Wharfedale Diamond 12.0 Bookshelf Speakers - Black

I have been using these speakers for a while now and they sound great. They are very affordable and sound like they are worth way more than they cost. The tweeters are very high quality and clear, and the woofers are strong enough to handle all kinds of music. The build quality is nice, and the cabinets are solid. I have never had a problem with them and I use them almost daily. If you are looking for a great set of speakers for a decent price, you should definitely try these.

I bought a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 12.2 bookshelf speakers and they were the best decision I've ever made. They are now the centerpiece of my home entertainment system. I can't believe how much more detail I can hear in my favorite songs and movies now. I didn't even realize how much I was missing out on until I had a pair of these in my living room. I am completely blown away with the quality of this product. I will definitely be buying more products from Wharfedale in the future and I absolutely recommend them.

I'm a huge fan of the Wharfedale diamond speaker line and have been since I bought my first pair of diamond 9.2's and diamond 10.2's a long time ago. The 12.1's are the best ones yet. They are a little more expensive than some of the other brands but the clarity, depth, and richness of sound they produce is well worth the price. They sound great and they look great. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to add incredible sound to their home theater.

I bought the Wharfedales 12.2s and have hooked them up with the Denon PMA 600 ne.The first thing that would strike you about the Wharfedales is their Cabinet Construction.They are built solid and are heavy. They also come with a Magnetic grill. Now Anil had told me that the improvement over the 11.2s was the bass...and it does kick in. Like even if you dont crank the bass on the amp they still have an adequate amount on offer. You may actually not require a sub-woofer. The separation is decent and the sound is on the warmer side.Though the break in period is around 50 hours,on first impressions they definitely look like an impressive piece of equipment. Fabulous speakers

I bought these based on What HiFi’s recent review. I subscribe so get it early. I had planned on buying Fyne Audio F301’s but based on the review I went for these. A gamble on that review. Wow! I have Mission M74’s, good speakers in their day, but these were better even straight out of the box. The build quality is excellent. The black ones I got don’t show that they have gloss black fascias. They look amazing. They are fed by a Rotel RA02 amp, SONOS with DAC, Rotel CD, Project Carbon t/t, QED biwire cables, Van den hul cables, and the sound improvements already are magic, base is deeper but tight, vocals clean, they are so much better at lower levels too, playing Eva Cassidy, Bowie, Sam Smith on vinyl was magic, I sat there grinning and they are not run in yet. The Missions gave bass but at higher volumes, these have it low too. As I write this review George Michael is on via SONOS in the background but we can now feel the bass without the boom and low sound detail is there. I haven’t tried CD’s yet, can’t wait. These were an impulse buy based on a review just like my last purchase some 15 years ago and it was a good choice they are excellent, money well spent, give them a try or buy like I did, you will love them!

Outstanding speakers and service

I have purchased quite a few items recently from Nat and really appreciate the support and recommendations. I was upgrading from 8inch floor standers to these bookshelves and concerned the sound would diminish. I shouldn’t have been, the clarity and bass is awesome and look much better then my old large black boxes I replaced. Highly recommended!

Sound is great for their size; good for music listening

I was searching for a good set of speakers to use in my zone 2 for music listening. My zone 2 is my kitchen/dining room area (lots of hard surfaces). They sit on the cabinets above my refrigerator, 1-3/8" from the back wall and 2-3/4" clearance from the ceiling. I had to remove the grills so they'd fit better, plus, they look great without the grills (my wife prefers this look too). I have banana jacks installed in the wall between the speakers; the wire runs in the walls back to my AVR which sits in the living room. I previously was using a pair of JBL Northridge N24AWII (indoor/outdoor) speakers. They have very similar specs to the Wharfedale 12.0s, with one major different, the cabinets. I'm quite happy with these as standalone 2-channel setup without a sub. I also notice more detail with these speakers. My wife and I have listened to a variety of music on them already (except country), and have been quite pleased. They are very lively. I have to assume they have little burn-in time on them; I bought them as a open box item. I look forward to getting some more burn-in time to see if the sound changes. I think these are a great deal for the price. I'd hard pressed to spend more money.

The Amazing 12.2s

I recently decided to upgrade the speakers on my 2nd system which has a trusty old Quad 33/303 at its heart. After listening to several option i settled on The Wharfedale 12.2s, I have placed them on sand filled stands and quiet frankly they have exceeded my expectations, They are extremely detailed and i am hearing elements of music previously lost to my ears. For such a small speaker the Bass and Mid ranges are tight and well projected without overpowering the Treble responses and overall the 12.2s project a well balanced sound which has clarity across all genres of music. Unbelievable scale and detail for this price

I Upgraded to Diamond 12 from Diamond 9, which were almost too good to be true for the money. So I expected big things from the 12s and they did not let me down. Was tied between these and the QAcoustics 3020 but upon listening, I'm glad I stayed loyal, The 12s lit up my room within moments of playing. This the most Ive ever spent on speakers but i don't regret it one single bit. (Compared to some, they are cheap but 250 quid is still a lot of money to me!) Took me a while to justify to the wife but even she says that the difference is astonishing. The scale is massive, even in my modest living room. Like jumping from a 19" screen to 50" is how I've described it to friends. Such a wide presence even placed just 3.5m apart. The hi-hats and reverb details are too real to deny. Thats really what compelled me to write this review. Build wise, like the diamond 9s, they are strikingly solid and beautify finished. The wood is smooth and so clean. I don't like grilles on, so no holes in the front really make a difference and makes them look up to date. The wife approves of the shiny styling too.
