Whisky Stones Gift Set

Got these for my dad an avid whisky drinker! He’d never heard of them and always used ice! He is now enjoying a whisky, undiluted and now appreciating a whole new range of flavours in his old favourites.

They do work but your expectations have to be set in the realms of science, they can only do so much, i put 2 stones that were at -24 C into a 40ml shot of whisky that was at 22 C, the brought the temp down to 12 C. Which was pleasent. It didnt dilute the drink if that is what you want. Ice cubes can make it colder as they are also diluting the drink. Oh and they look great

Purchased for my Father-in-law. He’s loving them. Aesthetics seemed carefully considered. Whiskey rocks are not all made equally.

A very nice-looking gift

I bought these first for our Secret Santa gift exchange at work. My colleague and friend really liked them. So did I. The natural stones look fantastic, also they are smooth to the touch, and the wooden case/display adds a lot, so in overall the set looks very decent. So, eventually, I ordered a second set for my boyfriend, and he was delighted. Good product! I highly recommend these stones.

Chill without watering down your booze

Want your bourbon cold without watering it down? For a while BIG ice cubes were all the rage. The single large ice cube reduced surface area supposedly reducing the amount of water diluting your booze... but still your booze was being diluted... Here's a better solution... Chill a few of these stones in your freezer and when it's time to enjoy your favorite cold beverage, drop a stone or two into your glass. The stones don't melt, don't taint the flavor of your drink, and are classy in appearance to boot.

Extremely pleased

Great items, keep them in the freezer until ready to use, retrieve and get cold whiskey, or other drinks, without the dilution that comes with ice. I really like the variety of colors of granite. Keeps it interesting, and can mix and match with the color of the drink. Also, an interesting conversation starter with friends. Definitely going to buy these along with other whiskey glasses for my friend’s 21st.

Nice looking gift set, but two of them in ome glass broke our crystal glass

These stones look really nice including the packaging. I bought them for my whiskey-loving hubby. However, do not expect them to chill your whiskey as ice would. They just simply keep it cool and even temperature. Also, beware that using two stones in one glass is a mistake as it cracked our crystal glass. My hubby was very upset about it as the glass was one of the set.

Not supposed to replace ice.

These are perfect... they are just the right size to *cool* 3oz of burbon to about 60 degrees F and hold it for a while.For everyone leaving negative reviews, do some research. These are not supposed to make your drink ice cold. If you chill a good bourbon or whiskey below the evaporation point, you lose out on flavor and aroma. If that's what you like, then great, but don't expect these stones to make your drink as cold as ice does. They won't, and that's not what they're for.For those that want to cool your whiskey a bit, these are great. No flavor changes detected. Only thing I would change is the tray is a bit unruly in the freezer. A cover of some sort would be a great addition.

Perfect drink NOW with no water!!!

My father received the gift set containing the 2 glasses as a gift for deployment. I ended up using the for my wine/champagne drinks myself and they are AMAZING. Granted I have to use a thicker glass for my drinks, these stones are perfect for any drink! Beer gets cold, pop a stone. Wine not cool enough??? Pop a stone. I especially loved the packaging that the stones are places in & how neatly assembled they are. Definitely a big recommendation for anyone who loves drinks and hates watery flavors.

I am a new scotch drinker; moving on from tequila, and was looking for something to cool my new drink and would not water it down. I looked all over Amazon for something to fit the bill. There were tons of vendors selling all kinds of solutions. The whiskey bullets looked like they could be swallowed and knowing my luck I would do that so I needed something a little bigger. These rocks were perfect! I ordered the rocks and two double walled glasses as recommended by Amazon. They came tightly wrapped and in perfect condition. As I unpacked everything, I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by an aroma one would expect to find in a gentleman's library filled with leather bound books, high back chairs, and walnut walls. This was from the wood casing that held the rocks in place. Now onto the good stuff. The rocks were beautiful. Their rich color was inviting, their surface smooth, and their weight was appropriate. I washed each rock, dried them off and placed them into the freezer. Later that night, I put one in a glass, poured a little goodness over them, and sat in my chair by the fire to read Moby Dick (I'm kidding!). Much to my surprise, the one rock did not cool my drink as expected. I figured if one was good more must be better. The next night, I poured the golden elixir over three rocks and that did the trick! My drink was as cool as the wind blowing over the ski slope in Vail. AND.... I didn't swallow them. Yes, they are of substantial size so no worries there. So, enjoy your drink and look really sophisticated doing it!
