Western Digital SSD depending on your expected use. Moderate users need Blue SSD and gamers should go to Black SSD.
I needed to upgrade my Dell XPS 8700 with a Solid State Drive to boost the speed. I cloned the six year old 1TB Seagate spinning drive to this Western Digital device. The reason for picking WD is it's reputation for reliability. It's been "running" only for a week now, I have confidence that it will give me a long service. I recommend it.However, Walmart charged $47 more that Amazon sells it for (about $100) so I wouldn't buy it from Walmart again.
