Whimzees Alligator Dental Dog Treats Small

okay so for starters. I am really bad at brushing my dogs teeth. i try to just at least scrub them with the toothbrush and water every couple of days. so when I got this bag of Whinzeess Alligator shaped dental chews lleletsllmmet's just say 33 tine my medium dog dog to need a toothbrush scrubbing. so I got the treats and the mail from influencer voxbox campaign and gave my dog one. well she loved the chew and it actually did remove some of the tartar on her teeth. I will honestly tell you too that even after brushing with dog toothpaste her breath still had a not so good. smell but with one of theses actually madr her breath not really have any scent at all whicch is a plus. cause doggy breathe is just nasty. she chowed down on this dental trest. so I think it's ... Moreokay so for starters. These dental treats are so cute! They are shaped like little alligators! I have an English Bulldog and Staffordshire Terrier mix who is 6 years old and around 24lbs. She was super excited to try these treats and eagerly took the orange one from my hands. However, the next day, she was entirely uninterested in them. This is not unusual for her as she is also uninterested in Greenies so we’re always on the hunt for new dental chews that don’t break the bank (cause dental cleanings at the vet are very expensive). My little girl is not a picky eater but is very particular about dental chews. I am so bummed that these didn’t turn out to be the holy grail we were hoping for. Firstly, I have to say these treats are absolutely adorable!! it was even more exciting to give the doggos treats that were fun, in the shape of an alligator, as opposed to just a stick or simple shape. I didn't have that high of expectations because this was my first voxbox and I thought for sure since I was given this item for free to test, that it wouldn't be a quality product. I guess I was wrong! These treats really seem like good stuff... my dog(s) went nuts for them, I feel good about the natural ingredients, and even the packaging was hassle-free. okay, maybe the packaging is not as important, but it helps to be able to zip a bag of treats back up easily enough when you have dogs jumping on you with excitement to give them the treat! These alligator guys didn't have a funny smell like some other fresh breath dog treats do, yet they still seemed to have a lingering freshness on my dog's breath. The only criticisms I have, which are small, are 1) sometimes they leave a tiny bit of a white residue behind if your dog slobbers while she is chewing on it, and 2) you may have to supervise your dog eating it (at least the first time) to make sure she can handle it. My little one's gums bleed a tiny bit the first time because she was so excited and went to town on it, but these things are durable! In all, I would definitely recommend these treats for other pet owners!

Angular pieces

Whimzees are my dog’s favourites, she’s a pug and we buy her the brushees, however, our local store was out of stock so we opted for a bag of the alligators. She seemed to like them just fine, however towards the end of the treat, when there was only a bit sized left, we noticed she had been choking. We were able to get the piece out, and thought it may have been a fluke. Unfortunately, it happened the next time she got an alligator too. After that, we decided to stop with the alligators all together as this never happened with the brushee shape. Dogs should of course be supervised while eating the treats, however, it seems the angles or points of the alligator posed a choking risk for our dog.

Best chews ever!

I have two large dogs, a purebred boxer and a boxer/shepherd mix. They both have sensitive tummies and always get stomach aches or become gassy after eating any treats, human foods or other dog foods. These treats are great for them and do not upset their stomachs!!! I am super happy with them and wish they lasted longer because they love them!

Clever design, leaves coloration on light carpet

Long-lasting is a relative term. My mixed breed (pitty, dobie? and ???) 8 month old rescue pup made his way through one of the alligators in about 20 minutes. Green in particular left coloration on our light colored carpet; haven't yet tried to use carpet cleaner on it, as it's under the Christmas tree, so I don't know if it is a permanent stain. Whimzees are a favorite, otherwise.

Dogs love Whimzees!

My little dachshunds are vigorous chewers and these lasted a pretty good amount of time (15-20 minutes). I buy the Medium size. My Maggie has a sensitive stomach and these seem to not bother her stomach. However, I do limit them to having only one per week to avoid potential stomach upset. The fact that they help clean teeth and are endorsed by the VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) is the primary reason I buy them and I am so glad that Petco carries them. I wish Petco would consider carrying PetSmile which is the toothpaste endorsed by the VOHC. This would be an awesome combination to contribute to good dental care in dogs.

New hamster owner here. I've only had him for 3 weeks now and he's the most pickiest eater and doesn't chew at all. Hamsters need to chew to file their teeth down since they never stop growing. I was so worried because he doesn't chew at all. I've used different chew toys, wood, put peanut butter on the toys to try to get him to chew, nothing. I watched a video where the person recommended this dog treat to get the hamster to chew. So I figured might as well try this out. OMG my hamster goes CRAZY chewing this thing. I received the item Thursday and it had 2 legs, the tail, some of its face, and most of the other two legs gone by Sunday. I thought this would last at least a month! Really clean tartar off teeth

About 2 years ago, my 5 year old Terrier mix had tartar on her teeth. Brushing didn’t remove the tartar. I found the Whimzees Alligator dental treats and was surprised that my very finicky little one likes it. Shortly after eating 1 gator dental treat per night, the tartar on her teeth started disappearing. 2 years and hundreds of gators later, her teeth look real good. There are very little tartar left on her teeth, and her gum looks healthy. She’s 7 now, and no professional dental cleaning needed. I am really happy that she likes these Whimzees Alligator treats, and her teeth look great. One thing I notice is that randomly she would throw up leaving little pieces of the chewed up dental treats on the floor. It doesn’t happen often – maybe a few times a year.
