This peanut butter has quite large chunks of peanuts which are nice and crunchy. I used to buy this all the time until I tried the Biona crunchy peanut butter which I prefer but that's just a personal choice.

Even though it says 'do not refrigerate' on the jar, I tried following the advice of others reviews and put ours in the fridge. It's great! Suddenly the consistency is right again! (I really want to continue buying this palm oil free one, but it was a bit too runny - now that problem is solved!). The other thing I do is add a touch of salt. Doing these 2 things, I cannot taste the difference between this one and the original, and neither can my young daughters.

I haven't bought this for some time although it was my favourite (and note reviews on here not current). I actually had to throw it in the bin, because it tasted like a bad peanut does. Then I noticed "Absolutely no added sugar" - but it needs a bit of sugar: it's gone too far. This was my favourite brand before, because it wasn't as sugared as many other brands.

We buy this because having seen first hand the devastation of palm oil plantations (even "sustainable" ones), we can't bring ourselves to buy products which contain it. However, it is a compromise on taste, which for us, would simply be solved with a tiny smidge of salt. We love the original and organic crunchy versions whole earth do, and would be delighted if this was a little closer in flavour to that. This would be the best of both worlds. The slightly different texture isn't an issue for us, but the flavour is. We will however continue to buy it as a more ethical option.
Some people have criticized this product for not containing salt or sugar. This is missing the point entirely! You only buy this peanut butter if you care about the environment - it is both organic and palm oil free -and you don't want anything but peanuts. If you want salt/sugar, this brand sells another product containing those ingredients. It is what it says on the label, and it tastes OK for those who want it really healthy.
I'm sure its great spread on bread, but I buy the smooth version to use in cooking. Lentil wat, gado gado sauce and a whole host of other recipes always turn out perfect with this brand. Cheaper brands are available, but you get what you pay for and this is definitely worth that little extra cost.
I opened the pot and the top centimetre was oil. It didn't look right. I tipped out the excess oil, it was runny and looked like the inside of a dirty toilet bowl. Odd color, odd consistency. Rank. I've bought other Whole Earth peanut butter and it's been great. Not sure why this organic stuff was so disgusting. Maybe it's normal, but I've never seen peanut butter like it. I binned it.
I worry about leaving outstanding reviews, as the price always goes up after - but I really must. Sharing the message there is no other for me. No other unsalted / unsweetened peanut butter taste as good as this one. Please don't put up the price!
Three years have passed since I first tried this brand, yet it still contains palm oil, when even supermarket versions don't? It's still also rather thick and claggy, making it more a 'paste' than a spread. If they could remove the palm oil and made it more spreadable, that would be great!
First time iv'e tried this & it's so tasty. not sweet but not bitter either. It spreads easy on toast but not so easy on just bread but if you take it easy it can be done. You can't taste the drop of oil they put in' & has only a hint of salt a taste. so if you don't like salt you should be okay with this. i'm going to try this brand made with only 100% nuts. it's a big jar & you can pop it in the store cupboard & it doesn't go off. just check the use by date.
